QUOTE(Reddy @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) seriously? No, he's at 12, and if thats "approaching" 20 homeruns, then Scott Podsednik is approaching 10.

QUOTE(rowand @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) Im back after a week long bullshaat suspension. Here ya go negative sox fans, remember about 10 days ago when I posted this? Now maybe you believe in your team. I was also terribly disapointed when I went to Sunday's game. I sat on the aisle (left field/3rd base line) and countless fans walked right past my view during pitches and at bats. Obviously a real baseball fan knows you can only go down the ailse if it is in between: (1) batters (2) during a pitching change (3) innings Do we really want these type of fans at the park? Sure they are buying tickets and supporting the team, but come on, I couldn't even watch the game half the time. Where are the ushers stopping this? whine whine whine whine Look, I used to hate bandwagoners, and I still don't like what they stand for, but the bottom line is, their money plays a big part in this team having a payroll of 100+ million, which plays a big part in having this team own one of the best records in baseball.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) Another thing I don't understand is why is it assumed that Fields has tremendous power and Sweeney has none? Fields has 5 more homers than Sweeney in about 40 more plate appearances. Power is not just homeruns, it's also doubles, triples, etc. This year alone, Sweeney has a .459 SLG%, while Fields is at .525. Thats a considerable difference.

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 11:25 AM) Let Pods go and sign Carlos Lee. Rectify the mistake that we made two years ago. Then we can trade Brian Anderson and put Jerry Owens in CF, rectifying another mistake we made this season.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) I own an Aaron Rowand jersey. Same QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) 1. Ivan Rodriguez is NOT PUDGE!!! There was a Pudge, who was a catcher, and even played in the same league for a while. You may have heard of him. He's in the Hall of Fame. And I'm sorry but, Mr. Rodriguez, you are no Pudge.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) The division race has been over for 2 or 3 weeks now. The Tigers will now win 101 games if they play .500 ball the rest of the way, so just give it up. teehee QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) I have officially conceded the division to Detroit. I'm now 100% focused on the WC. So for tomorrow and Wednesday -- go Tigers! teehee (i'm sure there are more, I just don't feel like looking too hard and these two popped out at me when I opened the thread)
-
Boston, the division isn't over.

QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) where's the guy that predicted we'd go like 60-12 after the ASB? That was hilarious. His preseason post was just as good, although he did edit it with more "realistic" predictions. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) I believe Poppy was banned. Whoever did that,

Added myself with what my location will be in a little over 2 weeks, rather than where I am now.
-
Excellent dominating game. Hopefully this will continue in the next two games

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) Blue Jays vs Tigers? I'd take this Tigers offense right now. The Blue Jays have a high batting average, but they have some easier outs in their lineup than the Tigers. Plus, the Blue Jays aren't playing nearly as good as they have all year recently. They're going through their slump.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) I'm not watching that game either, and I'm more surprised that you're joking. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) BTW....I'm taping the Bears game, and will watch it later. Please don't spoil the inevitable "crap, Grossman just got stretchered off". QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) Crap.. Grossman just got stretchered off stupid internet ruining jokes
-
Heed Hawk's advice. Keep your butts down.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Is Grossman really hurt? No, I'm not even watching the game (and can't). I posted it as a joke

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) FWIW, someone who saw the Knights game last night said that Logan looked fantastic. He's not a fan of Logan, so for him to say that, he must have looked good. Nice post from a Cubs fan. lol I wish I could watch the Bears game.. hopefully there will be clips up online somewhere since I'm going to be missing Sportscenter tomorrow (which probably wouldn't show much anyway)

Crap.. Grossman just got stretchered off
-
Yea, I didn't expect him to get the runner at first. Nice play by Cintron
-
Good job getting the ball into the infield.
-
AJP Whoa, a different homerun call this time

QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) i'd love to see JD take another bag right here Yea, with I-Rod behind the plate. Definitely.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Jim Thome is going deep tonight, I gaurantee it. wins.

Make them pay, insurance runs are nice

QUOTE(jenksd @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) But the fielder fielded it then bobbled it into the stands, how is that any different from a player throwing it into the stands? Did Cintron make a turn at first at all? Wouldn't that be 2 bases in that case? He never had possession of the ball, which is probably why he didn't get 2 bases.

Same pitch (or at least, very similar) twice. First time, batter doesn't swing and its called a ball. Second time, batter swings and misses. I like how that works out.
