Yeah that's basically what I was asking. These guys like CJ Henry and Lillibridge hit the s*** out of the ball their whole baseball lives then they completely suck once they sign pro contracts.
The level of competition in high school and college is completely different than in the pros. It's not easy to project how a guy out of high school is going to look in 5 or 6 years. On the other hand, college grads are easier to project because they have so much experience and exposure, but even when they get to the minors they are seeing better competition than they've ever played against. Top prospects are projections, and are far from being guaranteed future studs. Any number of things could go wrong for them, whether it be a lack of adjustments to professional pitchers or something completely mental.
