    Oxford Town - Bob Dylan (to keep the "Town" trend going)
  2. QUOTE(danman31 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:22 PM) The best game on the ESPN networks so far today is Michigan State-Missouri. 2 point game with 4+ to go. Best part- it's on ESPNU. The only game of the tourneys they aren't showing on ESPN2. Thanks guys. Yeah, they showed it in bonus coverage, but that didn't last long. I'm pretty upset about not being able to watch the ending of it..
  3. Thanks for 2005 Garland, it was great. Good luck in Anaheim, we know you can pitch there, especially after that game in the 05 playoffs.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 12:39 PM) Cold front blows, down to sixtyfive. If it were sixty-five, I'd jump and jive
  5. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 07:33 AM) Why not just "quintuple-double"? The education system fails again
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 12:46 AM) Bradley makes ISU its punk ass b**** tonight. We're hurting bad without Wes, and having a starting backcourt of two walkons doesn't help. Another long season. How I miss Eustachy. Looking more and more forward to our matchup
  7. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) Way better than any of the s***ty books I disagree, sir. Those books rocked my socks off, although I've never seen the movie.
  8. Three pages and no mention of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Granted, the book was better than the movie, but that isn't to say that the film wasn't good, the movie was excellent as well. I think that the movie did a better job than most movies which originated from books do. Also, I think that High Fidelity was better movie than book, but I probably think this because the book was set in England (therefore using English terms), while the movie was in Chicago. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 12:25 PM) I have to disagree. But I'm biased. As a kid, there was a period of time where Roald Dahl was my favorite author, and I read everything he wrote, including both Wonka books. The more recent adaptation, with Mr. Depp, was quite good. But, still not as good as the books. I agree here.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) So I assume Beckett wins the Cy Young today. Nope, CC won it.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) He's tentatively supposed to be back for Minnesota. You're still going down.. it's Tubby Time!
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) Iowa State really f***ing sucks without Wes Johnson. Glad to hear it. You guys are going down on the 20th!

    f*** the ending to that episode..
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 11:19 PM) Breakdown of the Big 10 here: http://basketballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=34 Interesting but quick and easy read if you have a couple minutes. Interesting read, yes, but if thats a preview, then I'm a monkey's uncle. What kind of preview hardly talks about half of the teams in a conference?
  14. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 10:06 PM) Kentucky and UConn are both going to struggle big time this year. Gardner-Webb is better than people realize, but UK is just ugly and has no interior defense. They'll miss Tubby... and their loss is our gain
  15. chili + beans = fantastic I need to get better at making it though..
  16. Felix replied to CWSGuy406's topic in SLaM
    I haven't seen the new episode yet, but I was told it was bad.
  17. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) This just in: Minnesota is beyond awful. Felix, that wasn't you on the field hitting tackling dummies, was it? We're so bad.. but I think we might be better than Notre Dame
  18. woo Gophers! I'm also going to be on Fox 9 tonight.. a friend of mine and I got interviewed (asked a question) by a reporter in the stands before the game

    QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 10:37 AM) Sounds more like David Wells syndrome... fat, lazy, and looking for his next big contract. I was more talking about how people think he's becoming a FA before he actually is, but yeah, that one too (I'd still love to have him on the team )

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 09:37 AM) Miguel Cabrera will not be a free agent until the end of the 2009 season. He's got the Joe Crede syndrome.
  21. Felix replied to Allsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
    Torii is going to be overpaid and is incredibly overrated. I really hope we aren't the team that signs him.
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 08:12 AM) Their is no one who does these jobs for a living unless they have some money in the bank or has another job that lets them work the odd hours. They are not full-time jobs and probably pay less than $4000 for the season. $50 a game is probably max. and even that may be high. These things are listed every year, and may not even be available. They are resume jobs. Clearly not for people who are trying to make a career out of it, they're for people who are interested in getting a job in sports. These sorts of jobs are the first steps.
  23. The fact that no one here has said candy corn is quite disappointing.
  24. None are in the field I'm aiming for (communications). Plus, I already have a job for next summer with the Utah Jazz & Salt Lake Bees. The Sox are definitely where I'm looking to work summer after next though, I'll keep an eye on this site, thanks
