  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) Where do you find that RATE statistic for CF's? I'll go through individually and see who has the best. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/ -> Find Player -> DT Card -> "Fielding Statistics as Center Fielder"
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) YAY! Smiling manager and pitcher! Thats the first thing I thought too
  3. Nearly all players get put on waivers after the trade deadline passes, and most are claimed. For some reason, the media thinks its a big deal that Andruw Jones was claimed, so they are running with it. The Braves have a choice to trade Jones to the team that claimed him, pull Jones back (meaning he'd stay a Brave), or letting Jones go to the team that claimed him. Unfortunetly for the Braves, if they want to trade Jones, he has 10/5 rights, meaning he can veto any trade.
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) I smell CG I smell recently cut grass. My neighbor is mowing his lawn.
  5. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) Just once, I want to see Tad argue with an ump. Ichiro did that earlier this year. Sportscenter made a big deal out of it, and I found it hilarious. He got into a staredown with the ump
  6. Pods never dropped the bat.. lol QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:29 PM) Thanks. Hope he's ok. Someone posted earlier in the thread it was day-to-day, he'll probably sit out tomorrow.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:27 PM) Wasn't around earlier...why did Crede get subbed out? Tweaked his back on a swing it looked like.
  8. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) Just walked in and came here first, sounds like Javy is holding his own. Earlier in the week it sounded like Coop and he had changed something up. Who knows.... He did. Coop is having him stand over towards first base more and keeping his bottom half down. Javy has looked excellent. Like, really, really good.
  9. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) is it possible that coop might have fixed javvy He's looked damn good, but this is only one start. Let's see it happen consistantly. Either way, this Javy is nice
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:13 PM) I feel like that Seinfeld episode where Kramer is driving the car with the salesman to see how far they the needle goes, risking running out of gas. I love that episode.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:07 PM) Is anyone better? And if so, who? I can't find a sortable list for it unfortunetly.
  12. Funny never hurt so good. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Still 14 higher than Andruw, and 18 higher than Rowand. Oh yea, it's still a very good defensive season
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) Balta, can you find the article about BA's defense from BP again? I just looked it up and he has a RATE of 116, which I think is down a little? It's down a lot (was 124 when the article was written). http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=5200
  14. Lets hope this doesn't effect Javy. He's been great today.
  15. Pablo made that close, but I'm not a fan of the face first slide into first. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Well you know what this means. He wont play tomorrow, because of Ozzies you come out of a game for injury you dont play the next day crap. Crap? He plays it safe, which is smart. You don't want to risk a long injury just to have the player in an extra game.
  16. stupid fences. Our offense is clicking today, excellent contact
  17. The Paulie chant leads to a single, nice to see the Sox fans making themselves heard.
  18. How is that the drive of the game? I'd take Dye's triple over that.
  19. I thought that hit the foul pole? QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) I thought that hit the foul pole? bah, I guess not.
  20. Why couldn't Ozzie put Mack at third rather than Pablo?
