  1. I'd say CQ has to be moved down, but there's no one to replace him.
  2. QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) The sad part about this game is that Jose has the best fastball I've seen from him all year, consistently in the 93-94 range If he could have gotten bite on the forkball, I think he'd have about 6 Ks by now, along with no runs. Jose goes as his forkball goes. The Royals have him at 89 on the fastball so...
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) So I didn't know Harden has a 7 mil team option for next year. This is a fantastic deal for the Cubs then, as this isn't a rental. My brother had a chance to talk to a scout tonight, and he was shocked the A's didn't get more than this for Harden AND Gaudin. The scout thought Harden must be hurt. The name that pops into my head is Freddie Garcia. I guess only time will tell.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 06:38 PM) The physical that pends that trade will show that. You can't trade an injured player. The Sox traded Freddie Garcia.
  5. I feel like the A's could have done better, but what do I know. Leads me to believe that no one else believed Harden would be healthy.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 05:26 PM) That's an insane trade, as there's serious concerns about Harden's health. They had little choice after the Brewers got CC.
  7. Hendry is on Comcast.
  8. Apparently Sean Gallagher is one player.
  9. I threw this in the catch all, but if it happens I figure it deserves its own thread. B&B are reporting Harden to Cubs might be happening. Lou skipped his press conference and the thought is that something big is going down. No clue as to what the A's would want.
  10. B&B are reporting that Harden MIGHT be headed to the Cubs. Nothing is confirmed, but Lou did not go to his press conference, from the sound of things, and supposedly Harden is the reason. AL is losing pitchers fast.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) Way to wait until there's two strikes to steal....what a dumb f***ing move. The worst loss of the year in my opinion, as we completely outplayed them. That's all they ever do. Pablo is a dumb player. I can't imagine Oz is telling him to wait. Wise went on first pitch a couple games ago.
  12. Well they weren't going to beat Lee, CC, and Duchsereerererer. 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
  13. Boy good thing Pablo is pinch running. Otherwise we couldn't just sit on 1st base.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 02:34 AM) What I don't understand is how Bobby Jenks can throw harder than Octavio Dotel with just as good, if not better breaking ball, and still have way lower strike out numbers. Jenks throws down and Dotel throws up (so to speak) in the zone. It's easier to get to a low fastball than a high one. When Jenks had his best fastball, he threw higher. I heard all this a couple games ago on the broadcast.
  15. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 3, 2008 -> 02:52 AM) DOH!!!...I just got so excited though! The only downside I can see to this is...if this is just a short-term thing with Stoney or not. DJ says see ya....and the Stoney bolts onto something else in a few years. We could get stuck with something worse (Singletonish).... Actually, watching Singleton on BBTN makes me wonder what the hell was going on in that booth. I'm curious to see what would happen in DJ left and was paired with a real PBP guy.
  16. ARam with a grounder to 2nd. 1 out.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 10:21 PM) Didn't we get 2 runs off that guy in 2 innings last time we played them at home? No. He has allowed 1 run in 4 innings against the Sox.
  18. Kobayashi will be in for the Tribe.
  19. Only one guy in that lineup can hit and you let him beat your ass.
  20. and Sizemore ties it. great f***in job.
  21. Swisher rolls one over to 3rd. Inning over.
