  1. I got rejected from UVa. Not that it bothered me. Penn State is a great school, fun and always lively. I went to the frats the other day and then walked to town for pizza at one in the morning. Hundreds of people were out and about. Not to mention its a days trip from the center of the world, New York City.
  2. Try reading the third to last and second to last sentences. I deal specifically with that. They didnt do anything with other teams! We gambled on them. That was my point.
  3. One moment of bravery and courage? Is that all you can muster? Watch Pedro pitch. He attacks everyone. He would go right after Pujols, Vlad or any of these other superstars. Garland would be a coward going up against them. The greats never back down. Garland does.
  4. No, thats like cheating. Whats the fun in rooting for a team thats just going to buy whatever it needs? I like rooting for the Sox. Homegrown players, some trades and a few FAs. Jeter, Williams and Rivera are the only Yankees to be with the Yanks before stardom. For the Sox, ARow, PK, Crede, Thomas, Buehrle, Garland, Jenks, McCarthy, Marte and Cotts all came to prominence with us. Some of them were with other organizations, but they never did anything before coming here. We had to take risks on them. The Yanks never do that.
  5. Buehrle has proven himself year after year as a solid starter. JG has always been mediocre and even this year he struggles against the good ones. Hes got talent, he simply lacks balls. He is scared of the hitters. The great ones are never scared. Instead they scare the hitters.
  6. Jon Garland, potential ace, real time coward. :puke
  7. Pavano had one good season preceded by several of mediocrity. Dont you think the Yankee scouts could have figured it out? No. GS just has a lot of money to throw around so if one guys doesnt work out, it doesnt really matter. If Jon the coward were available at the end of this season, hed be getting huge offers.
  8. Of course. Im a moron because I dont think PK is worth 10-15 million, which is what hes going to want. He simply doesnt bring much to the table except homeruns. And this is all irrelevant anyways, because PK will leave at the end of this season.
  9. Because teams like the Yankees, Red Sox and Mets blindly sign any player they think is worth it. Remember, the Yankees paid huge sums of money for Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson and Carl Pavano. Just because they get paid a lot of money doesnt mean theyre stars.
  10. Does anyone realize that Jhonny Peralta has a higher SLG than the great slugger Paul Konerko?
  11. No, hes not. Hes 28th in the bigs in RBIs. In the only category he actually does well in, homeruns, hes 11th in the bigs. As for the current game, Soriano doubles and the no hitter is gone. Oh well, it was a nice effort.
  12. Atleast the other base clogger hits for average. PK doesnt do that. Although I would gladly take the 2000-2002 Paulie. He hit for average in those years. Now all he does is hit for power.
  13. A ten pitch strikeout for PK, possibly the most overrated player on earth. Whatever he asks for in the offseason, he should not get it. He is the old team, we need someone like Sean Casey to represent the new Sox.
  14. Another error. On a foul popup. Ugh, but either way, Mench flies out on the next pitch.
  15. Dont even joke. Ozzie would do something like that.
  16. Why do both mlb.com and espn.com say Marte is pitching? Do these guys compete to be the s***tiest websites out there?
  17. Didnt you see JG and MB pitch? Dont you think thats overly optimistic?
  18. A bit of fundamentals in the first frame. Keep it up!
  19. They seem pretty good. The arch teacher kind of slammed us with a bunch of reading and questions, but the CrimJust guy seemed nice. He was a pretty funny man, and I like the curriculum anyways. The book has about 100 pages on police history, functions and culture. Ive already started reading.
  20. This is pathetic. Were actually going to turn this into a race. I think were still in good shape, but with the lead we had, it should never have been even close. Also, Ozzie has to stop putting out these give away lineups. You know, the third game of the series where Blum, Timo, Ozuna and Widger all start, which is probably what we'll see in a few minutes. Offset it, moron Ozzie. Blum rests Crede one day (I do realize Crede is injured, Im just making an example), Timo rests Dye the next, Ozuna rests Uribe after that and finally Widger rests AJ. Then the next few days you can play a full lineup and then start another rotation. These guys arent paid millions of dollars a year to get an offday every third day. I strongly believe the Sox are winning in spite of Ozzie. The players like Pods and Gooch created "Ozzieball", Ozzie didnt create it. Remember, Ozzie was here last year and we still stunk. Pods, Gooch, AJ and many pitchers that made us so good, they werent here last year, and its because of them that we changed our ways. Ozzie was a s***ty player and an even s***tier manager. He should lose his job after this season.
  21. He doesnt know what overrated is. Overrated is not a bad player, just a player who is thought more highly of than he should be. For that reason, Greinke is not overrated. Greinke just sucks. In fact, hes probably underrated. He didnt really start sucking until it became quite apparent that his offense was never going to help him out (Todd Ritchie Syndrome). Hes a better player than people normally think. So Scotties underrated in that aspect as well. He doesnt get the respect that he deserves. No one notices Scott. He got left off a recent list of the fastest major league players, which just goes to show how little attention he gets. And if Ichiros name is on a list of overrated players because he lacks power, then the list should just be automatically disqualified. Thats the most ridiculously stupid thing Ive ever seen. This guy has no understanding of the game at all. His dream team would have been something like the 2001-2004 Sox. And where did those teams go? Nowhere!
  22. This is sad. Jon Garland has great stuff. He could be a great pitcher. But he is a coward, and until he grows a pair, hes not gonna amount to anything. He will be a decent pitcher who dominates crap teams and gets shaken up by the big boys and as a result he'll have a few good seasons mixed in with several bad ones. A real waste of potential in my book.
  23. Like I said, its Jon of 2004. Jon has the talent, but it seems the mental aggressiveness is not there. Look at all the greats. Pedro, Roger, and, not as openly, Greg Maddux. They all challenge the hitters and come right after them. They let the hitters know whos boss and they never back down from anyone. Even when their stuff is gone, they can dominate because they are so confident and overwhelming mentally. Jon Garland is a talented chicken.
