QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) But once Frank retires, he needs to be on the left field wall and have statue. Uhh.. he ain't comming back. They retired Baines before he stopped playing, they can sure as hell do the same for Frank.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 02:23 PM) Actually Samsung makes the blackjack, not Motorola... Motorola makes a similar phone the Q or something that has similar functionality. I have an LG VX8700 Its kinda razr-esk with better keys and better battery life. Also I can get my email on here but of course lack the functionality of a keypad which I wish I had. Chit.. you're right. RD, I like your phone from the 5 minutes I messed with it, but you are right about the lack of keyboard functionality. I don't think I could live without my treo and how easy it's made communication. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) I have the blackberry curve....best phone ever That's the one with the stainless trim and the little nob to navigate, right?

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:38 PM) Thank you Steff. Good point. The problem is that Fathom is stating his opinion as fact by using a source and not stating it as opinion. I am trying to get what he is talking about and who this person that told him this is. Confusing. Pick your battles wisely ssi. Sometimes it's just best to let others win. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) Actually, this is something we've been talking about for over a year now in regards to Kemp. I'm not going to say who said it, etc....just trust some of us that know about the situation. Civic told you all you need to know. Good stuff. Hope it works for you. In the past when I've pulled the "I'm not telling" card I've gotten called some very choice things...

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) AJ didn't punch Joey Cora before he came here. Spend 5 minutes around Joey Cora and you'd want to punch him to.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:20 PM) I have the Blackjack and every functionality you can ever need is on this phone. You can sync different email addresses to the phone and they will show up right on the phone, the internet is faster than I ever would have expected, and you can upgrade the memory to add music (WMP), pictures (1.3 MP), contacts, etc. Only drawback is battery life, but it comes with an extended battery, so that is good too. I demo'd a blackjack and was impressed. Its extremely similar to the treo with really the only big difference being it's size. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) who makes it? Motorola. Not a plus, imo.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) I had my old Motorola from 1995 in a box - I threw it out... gads that thing was a chunk. Nice. I'll definitely have to try it. Syncing email is the other biggie, of course. Then you goofballs can email me every time the server goes wacky. I have work outlook, yahoo, and 3 sbc email accounts sync'd and the email loads super fast. Also, mine with Cingular service is it's compatable with windows applications so I can open excel and word files - and work on them if I need to.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) According to abc7.com, since there were no choke marks, the one investigator says that Benoit may have put Daniel into a choke-hold. The Crippler? I've been hearing that also. So sad. I was hoping he did it while the kid was sleeping and just put a pillow over his head. So sad.

QUOTE(Al Lopez @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:20 PM) Congrats 35 - next stop Cooperstown. Can't wait to hear his speech.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 12:56 PM) Told by whom? Why is asshole ok to say on this site? Isn't that vulgar? AJ was an asshole on another team yet he's a peach here, FWIW. The Sox don't shy away from problem children. They thrive in fixing them so I'd take the above opinion as all oponions should be taken.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 11:51 AM) do you use lo-res or hi-res for soxtalk? that's actually very cool if you can go to sites like this one and not lose a lot of functionality. i guess i can test drive the darn thing at the store and decide for myself, eh? Hmm.. I don't know. Definitely test it first. They should give you a week to do so.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) I'd stab my eyeballs out with a damn stylus - those things piss me off. Now a touch screen I could go for. A lot of people are saying that the existing Treos with the touch screens are just as good as, if not better, then an IPhone because #1 - the Treo has MUCH more memory, and #2 - the surfing abilities of a Treo are very good. Can you surf soxtalk with a treo? I surf and post from it all the time. I also have about 1000 pictures all the way back to 2005, over 200 contacts, and several business files downloaded to it and have had no memory issues.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) im a blackberry guy through and through, I think having a stylus is stupid and I adore the click wheel. Jim loves his BB also. His new one has a navigation system on it which is pretty cool, but no longer has the click wheel. It has a joystick like button to navigate now. The 680 is both stylus and finger touch screen. I've never used the stylus.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) Really (on the streaming part)? Can you give me an example? And, are people able to hear you well? (CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? DAMMIT, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW???) I can watch espn news with ease. No jolting or screen freezing. I have also watched tv shows from network sites. I've never had an issue with hearing others and they have not indicated they have an issue hearing me. One thing I don't like is the battery life. It lasts just under 24 hours with my normal use - for me that's about 50 or so texts and maybe 20 minutes of talk time and an hour or so of web searcing. I would prefer it to be a bit longer, but since I charge it while driving it's not that much of an issue. It sucked when I was on vacation so that's why I mentioned it. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) By streaming, do you mean MP3 already downloaded onto a card, or real, online streaming with video or music? Real online streaming. I'm not into that mp3 stuff.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) I think Offman deserves more credit, as at least he knew something was going on. Levine was the one who foolishly believed that no negotiations were close to happening. Bruce, you mean No, I mean Berry. Berry gave Bruce the quote. He simply repeated it. And he repeated what Mark told him prior to the game. Regardless if they were lies or not, they were direct quotes from the 2 people involved in the process.
-
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:34 AM) Don't let Levine off the hook...He stated NOTHING is taking place while everyone is flying to Florida. The desiree to get the Scoop is powerful and makes men do studpid things. Just like Sinatra...only got involved when JFK needed hookers! Other than that Peter Lawford took care of it. The quote from Barry was "No new talks are underway". He repeated what he was told. Far cry from "the deal is done!!!" And he reported it hours before Hahn supposedly left for Florida.

I have a Treo 680 - had the 650 previously. I love it. The texting and emailing I use like crazy (thank God for the unlimited plan) and I use the internet at least once a day. It's not as fast as an ISDN connection, but it's better than the 650 and the Blackberry, imo. The 680 is also touch screen which I love. It does have some stuff on it that I don't use, but it's minimal. For the price vs accessories is comes with, I think it's the best deal for a "smart phone". As for the phone it's loud and clear - which I did have concerns about with the internal intenna, but I have had no reception issues since getting it in January - even when I was in Costa Rico. And I don't know if you care about this, but streaming is excellent on it as well.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 08:47 AM) It's a long thread with a TON of standard wrestling chitter-chatter going on about things other than Benoit. I don't want to read about wrestling, I was curious about the one thing. I'll just drop Critic a line. It's already posted = yes. Since you don't want to search for it, why don't you just go to cnn.com or msnbc.com or yahoo.com or wwe.com. They all have headline stories about it. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 08:49 AM) He was supposedly giving his kid HGH. Excuse you. That is not a "yes" or "no".
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 08:46 AM) Well this is going to be a long ass day. A long ass next couple of years, too. With or without Mark.
-
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 07:28 AM) O.K., not trolling, not trying to fight, just asking. On another board they mention that Benoit may have been doping his kid. Anybody else seen this news, or is it just a wild rumor running out of control? It's posted earlier in this thread.

QUOTE(toasty @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 04:04 AM) durring the game, farmer said mark told him he wanted 13.... 2 pages ago it was $14M... So which is it $13, $14, or $15M? And apparently you guys need to stop listening to loud music.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 06:37 PM) If Buehrle would take 5/70 and Uncle Jerry says no, then wow that's just bad. 5/70 for Buehrle is chump change, Jerry's rules on years be damned. Perhaps Jerry can speak with the board and get them to relax that rule. Sometimes it is forgotten that there are other people's investments to take into consideration on that end. Though, keeping that in mind, the "company" has for the past 7 years put the profits back into the team. Hopefully they put it in the right place and see something in the future to build on. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 06:38 PM) 12.5 that is reported and 14 mill is not a major difference over 4 years. Wouldn't that be some s*** if Mark says no to $12.5M but signs elsewhere for $14M a year...
-
QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 06:36 PM) That's pretty much the same method they do it now, or just do it the hard way. One of my buddie was suppose to go over the top turnbuckle during a match and down to the floor, screwed up and his forehead met the top of the turn buckel post and had a nasty gash. Had to get 20 stitches. Really.. ? You'd think in 20 years they would come up with a little better system. I remember a few times a wrist got accidentally cut. Not good.
-
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) Most people still think wrestlers bleed using ketchup or some makeshift device. Back in Lakeland they used little tiny razor blades that were slid under their wristbands. Not the brightest tools in the shed back then, but it got the job done when the metal chair didn't bust them up enough.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 06:25 PM) If that is the case, then Mark should have been signed yesterday. Perhaps a years issue..

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Straight from the horses mouth. I'm going back to my regularly scheduled programming. Same thing Bruce said hours ago... you owe him an apology.
