Ben will be our starting pitcher next year.
-
Ahhh.. you are right. Forgot about that. Sorry.
-
Or maybe that what they said to him and he simply repeated it. It's obvious, IMO, they (Torre) had a love fest with him by inviting him to the AS game. And Loaiza has far from a huge ego. JMO on that, too, of course.

Yea.. I guess I never think about that since we just go regardless. They have some good fans there. Kid Rock was there with his son Saturday, huge Detroit fan.. and of course D12 yesterday. They seemed pretty tight with White and Young as they were laughing it up with them before the game yesterday. They couldn't have had on any more Tiger's stuff either. Hats, jerseys.. it was funny.

We were right behind the dugout Friday and Saturday, and right next to it yesterday. Lots of fun. The stadium is top notch. The atmosphere is unreal. I can't understand why they are not full every night.

By the way.. here's a pic from my seat. That park is awesome... if you ever get a chance.. go.

rolleyeyes.gif Nice guys. Our conversation isn't important... but it was very interesting.

Bla... it's no fun when you lose. Went back to the Ritz for a nitecap and figured everyone would be in a bad mood... but nope. Urbina came over with Ozzie and Freddy (and you guys would be sick to know how close we were to getting him in the spring :puke) and most of the guys came in for a drink. The surprise of the night was seeing Loiaza still here. Took some pictures, had him sign a ball (for when he wins that Cy Young.. ) and he talked with us for a good hour. Ozzies sons are awesome. They talked with us for a long time about how things are in the clubhouse, and possible moves the Sox might make in the near future. Surprisingly everyone was fine, talked positive, and are still confident they can pull this winning thing off. So it's back to the park today. The fans have been ok for the most part. A few jerks here and there but nothing major. Hopefully we can pull this one out.

Sorry Brian... but I brought my laptop.. Not so bad here. The park is awesome. Traffic sucked, and we got here late. But other than that.. it's OK. Had mass quantities of alcohol last night... as did everyone else. At one point we almost had a bus loaded ready to leave for the nearest bridge... Everyone is down. Especially Willie (and Aboz you'll be happy to hear he quit smoking ). Spent a lot of the night talking with everyone. Jim and a few others talked Santana's ear off. He stayed with them till 2 in the morning. He's got some stories.. Herm and a few other guys on the staff stayed, too. We all had a great time. A lot of fans are here, which surprised me. Kenny isn't here. No one is sure if he's coming.. and no one knew anything about what he's doing. But many agree that Sweeney should not be moved. So, that's about it. Pretty quiet night. No D12 sighting yet.. but the Hanson Brothers are in town....
-
I'm off to Detroit... Hold down the fort, don't kill eachother, and I'll try to get Kenny all liquored up and get some info And maybe.. if I'm real lucky.. I'll run into D12.

I meant in regards to getting more financial gain. Of course if they have a good argument why the Cubs shouldn't play there (scheduling, etc..) I think the ISA would side with them. They are their main tennant.
-
Umm.. I know it's huge.. but can you guys get your hands off my ass!!!
-
Eh.. no thanks. Not too fond of the crowd up there - with the exception of plushies.
-
Gotta do something to afford those lower deck season tickets... rolleyeyes.gif
-
Sure... at 12% interest. Compounded hourly.

At $195,000 I just make it.. whew!

They already have an agreement in writing. But your comment made me

There has been a "plan" should this ever happen since the start of the ISA's relationship with this park. From what I can tell the Sox would get % of revenue from any "shared" revenues.. the kicker.. "shared" is not defined. Like parking.. shouldn't the Sox continue to get their cut - which by the way is approx $6 per car -or would the Cubs get that since it's their game/fans.. or would the ISA get it all since they are the ones with the contract with the parking workers union..?? Concession revenue... supposedly the workers scheduled to work Cubs games would work them at the Cell.. and the Cubs would get that revenue as they normally would at their park (which I agree with). Ditto on the beer sales. But what about concessions...? If a Sox shirt sells during a Cubs game.. who get's that..? The Cubs don't sell Sox stuff at their park. And yea.. that's getting pretty specific, but IMO, that's something that is very questionable.. and where the ISA would take full advantage. ISA: Jerry.. you continue to get what you get when your team plays. When the Cubs play, they'll get their cut.. and we'll take care of the excess.... Hell.. it's perfect for them. I can't imagine they would give up any more than they have to since they likely hold some cards to make the Sox lives very uncomfortable if they push things. And to be honest... I don't think the Sox should ask for more. If they get anything it's more than they had before. JMO..

Apparently I got lost somewhere along the way in this thread.. so I'm out.
-
Looking over the info I got earlier this year and the "deal" between the ISA and the Cubs.. IF the Cubs played there for any significant amount of time the windfall to the Sox directly would be just about 2% of the net revenues. The ISA would make out like a bandit though. Remember folks.. the Sox are just renters. They don't control much there.

That's funny...

Tex.. he said this..: "If you have an income of 50-75,000 and you are married with a couple kids....I'm sorry that is not rich....." Which is not only a good point.. it's a fact.
-
I don't think he assumed anything.. he was making a point (and a good one - IMO) by using a general example.

I sold a car on there 11 days after opening my PayPal account and I didn't have an issue getting the $ transfered to my bank account.... Granted it was a one time thing - most of the time I'm buying anyway.. but when I've sold it's been for less than $100 most of the time. Guess I just got lucky.
