  1. Gooch pulls a hat trick. Wow. And then Texeira lines out to him. Apparently the Rangers know where to hit it, it just doesnt work every time.
  2. Detroit? Sorry, but in no way is Detroit a good team. Id put them closer to KC than to Boston. Jermaine grounds out with runners on first and second. It seems that we have adopted selectively unclutch hitting. Get out when it counts, and get hits when it doesnt. I swear, I bet JD homers in his next AB.
  3. And look at that, Buehrle gives half of it back right off the bat. The first freakin pitch. Im not sure whats worse. The lousy offense (Im used to it now), the shoddy defense (it seems to be a recent creation) or the s***ty pitching (it seems to be getting worse as time goes on). Bostons lineup is just as mean as Texas'. So dont be happy just because Texas is seven under .500. And Im warning ya, these guys will kill BMac. And isnt it convenient that Tad gets his hit with no men on, instead of earlier when there were two outs and men on second and third? Nice clutch hitting, another thing that got us here in the first place.
  4. For being the best team in the AL, this team sure looks lame from time to time. Ugh.
  5. Now a missed catch by Iguchi? Thats two errors in one inning by him. Im really trying not to give him hell, but this is pissing me off. We havent clinched yet, we cant just quit now.
  6. A homerun and a double to Mark DeRosa? Are you serious? Hes supposed to be the easy out in this tough lineup, but Buehrles making him the star. And our fielding has to be on top of their game. We cant go around giving outs to a team like this. We already have two errors. Thats unnacceptable. How on earth did this team make it to 31 games over .500? I havent seen the fundamental play necessary for such greatness lately. They look just like any other team, just mediocre. What happened to the aggressiveness, the art of advancing runners using small ball and not just swinging for the fences? These guys are on a homerun binge, and it better end come playoff time or theyre not going anywhere. Fundamentals got us here, and now the players seem to think its fine to leave them behind now. Since that disaster As series before the break, we have been a .500 team, just like all the previous years, because we decided to abandon fundamentals and just go for the long ball. That is going to get us nowhere. FUNDAMENTALS!
  7. I think we have a chance until opposing teams decide to use nothing but debut rookies against us. When they realize that as a strategy, were f***ed.

  9. This is our ace. If hes getting banged up this bad, hows McCarthy gonna do? Maybe we should delay BMacs start until the next series vs Detroit.
  10. Nothing your friend did was out of line. Atleast he warned him. I wouldnt have even done that. Paint in the mouth and in the eyes is a lesson learned. Done.
  11. If you say so, I think I can believe that, but PK never played with Belle. PKs first year was 1999, and Belle left after 1998. Sorry for nitpicking.
  12. How could I forget DW? Not only did he suck, but he publicly criticized Frank for being a wimp even though he had a very serious injury, and then shortly after he went down with a sore back? That was pretty funny.
  13. I forgot a few players to go under group one. Danny Wright and Billy Blotch both come to mind. With his performance this year, Shingo probably qualifies, as do Adkins and Walker. As for Jose Paniagua, I dont get why his name comes up so much. He got one out for us and gave up for runs. It stunk but it didnt hurt us long term (Navarro damaged us for years). I guess that would disqualify Walker, but for him its obvious hes not a major leaguer. Paniagua was never given a second shot, and though that doesnt bother me any, one bad outting and then being abandoned doesnt get you on my list. If youre just looking for guys like that, what about Ken Hill? He went three innings and gave up eight runs in 2000. Wheres his mention? Besides, there are a million pitchers who just never panned out, especially for us. Arnie Munoz, Kip Wells, Jim Parque, Lorenzo Barcelo and so on. Theres no point listing all of them, which is why I try to pick out the especially bad ones who hurt us time after time. Oh, and thanks for the welcome!
  14. Thanks guys! Time to go get this s*** off.
  15. Well, acutally, in my second post ever at soxtalk, I have two questions. First, how do I change my name? I want it to be "the southside tiger" instead of "el tigre". Second, and this is kind of random, but how do I get superglue off my skin? I damn near glued my fingers together when decorating my dorm room. My RA suggested gasoline but Im not really that desperate yet. And message board people seem intelligent, so I figured I might as well throw this one out there. Thanks guys!
  16. There are a few different subcategories of my dislikes. The groups are (1) s***ty players, (2) players with bad attitudes and (3) players who were in both. So heres how I split them up: Group 1: The garbage Mark Johnson Todd Ritchie Jason Dellaero Joe Borchard Joe Crede (if he doesnt get his ass in gear) Group 2: The jerks Wil Cordero Albert Belle Group 3: The s***ty pricks Jaime Navarro Royce Clayton
