QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) Haha, this past weekend it was Chicken and Waffles for me and they were freaking amazing. Almost as good as the food at that breakfast place that one Soxfest (that was some of the best late night breakfast ever). s***, I need to get some vacation in and get back out to Chicago (especially now that I should be able to pick up seats with ease in September, lol). The White Palace. Let me know if/when you are coming out. We have plenty of tickets avaliable. Also I don't know how pleased I will to be sitting at the Bears games 6+ months pregnant.

I'm gonna go with the over/under on "don't trade Mark threads" before the weekend at 85.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) Interesting. I guess they are just blaming him for being in the situation. I know I've been out many a times around 3 AM (usually heading back home or having grub at a Denny's type of place). That said if I have drank I always have a sober driver (and sometimes it is me that is the sober driver). I consider myself a responsible person even though I have a lot of late weekeend nights but I don't have the past that Tank has. Still I find it funny people lament someone for being out at 3 when I'm sure at that age they did it too (not taking his prior factors into consideration). This is just a guess but sicne they had to take blood I'm guessing he refused to blow. That in itself make himself look guilty of something and probably a big factor in why they said adios. You know me and normally I would be up to no good being out at 3am also.. but these days.. when the mood strikes for a Klondike bar, one must go get a Klondike bar.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) Glad the organization stepped up and made him pay for the mistake (I assume this means he was in fact under the influence). Nope. They are not waiting for the BAC results.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) Plus we turned him around. He had not been dominating in the Cubs system. He was a high draft pick, but he turned into a top prospect when he made adjustments in the Sox system (and he has lived up to expectations). If I had a nickel for every time I read "Judy" on this website... oye ve.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) Well, can we get some sort of idea about what was seen that would explain the team this year? Seriously, Pods hit the nail on the head. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) www.hotsuburbanmoms.com Hmm.. I dunno if technically I qualify for that site just yet... -

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) Can we at least get a synopsis, without naming names? I'd perfer not to. I've already seen some other big mouth on another site talk about the event I was at, and I don't want to risk ever being accused of repeating things and not being invited back. Sorry. -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 02:46 PM) Who asked you? Fairweather fan. Excuse you.. it's lemming about to jump off a cliff thank you very much.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) Huh? I swear that the White Sox have constantly been increasing their payroll. Wouldnt that be "invested in sustaining the competitiveness of the team." Which teams in the AL Central have a higher payroll than the Sox? Or should we just say unless the Sox spend like the Yankees or Red Sox they just arent trying? All of these threads are a joke. There are still some fans out there who don't like to pay attention to silly little things like facts..

QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) I'm going to have to disagree with you on this. Sure, people can and will react any way that they see fit, but there are things that are just plain wrong, and telling someone to "go to hell" is something that is just plain wrong. Why would you ever wish that on anyone? Think a bit about what you say. I would agree that "go to hell" is outside of the "good fan, bad fan" argument. I don't think he was defending that behavior at all. -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 01:21 PM) So know I don't know anything? Whatever. Way too easy...

Has there been any confirmation from either side that the deal being talked about is NOT 5 years?

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) i think you get into dangerous territory when you start trying to define "good fan" and "bad fan." everyone deals with this kind of failure in their own way and i don't think any one course of coping or other shows whether you are a good fan or a bad fan. i tend to respect everyone's right to react however they see fit. This has been said a million times, and it's 100% correct, yet you still have folks calling people stupid for spending money, making posts that they are "done" with the Sox, telling them to "go to hell" etc, etc... I'm just as pissed as ayone else, but to walk away from something that has been as second nature to me as breathing for as long as I can remember just makes no sense to me. As for what I heard and saw, I think Pods sumed it up well on Saturday. As well, I think it would be inappropriate to post specific comments and actions. Sorry. Flame away.. -
What does Mark's personal life have to do with his trade talks?

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) Growing pains? This is NOT a team full of kids waiting to develop. This is 90% of the team that won it all two years ago and all of a sudden fell off the wagon. You can't look out on the field and see the future of the franchise, outside of Danks, Fields, and Jenks. All you can do is wonder who is being traded and for whom. Even more disturbing is that they just dont seem to care. (see any of the recent player interviews talking about a lack of fire and/or intensity) You're wearing that like a badge of honor, but to me it's just silly. To each his/her own though. Who is crying? Between you and me, I'm the realist here. Says the lemming about to walk off the cliff. He quoted my whole post. 1. Tell me something I don't know, and haven't said on THIS SITE at least 50 times the past 2 weeks. 2. I know first hand that they don't care and I've been saying it since the start of the season. This is a group of passive boys who care more about getting drunk and their golf game than how they do their job. 3. No badge. Just the facts. 4. Real ignorant, IMO. 5. Walk off the cliff.. that's hysterical. My family has been paying for Sox tickets for nearly 40 years.. if we haven't walked yet, this ain't gonna do it. 6. And was crystal clear in agreeing with the enabler comment, which I don't think anyone would disagree with. -

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) You can't back up what you say? Shocker! PS - I assume you see LV agreed with my post. Another shocker! I can back it up because it's what I do. I support this team no matter what and deal with the growing pains rather than throw a hissy fit like a 2 year old. I, unlike a lot of posters here, dealt with the s*** of the 80's and early 90's WHILE paying for season tickets. I also have plenty of friends who DON'T pay for season tickets but also don't cry like a sissy baby when the Sox have a bad year. You are a perfect example of a wagon jumper. Break a leg when ya fall off... I see he agreed with the Cubs fans being called enablers. Read much..? His stance to not financially support the Sox is one I can and do respect. -

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) Explain, because telling them to go to hell seems to be about the same thing to me. Just a fan expressing anger that their team is awful. If it seems the same then you can not be helped. Common sense is something you have or you don't. -

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 10:16 AM) Lame. That's the same crap Cub fans have spewed for years and there isn't an ounce of truth to it. Part of the damn reason why the Cubs always have and always will suck is that their management and ownership know that the lemmings will pack Wrigley and watch on WGN come hell or high water, so they have no incentive to put a quality product on the field. Hence, the true blue fans are part of the problem. They're enablers. For me, there is no logical or rational reason to continue supporting this team. To do so is insanity. EDIT: treed by ten minutes lol Refusing to financially support the team and telling them to "go to hell" are two very different things. Your post is s*** compared to LV's. -
QUOTE(SadChiSoxFanOptimist @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) I could not believe that the Sox allowed Rooney, the only real annoncing pro they had, leave w/o an effort to retain him. Inexcusable. Oye... :brickwall

If yer gonna blame "someone", perhaps blame ownership that the group and not Jerry, who is the Chairman voice and not the sole decision maker. QUOTE(SadChiSoxFanOptimist @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 08:59 AM) Jerry Reinsdorf. He can spend tens of millions of dollars to correct the many design errors he made in the new stadium, but has not invested in sustaining the competitiveness of the team and meeting the contemporary contractual requirements to acquire/retain starting pitching. To enable this philosophy, the Sox would need to be best in class in selecting and developing talent progressively, but we are among the worst at that. This is a telling example of our lack of management and philosophical alignment in the business operations of this team. Wow. Just wow. Double wow. Missed all that news on the US Cellular money, eh? Not to mention the Sox don't own the stadium thus wouldn't pay for improvements anyway.

TIA for any info as WebMD isn't cuttin' it.. Anyone have any experience with femoral nerve damage? How long it lasted? Did it self heal? Get better or worse with time or activity level/intensity? Thanks, Steff

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 07:16 PM) Then this person should quit his very high-profiled job. Yes, he should. And if that's not enough, he also should quit if he is the person that provided you with the Rowand "agreement" rumor.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) Well, then you and I are hearing differently, and I value the information I received from this person, as he's one of the individuals most closely connected with the draft. FWIW, the Sox were very upset when Main was picked, as he was the guy they wanted. No offense, though it will sound like it, but your source is full of s***. GM's rarely, if ever, see draft picks in person.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 06:55 PM) Big f***ing whoop. Plenty of teams GM's haven't seen there first round picks in person. Only about 98% of them.
