The most hated sox player ever

Featured Replies

My vote is for royce clayton. and nobody better try to say he's "all glove no bat." i know a scout for the padres, and he agreed with me and said royce is regarded by the padres as "all contract, no bat or glove." i quote that.

anyways, who is everyone else's vote for?

Jaime Navarro, no doubt about it. I have never seen a player sign a huge contract, suck incredibly bad, and then blame other people for their failures as much as JN did.

I can just see it now...

"eff you... he is NOT the worst....."

It's begging to be closed... give in. Please...

You make a good point. I revise my opinion to make a tie. I was concentrating more on non-pitchers, but you can't ignore navarro.

Not a very nice topic. I think it is obvious from an all around baseball perspective. We had one guy who was almost as beloved by the media as Bonds is.

what's wrong with this topic? i thought it would be kind of interesting to find out what people thought. if you dislike it, then dont post on it, I guess.

Just seems a little malicious. Maybe "most disliked" or whatever...but "Hated" is just a brutal way of talking about somebody who plays for a team we all cheer for. I can't say I have "hated" any of the players, but there were some who drive me friggin' crazy. Honestly, I have a hard time watching WidgerTV nowdays. :D

one more vote for Royce

Todd Ritchie and Royce Clayton stand out in my mind. Though Ritchie is more to be pitied.

this one is easy.......

SAMMY SOSA

hated him in a Sox uni and that didn't change when he took it off

Armando Rios

Timo

There's plenty. I just can't narrow it down to one.

Todd Ritchie

Royce Clayton

Juan Agosto

Joe Borchard

Mike Caruso

"hate" is too strong a word for these guys. They just didn't cut it. "disliked" "drove me nuts" or "plain 'ol sucked" probably fits better.

Jaime Navarro - you can say "hate" for this guy.

I remember when we got him from the Yanks, I was so freakin stoked, he even did a cameo on the Simpsons that year. Finally the season came and nothing.

what a bummer that was

I know you're referring to his behavior that one night, but aren't you forgetting all his other contributions?

:P

I kind of liked Caruso, and I always wish he would do better. Looks wise, he was such a throw back to old baseball.

I'm suprised it took 13 posts for his name to be mentioned.

Like I've said a thousand times, I'll never understand the hatred for him. He produced for a s*** team in '98 and never amounted to anything after that. You can say more for him than you could for a s*** load of other Sox prospects (even though he wasn't home grown). What about Jason Dellaero, we drafted his ass in the first round and never did s***. Dellaero played 11 career games and hit .091, maybe people should redirect their Caruso hatred toward players that never did anything, instead of one that played his ass off and contributed.

My most "Dis-liked" team

1b Wil Cordero

2b D'angelo Jimenez

3b Jose Valentin

ss Royce Clayton

of Armando Rios

of Brian Daubach

of Julio Ramirez

dh John Kruk

C Mark Johnson

sp Todd Ritchie

sp Jamie Navarro

sp Gary Glover

sp Dan Wright

sp Scott Shcowenweiss

rp Rick White

rp Matt Ginter

rp Jose Paniagua

CL Billy Koch

Manager: Terry Bevington
