  1. Uh...Lillibridge in for Getz...so I guess Oz quit. That's fine (I guess).
  2. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) Am I the only one that still thinks we win this game? Yes.
  3. 3 OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 7 runs allowed.
  4. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) I'm watching and didn't see what Anderson did. Please explain instead of saying "Anderson is hilarious." He requested the song.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 07:54 PM) On that of course I'll agree. But then I'll point out where you're wrong...that Ozzie never had any intention of treating Anderson as a full time player in 2006 (although his attitude may have contributed to that.) Rob Mackowiak was starting in CF in game 2 of the regular season. He got his largest number of at bats of the season in May (although it's hard to disagree with that because he was absolutely raking with the bat). It was a platoon from day 1, and neither the fact that Anderson's bat slightly improved during the season, the fact that Anderson hit righties better than he hit lefties, or the fact that Mack hit .194 in September was going to change that. I don't know what Oz intended, but I have no evidence to say you are wrong.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) 2 things. The disclaimer covers dangers associated with crowds. Also the judge is going to acknowledge that the party knowingly purchased a ticket to be in a large crowd of people and therefore put themselves in that situation under their own will. Dangers associated with crowds related to non-baseball activities? No. The ticket is specific to the GAME, which is baseball. If this were a foul ball or a home run ball hit into the stands, then that disclaimer may be enough, but in this case, they likely could not disclaim the risk without an extremely specific waiver. That disclaimer was not enough in this case. Soxbadger is likely right. This is a question of fact.
  7. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 05:40 PM) I agree that BA should be starting in CF over Wise because we have no other options,BA hasn't shown us anything offensively,he played all 2006 and he sucked big time...he should be out there based on his D... You know what pisses me off? At the beginning of 2006, Ozzie said all BA has to do is play good defense and hit as best he could. He then pulled BA because he wasn't hitting enough and put an incompetent Mackowiak, in center. IMO, that decision cost the Sox a playoff spot (Balta would probably agree ). Now we have Wise in there and he sucks. BA should be starting and batting 9th. In the long run it will be better for the team. (I've been drinking, so disregard if this makes no sense).
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 03:57 AM) I like Getz but it's not like he's Rickey Henderson. He's going to be Getz. Yes. And if Getz turns out to be the Getz from the minors the Sox will have a decent lead off hitter. You don't need a HOFer at every position to have a good team. But you do need someone competent.
  9. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) quentin busts lose this inning... Not if Davies keeps it low and away.
  10. Four meat and four cheese pizza hot pockets are awesome.
  11. Wise swings and misses. Hawk says it was his best swing of the season...yikes. Ground out.
  12. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) At least our pitching has looked great so far. Hitting....well.... It's April. It's never that good in April.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:53 AM) A picture is worth a thousand actions, and pictures speak louder than words. Wait...something's wrong here... HA. Well my point is only that everything indicated he wanted Wise to take the job and give him the opportunity without having to look over his shoulder. Suddenly, Ozzie's mind is changed? Maybe it was his decision, but I think there was some influencing.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:48 AM) It took 2 games last year for Alexei to go from starting in CF to the bench with Q taking over LF. This is Ozzie's normal pace. I'm basing it on his statements, not his past.
  15. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:36 AM) At least ozzie sacked up and admitted his wrong by taking him out of the leadoff spot. I personally would have stuck with my decision for a longer time to avoid immediate embarassment after so many arm chair fans outcoached you. Honestly, I doubt this was Ozzie's decision. In a Trib article this morning he said: Trib I think KW requested that he reconsider the lead off position, otherwise that's a really quick change of heart.
