  1. well it certainly takes out the fun when you watch the game on the internet because right now were losing to the rockies 2 -0 in the first. Lets see if our offense can at least make contact with the ball.
  2. you might want to add MacDougal throwing a wild pitch and injuring joe crede.
  3. Aaron Rowand admits he is biased, but he believes third baseman Joe Crede would be a tremendous fit with the San Francisco Giants. And he knows the front office is thinking hard about acquiring his former Chicago White Sox teammate the San Jose Mercury News reported. That's because Giants officials asked Rowand to provide a character reference. Crede, 29, is coming off an injury-shortened, 47-game season and had surgery to alleviate a herniated disk in June. He reported to White Sox camp proclaiming to be healthy, and the Giants will monitor him closely this spring. Expendable because of the emergence of Josh Fields at third, Crede hit 30 home runs and drove in 94 runs in 2006."They inquired and asked about what kind of guy he is," Rowand said. "They obviously know what he can do as a baseball player." Source: San Jose Mercury News
  4. I can care less about what he says. He better do it on the field thats where it counts.
  5. I don't know if I really like this deal if it works out. Bartolo has the ability to be dominate on the mound only if he is healthy. I still think we should have delt Crede to the Giants for Noah Lowry.
  6. QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Nov 28, 2007 -> 03:32 PM) The Twins are reportedly completing a trade to Tampa of Garza, Bartlett and Rincon for Delmon Young, Jason Pirdie and Brendan Harris. I'm sorry to say this but I just have a bad feeling that the Twins will quickly reload by trading Santana and Nathan thus adding even more elite young talent. This is what I wanted the Sox to do last year but instead KW's going for it all. Could the Twins actually add enough young talent this year to finish ahead of the big payroll, veteran laden, going for it all White Sox ? With K.C. willing to overspend on FA's and KW having such a difficult time filling all the holes, I'm worried that the Sox and their fans could truly regret not going the rebuilding route. Someone please tell me that I'm wrong. After we sign Rowand we should look into getting Miguel Cabrera to play third. Then deal Fields, Crede and Uribe for Johan Santana and some relievers.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) Stupid question but did Frank retire? Or is this broadcasting thing a temporary gig for now? Frank hasn't retired. Ted Turner wanted a player with American League experience and in knowledge. Frank Thomas is from Atlanta and he was exactly who they were looking for. It's temporary kind of like Mike Piazza commented during the 05 playoffs.
  8. why don't we call up Gavin Floyd or Broadway and put them in our bullpen.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 18, 2007 -> 10:10 AM) I just don't understand why the White Sox let the media bother them so much. What did Ozzie think he would accomplish by calling in and arguing on the air? I have to say is that the media has had a stranglehold over our organization. I know when I say this I am probably going to get a lot of flock but with all the exposure the Cubs have gotten in the past decades and the Tribune it kind of puts us in a different light. We take what criticism we get very seriously. I think our Organization is sensitive to that stuff because I think deep down we enjoy being the underdogs. If you look at all our former players who left they all have had something negative pretty much to say. We take pride and we don't take s*** from nobody. Mike North has a right to criticize as a fan but Ozzie is Ozzie. I personally don't care for Mike North. I don't agree with most of his opinions on his show. AJ was misquoted on his morning show and Mike North being the Cub fan that he is wanted to get under Ozzie's skin. I think the media tries to piss Ozzie off because its gives them something to write about.
  10. Seriously I mean we know what this ball club can do and I am bothered by the fact that we have great talent and yet we can't get any runs across on the board. I don't blame Ozzie for any of this, in fact I agree with his managing style. I don't mind that he starts our bench players more then other ball clubs; in fact I think it helps improve team chemistry. I am confident that some time our team will come around and start hitting on a consistent level. I mean our pitching isn't that bad. It’s just that they need to come around soon because we don't play in a very forgiving division.
  11. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070406/ap_on_bi_ge/tribune_zell "Earlier this week, Zell, who owns part of the Chicago Bulls and White Sox, announced he'd sell the Cubs at the end of the season. In the interview, he said he might sell Wrigley Field separately."
  12. Well if we lose Dye we should be already investing in replacements. I just don't know.
  13. dude what is with all the ozzie hate??? I mean its only been one season since winning it all and now some people want him shipped out of town? I agree some of his calls I questioned in 06 but honestly I think he knows what hes doing and I like his baseball mentality.
  14. found this on espn. Others who expressed interest in buying the Cubs recently include Chicago businessman Don Levin, owner of the Chicago Wolves minor-league hockey team, and a prospective ownership group of 15 investors that includes Tom Begel, chairman of Chicago-based TMB Industries.
  15. can someone tell me what channel the game is on cause I can't seem to find it for my dvr?
  16. what are the chances this new owner of the cubs decides to ship the cubs out of town? LOL
  17. LMFAO You got to be kidding me again. Yeah when is the next MRI scheduled. How many times can these guys get hurt. They aren't worth a dime.
  18. Because hes a cardinal's fan. Doesn't mean anything.
  19. well going into the 05 season none of us knew what we were going to expect. The media was crying failure but you know we just have to trust in KW. He made some gutsy trades prior to 05 and it worked out. We can't predict the weather nor the future we can only assume. I believe in the 07 sox more then the 06. We just need to trust in Kenny.
  20. my brother just ran into jon garland and bobby jenks in an elevator.
  21. you know what KW's logic might not make sense but prior to the 05 season he made some moves that left us scratching our heads. Hence trading Carlos Lee and Jose Valentin. He made some questionable trades to get us a World Championship. Do I agree with him trading McCarthy? I don't know yet only time will tell. As hard as it is we must trust in KW.
