  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH OUR FIFTH STARTER The game is still young.
  2. man, I wish he had that triple in Baltimore Excellent opposite field gap power.. we've gone the other way A LOT today (and recently for that matter)
  3. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) OMG a hit and run sighting lol We've had them.. they've just failed usually.
  4. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) Felix! I want that thing in my sig but with my teams!! PM's work better.
  5. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) where the f has that slider been all yr Hanging.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) I don't want to sound like I'm complaining about a hit, but does anyone else think Crede should've been on third? If he had any speed, yes, but Rios seemed to bounce off the wall pretty well and recognize where the ball was immediately.
  7. I like the patience our hitters are showing. This guy is wild, its nice to see them not giving him any help.
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) Gosh damn. At-bats like THOSE are why I still hold out a little bit of hope for Javy to turn it around. His pure stuff is nasty, and right there, that was a great job of attacking Cat. Couple of fastballs away, good movement to the corner, and that nasty slider down and in to finish him off. :sigh So much f'n potential... Exactly. He's a great pitcher for the first 5 innings or so.. if only he could keep it going for 7 or so innings.
  9. QUOTE(Chopper2Hopper @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) Anybody notice a difference in Javy's delilvery? Seems he might be following through differntly, though I could be just looking too hard. He's doing something different. Standing closer to 1B, and keeping his lower half down.
  10. QUOTE(soxunited @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) not what i meant. Molina has had difficulty throwing batters out. Zaun is bit better at it I thought Molina was a good defensive catcher, although I could be mixing him up with his brother in St. Louis (or whatever relation they have).
  11. QUOTE(soxunited @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) Remember Molina isn't going to be throwing, Pods Didn't bother him yesterday. Nice job Pods
  12. They are tough to find pictures for. There are pictures on Gettyimages (none that are in-game for the Sox organization), but they have a watermark on them unless you are special. I like how the caption for a few of the pictures on google images is "Lance Broadway is not a porn star" from SouthSideSox
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 12:23 PM) I actaully think the LACK of work is catching up to him. He needs to be out there on a consistant basis, and with the way the 2nd half has gone, he hasnt been able to be out there in save situations every few days like he should. But when he gets put out for 3 games in the Baltimore series and blows the third game, people blame Ozzie for giving him TOO much work.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) Jinx. I bet he gives one up in his next start.
  15. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) I'm rather certain that VORP doesn't factor in defense to a players specific position. In fact: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary...php?search=VORP
  16. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Have you taken a look at Anderson's VORP (taking into account his total value (both defense and offense)? It is abysmal. I'm rather certain that VORP doesn't factor in defense to a players specific position.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) momentum shift in the season occuring tonight! People say this after nearly every win. Gotta be right sometime..
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Runs scored by the Sox since I left: 4 Home runs by AJ since I left: 1 Increase in my BAC since I left: .06 Wars started by the Jews in the world: All of them. Nice work Offense, Garland, and BMac. I love that kid.
  19. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) konerko tryin to end his season.. jesus we don't need that No, he's trying to be safe at first. And he succeeded. And it's now resulted in an insurance run.
  20. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) His season as a whole has been horrible. In the last month, he has been mediocre. (.328 OBP, .469 SLG in July). I recognize that Anderson and Garland are doing better recently than for the first three months of the season, but in evaluating them, I'm not going to pretend that the only thing that is releveant is their recent performance. That would make for some pretty weak analysis. Not to be ignorant of Anderson's performance to start the year, but with prospects, its different. It was obvious in the beginning of the year that Anderson wasn't comfortable, and his numbers reflected it. He hadn't adjusted to the bigs yet. Now, he's comfortable at the plate, swinging much better, and is adjusted to major league pitching. For that reason, I do think that his current performance is the most relevant piece of information. For a player who has been in the bigs for many years, its different, but I don't agree that its the same with prospects who are just coming into the league.
