  1. Osiris has basically decided to take over it seems.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) The Valley is a low scoring league and a down league this year to boot, so I don't get the bolded. One of the various ISU fanboys brought up two of Illinois's low scoring games as a knock on them being the best team in Illinois earlier this year. Because of this, I simply assumed ISU scored 200 points a game. ISU has really played some good defense so far in the second half though.
  3. 19 points in the first half for ISU. I'm in awe at how much these non-Big Ten teams score. Osiris also looks like complete s*** right now offensively. And now everything is changing. Should be a fun one to watch.
  4. I hope we still make the tournament. It'd be a real shame, considering how that Michigan game went.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) Or think if they didn't collapse against Clemson, @ Michigan and @ Michigan State, or if they could have just hit any shot against PSU the first time. This team could easily be about 29-2 or 28-3. The only clear beatings were @ Minnesota and @ Wisconsin. The rest can be chalked up to terrible end game play. I've been nothing but impressed with Weber's job this year. I expected to be a middle of the road big ten team. But they were in the title hunt in the last week. A title hunt against real competition (cough *Memphis* cough). The next 3-4 years are going to be one of the historic runs for the program I think. Lots of veteran talent mixed with raw talent and great coaching = multiple big ten titles and a couple of runs at the NCAA championship IMO. This is when I bring up the fact that the Gophers are going to be in the same exact position in the next few years, and frankly, I'd take Tubby Smith over Bruce Weber any day of the week when it comes to coaching. Hell, I'd also take our 2009 recruiting class over the Illini recruiting class, but that's a different story all together.
  6. QUOTE (T R U @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 02:55 AM) Then rush it in the big 10 tourny I saw no point in it tonight, maybe everyone should rush the floor when they win with a last second shot regardless of who they were playing. Its stupid. Yes, they should take their entire student section to Indianapolis and then rush the court in the first game they win (if they win one at all). Genius idea. I mean seriously. It's Penn State basketball. When was the last time they were anything other than terrible? Are you really going to whine about them rushing the court after beating one of the better teams in the Big Ten when their season was over if they had lost? Now they have a real shot at making the NCAA Tournament for the first time in forever, rushing the court was definitely acceptable.
  7. QUOTE (T R U @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 09:58 PM) And the Penn State faithful rush the court after knocking off #1 and previously undefeated Illinois! Or they rush the court because their chances of making the tournament are dramatically higher, assuming they hold their own in the Big Ten Tournament.
  8. It's funny to look at how far our farm system has come in just a few years. We certainly still have a lot of prospects that people overrate a bit, but it's really nice to see a farm system with some prospects that have relatively bright futures ahead.

    Baltimore

The aquarium is awesome, as is Camden Yards. The inner harbor is basically the only area to check out, unless you really want to be mugged. If you go to the ESPN Zone, expect a long line. Last time I was in Baltimore the wait would have been 3 hours just to get in.
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) Will Minnesota rush the court if they win? A month ago there was no way to possibly believe that Wisconsin could win. But things change, and I think that Wisconsin will find a way to eek this one out and make up for the horrible choke job at Madison. A win tonight and the Badgers start to guarantee a NCAA berth. Nope. There was some talk about rushing the court, but no one did. I definitely would have if the other people did, two wins over Wisconsin is unheard of.
  11. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 10:25 AM) imo, carlos zambranos contract is a bad one. why is he worth almost 20mil? what has he really accomplished? isnt 16 games the most hes ever won? i dont know, buehrle has accomplished way more and while pitching in the a.l. its just that z gets the ks i guess. It's actually probably because he has a 3.48 career ERA in a hitter's ballpark. I don't think he's worth the money he's making (especially since it's escalating as he gets older), but that's because I don't think anyone is worth the money they get in baseball. Zambrano's deal should probably be there ahead of some others (such as AJ's mention), but it's not Barry Zito level quite yet.
  12. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) Sitting out in left center field, you certainly feel more of a draft when the Twins bat. I've had many games to test this hypothesis. Without a doubt. I go to a number of Twin games a year, and it's something that is definitely true.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 12:49 AM) Tell him I said hi back. And he's definitely one of the better defenders in the conference. But it should come down to Chester/Johnson. DJ is #3 in the Big Ten in steal percentage and #2 in the Big Ten in block percentage, above both Chester Taylor and JuJuan Johnson in both categories. That plus his pure dominance on the floor defensively is enough to convince me that he's the most deserving candidate in the conference.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 05:16 AM) We've been shuttin' down other team's best backourt players all year. If Chester Frazier doesn't win Big-10 DPOY the award needs to be abolished. And that's not me being a homer. I actually thought JaJuan Johnson was the front-runner a few weeks ago. But Chet is just lockin' up everybody right now. Damian Johnson says hi.
  15. QUOTE (aprec32 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 01:10 AM) Please realize that after we got swept in the first 3 games at Wrigley, that if we lost any of the following 3 games at the Cell........we wouldn't have won the divisions and wouldn't have made the playoffs. I realize that the 19 other games against the Twins are much more important. But please do not state that "The Cubs series means absolutely nothing in the context of baseball, and it has basically nothing to do with our team making or missing the playoffs." Clearly that statement is not very intelligent as you can pick out any game and make the conclusion that all 162 games are important! That is the truth......Cubs fan or not! Oh, each game is important and could be the difference between being in the playoffs or not? I didn't realize that, thanks. I thought the league only counted the ones that we deemed important and the other ones were just for fun. And no, I'm not a Cub fan. I don't know where you got that idea.
  16. Absolutely pathetic performance by the Minnesota guards today, but at least DJ looked like he cared. DJ was the best player out there without a doubt, and while Iverson and Sampson plays alright inside, it's not enough when your guards play as terrible as they did today.
  17. Anyone watching tonights game now knows why I think DJ is a golden god.
  18. Great start for Damian Johnson in the Illini/Gopher game.
  19. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) Mostly because the people running the league have no intention of spending the $30 to upgrade when the one we're using runs fine for our purposes. We've also had problems with people on newer versions trying to run our file in the past, it has had to be on Opening Day of whatever year in order to import the league (not sure if they fixed that or not). Yes, a league has to be on opening day to import the league. I don't really see how that would be a problem though.
  20. I think the amount of hate White Sox fans have for the Cubs is annoying and stupid. The Cubs series means absolutely nothing in the context of baseball, and it has basically nothing to do with our team making or missing the playoffs. The games against the Twins, on the other hand, actually have relevance to our playoff chances and should be considered much more important than the six games against the Cubs. I do realize that Cub fans are annoying, but that has absolutely no impact on whether or not our team is successful.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 10:16 AM) If the Twins made the World Series and won it, I wouldn't care at all. I can't say that would be even close to being true about the Cubs. The Twins are our rival...the Cubs are our enemy. Honestly, that's really sad. You wouldn't care that our main rival won the World Series? The Twins are our competition if we ever want to win anything. The Cubs? 6 games.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) I'm sure it's just me, but the "dark side" for the White Sox would be the Cubs. The Cubs don't matter.
  23. Why are you guys still using 6.5 when OOTP 10 was just announced? You can convert the league to the newer game. You lose your history, but that's what keeping 6.5 installed with a copy of the old league is for.
