insuring players
Exactly right YAS. The second the insurance co realized they were liable for 80%... EIGHTY PERCENT, of his remaining contract.. the cost to insure contracts more than doubled. I think the max time now is only 2 years and only up to 50% of the contract worth, and there is a $$ amount not to exceed as well.

Matchbox20
Went to Champaign last night to see their final show for a while... they continue to amaze me. I've been a fan for a very long time and they just keep getting better and better and really treat their fans well. After the show Jim and I headed over to Brian's (KochThis) place and got a view of college apartment life... HUGE culture shock!! I do not miss those days one bit.

2004 Ticket Prices
Eye.. it's all because we don't win more. If we won more.. I honestly think we would never hear about the ticket prices.. or salaries.

25 albums that should not have been recorded
An opinion is an opinion. Not a fact. Someone can be more qualified to state facts.. but to state an opinion? Well damn.. why bother with everyone having individual opinions at all and just let those most qualified speak.. And "next please" that stick out of your ass... there's no need to be rude, and if you didn't have anything nice to say you shouldn't have responded at all.

2004 Ticket Prices
I can only speak for the ones we are looking at getting.. but the 2004 X5 IS a LOT more expensive than the 2003 was last year at this time. The other one I'm looking at (the FX45) was not avaliable so I can't comment on that. The 2004 M5 is $4100 more that it was this time last year as well. And the Jeep is also a bit more expensive. Your analogy is a wee bit flawed.

2004 Ticket Prices
Eye.. I hate to tell you but this is the way everything works. Take a walk on a car lot.. even without significant changes to a model, the 2004's are more expensive than the 2003's.

2004 Ticket Prices
Nothing... I'm clear. Help me out on your position again though... If they put a better product on the field.. with or without increasing payroll - to justify raising ticket prices - prices that are already too high for the average family - then more people will go you think..?? And this really confused me... "I am not saying they have to spend more" but "They want me to spend a few more dollars, so why shouldn't they?" Where is the confused shrugging smiley??

Maybe call them.. ask to talk to a rep and go from there.

2004 Ticket Prices
Mmmm.. kay. Where did I say I was a better fan..? Looking for that part.. I was talking about the crowd, and how most of them are questionable. I see enough of them. Should the prices stay.. I'd like that. But they won't. Back to my initial point.. the Sox are VERY affordable in THIS market.
-
2004 Ticket Prices
OK.. so you're saying that if the Sox spent more on the team to justify increasing the ticket prices - that so many can already not afford - more people will go?? So somehow.. they are going to find the extra $$ to go if there is a better team..? So.. it's got nothing to do with the prices afterall?

2004 Ticket Prices
Uhhh.. no, and where did I incinuate that..?
-
2004 Ticket Prices
I used 4 cause the average is 2.32 kids.. but regardless.. my point is that the Sox ARE much more affordable that other clubs, and a way better deal in THIS market. Maybe send your suggestion to the Sox..?

2004 Ticket Prices
I'm sure it is.. and without meaning to sound s***ty.. that isn't the Sox problem. The point is that they DO do things to make game affordable for families. Much, MUCH more than a LOT of other clubs. And I have no idea how many Monday's or Tuesday's there are in the '04 season. But, again, is that really the point?
