  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) I don't smoke weed, but I think that the people of do, smoke it to chill and relax. I don't think many people smoke it than go driving. I'm just going off my college experiences though. I know plenty of people that smoke and drive, but I know plenty of people who just relax and such, so I can't really agree with you there.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) So no high drivers killing themselves or others? I have a hard time believing that. No one getting high and drowning? Falling? etc. I have a hard time believing that. The stat is flawed because deaths in a car accident involving a high person aren't usually attributed to weed afaik, so weed isn't considered the cause of death. Still, I don't think there's anything wrong with weed, especially if its used in a controlled way, and if thats all the kid is doing considering the amount of more dangerous drugs that can be easily acquired by people near college, I'd be happy. But that's just me I suppose.
  3. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 01:49 PM) "do you know what it feels like to love?" I think...lol. I don't know. I've heard it twice. it falls under the "guilty pleasures" category. Enrique Iglesias - Do You Know Google knows all. I feel dirty for even googling that though.
  4. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Has Flash even posted in this thread yet? You out there, Mr. Icon? Only once, post 20. That'd be pretty funny if someone posted a whole thread about meeting another poster though, and the person that he supposedly met didn't actually meet him.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 04:59 PM) I have a hard time seeing someone roll a cigarette who doesn't look like a guest on the Jerry Springer show. I know plenty of people that do when they can; it must just be a different of area/situations. Regardless of that, it doesn't seem right to me to claim someones smoking weed just based off of the fact that they have papers. I mean, if there was something else that made a more undenying link to weed, sure. But papers don't necessarily mean wed.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) ooh boy, I like number 5 So you're a half-white, half-black, half-man, half-woman (unless you want to be technical and say 1/5th black, 1/5th women, 4/5th man, 4/5th white)? Figures you're in Iowa..
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) Its an Indiana thing... We are all related. I thought it was Iowa thats completely inbred. Maybe its both
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 12:52 AM) I've been told by many people I look like a dark haired AJ Pierzynski. Matthew McConaughey? You're high!
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) When I generally envision what someone (from this board) is going to look like, I think of their avatar or sig. It's like that for me whenever I think of meeting anyone from any online place. Can't say I've met anyone from here (we need to have a Soxtalk trip to the Metrodome next year ), but thats how I'd feel too.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) The rods are probably one-hitters. The papers are prob for smoking weed, most people who roll their own cigs have a machine and do it in high volume. I wouldn't say having papers means they're probably for weed, unless the kid has a known history (meh, "history") of smoking weed. From my experience, papers are a perfectly plausible thing for a college student to buy for smoking tobacco, and its definitely believable that he's using them to roll his own cigs. That said, if you know he's smoking weed, then its definitely a possibility. But I wouldn't be so quick to make the connection if there's no reason to do so. As for the rods, I have no idea. I've never heard of them or seen anything along those lines, but I avoid hard drugs. I do have some friends I can ask though, if you want another opinion or two (it seems like you have a pretty good idea so far, but if you want more thoughts, I'll give them a call).
  11. I agree, as much as I'd like to hold out hope for Rex.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 07:14 PM) I obviously have much more to learn about the world of drug paraphenalia.

    AROD

    Is this sort of deal even possible with the players union and such?
  14. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) Not to be a narc, but I don't buy that -- I don't think I've ever seen a college kid talk about rolling tobacco. Sigh... Not to turn this into something bigger, but why again is smoking marijuana so looked down upon? Probably about half the people I know here, in college, that smoke cigarettes, roll their own. It's apparently cheaper, and better tasting or some s***.
  15. I'm a big Beatles fan, and saw an ad for the it the other day which led me to think about seeing it. However, reviews I've read have been disappointing, and frankly, I think it'd ruin some of the music for me, if only for a week or two. So yea, I've heard it sucks and don't really plan on seeing it.
  16. I've been watching. Greinke has been looking pretty good so far, as has Garland.
  17. Rumor has it that Colton Iverson has committed to the Gophers. He was also recruited by Nebraska, Iowa, and the defending champions Florida Gators.
  18. So both an athlete in Massachusetts and an entertainer/athlete (wrestler?) that's 6'5" and 276 lbs. According to this, the athlete in Massachusetts isn't necessarily 6'5" and 276 lbs. Meanwhile, Hulk Hogan is 6'5" and 276 lbs according to wikipedia (my brother pointed this out to me)
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 08:44 AM) Felix your stupid celebrity thing said I most looked like Cary and Hugh Grant. I'm disgusted right now. Cary Grant, there's nothing wrong with. Hugh on the other hand... yea... Oh, and thats not my stupid celebrity thing, it's B>W's QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 01:03 PM) I whited myself out, but you get the idea.
  20. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) This is actually a pretty good list that is tough to argue with. They were smart to do it alphabetical instead of by rank. The omission of Fawlty Towers is sad though, as IMO it is the single greatest comedy (TV or movies) ever. Ironic that I'm watching Fawlty Towers right now. It's definitely a classic and a damn good comedy, and TV show in general
