Guillen undergoes heart procedure!
Though it sounds alarming.. it's a very routine proceedure and not an indication of a heart problem. Moreso investigative.

Sox signed Giambi to help keep Frank?
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 09:25 AM) Fair enough. I hope you're right about Frank coming back. We've seen in the papers that KW is ready to cut ties w/ Frank at season's end to save $6.5 mil, which would be a colossal misjudgement if he comes back from the injury and plays this year like he did when healthy in 2004. I'm encouraged to hear that Reinsdorf would make a push for Hurt -- even if it is mostly speculation. Doesn't matter what Kenny wants in regards to Frank. As long as Frank and Jerry are on good terms Frank will be in a Sox uniform.

Frank asking to withdraw subpoena
QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) And I believe "power of attorney" allows the lawyer to speak on behalf of his client. So Frank has given up his ability to speak and make decisions...? Interesting..

Frank asking to withdraw subpoena
QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) Well, a few others have given their thoughts on why he might, read through the thread. As I said above.. I don't agree.

Frank asking to withdraw subpoena
QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) In the first sentence. His lawyer said... I have a hard time agreeing that is Frank's stance after all last week saying he was looking forward to going. JMO, of course.

Frank asking to withdraw subpoena
QUOTE(poorme @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) frank's ultimately responsible for what his lawyer says/does on his behalf. And where does it say he wants to be withdrawn...?

Frank asking to withdraw subpoena
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) If that's the case, this should NOT be the title of the thread...This is like those stupid magazines in the grocery checkout lanes. That's what I'm saying...

Breaking News
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) I wonder whay he panicked and killed himself. Maybe he had something really incriminating in the car with him, like his clothes with their blood on it. Strange. Sounds like he was going to kill himself anyway. He sent a note to channel 2 also so he was planning something. Claimed he wasn't going to kill the husband or mother until the husband found him in the pantry.

Breaking News
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) You might be right, I might be giving this guy too much credit, but he was neat enough to where without this break, they might never have caught him. I think they would have found him dead eventually. FWIU they were going case by case looking for people she ruled against. Definitely would have taken some time though.

Breaking News
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) .....all of which could not be linked back to him, unless they got lucky, like they did. If they don't pull him over and he skips town, they woulda been screwed. I was referring to the crime scene.. which wasn't "neat", IMO.

Breaking News
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Somehow this whole thing looks like it was solved a little too neatly and easily. They HAD to find a suspect within a week, or the public outcry would've been enormous. Heck even Bush was involved. If this in fact is the guy, they caught a huge break, cuz from what I've read, the killer was not sloppy. They didn't have much to go on. 2 shell casings, a cigarette butt, a fingerprint... doesn't sound too neat to me.

Breaking News
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Too bad the media will never apoligize to Hale for assuming that he had this done. The guy might be a scumbag, but they had him all over the news for this, and he looks to have had zero connection to it. If it slithers like a snake...

Frank invited to testify about steroids
QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) I'm not defending steroids at all, just to make that clear. You're original argument was that Frank would be a positive influence at the Congressional hearings , which he would be because he'll speak out against them. But to the kid deciding wether or not to take roids based on who is at the hearings any positive points Frank makes is offset by the fact that is is naturally bigger then your average baseball player. The whole point of taking steroids is to get bigger and stronger , hit more home runs, drive in more runs , get a bigger paycheck. Frank is already big and strong thats why I bring up his size. Smaller success stories are not at these hearings. I still have no idea what the hell you are talking about or why you are responding to me. Frank did things the right way.. what the hell that has to do with his size or why you seem to think I said size had anything to do with it is beyond me. Apparently you're a bit mixed up with whom you are responding to.

Carman Defalco New sox Host?
QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) Steff, would you think Wills has an out clause in case a play by play gig comes up with the sox? For instance if hawk should bite it one day Wills may be the right guy to take over. Quick.. I can't answer that.

Carman Defalco New sox Host?
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Oh sure leave us hanging... Tease!! Sorry.. the info came from Dave and since he's not working for the Sox anymore I don't think it would be appropriate to quote him specifically.
