QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) What's up soxtalkers? I recently got a new job three weeks ago, and I have yet to go to a game straight from work. Tomorrow, that changes. I need to know what you guys think would be the better route leaving Mount Prospect between 4 and 4:30. Should I take 294 S 90 E exit 55A (35th) OR 294 S 55 N 94 E i know 90 takes me by O'Hare, but its the more direct route. I'm used to coming from the Naperville area, but obviously don't have a choice tomorrow. Thanks for the help. Your from mount prospect. I'm from Arlington Heights. My Dad lives in MP near the train station and we usually go through des plains and take 294 heading south and get off on congress park way and as soon as I get I turn on to Canal street and from there just head further south all the way down to 31st. We park at Lot C mostly. Its a way of avoiding all the traffic to the game.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) Dan Patrick show says that KW is incredibly interested in Griffey, and a deal may go down... and hawk, he would play centerfield... i hate to be the one to start this thread, but I just heard this seconds ago... anyone know who might be departing from our organization for this trade?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 02:18 AM) Apparently Grimsley ratted out several guys....that could be interesting. I am so sick of hearing about steriods. :puke I honestly say that this is the McCarthy era of baseball and no I do not mean Brandon.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Can't you just make one up? [email protected], [email protected], etc. try this. I have a few of my cub friend emails just use their votes for our players.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 07:54 AM) Garland, Rogowski, ?....the only minor leaguer I do not want to give up right now is Sweeney. yeah but if miguel keeps b****ing about not wanting to play in baltimore they might get rid of him.

QUOTE(UC76 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) I just saw Carlos Zambrano have a no-hitter broken up in the eighth - again! - and had this thought on my mind so I figured I'd post it: Wouldn't Zambrano switching to the South Side someday make sense? After all, he's a Venezuelan. I could see Ozzie talking to KW and persuading him to bring in one of his peeps. Personally, even though he's a Cub, I'm a big fan of Zambrano. Nobody plays with more passion and that style would fit in just fine with Ozzie's wear-it-on-your-sleeve personality. I've also seen Z at Bulls games, so he seems to be into Chicago and might be inclined to stay in town. Oh, and he's also a damn good pitcher. And young. I'm not talking about a midseason trade or anything. Hell, I don't even know his contract status off the top of my head. I just think that someday the crazy Venezuelan might be a good fit with the Pale Hose. Honestly, I think hes a good SP but I don't want him on our team. I think hes a nut and would not gel well with the players in our club house.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) Family obligation yesterday... graduation party I think. makes sense. Ozzie values family more than baseball, So im sure the whole organization said it was alright.

QUOTE(TLAK @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Anybody know if something is up with Man Soo? I didn't see him at the game today. Didn't look like it was planned either. Don Cooper, himself, started Buerhle's long toss until Widger came running out and took over. Montero handled the between inning OF warm up until he went in the game, then Kevin Hickey, I think. And Art Kushner actually warmed up a couple guys until AJ went out there. Kush is pushing 60, God bless him. A lot going on because one guy is absent. Plus no bubble gum toss on Kids' day. . he was at the game last night. He seemed fine.

QUOTE(brijames @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) This team has lost the edge it had last season. They don't have that fire or chip on their shoulder that they played with last year. I guess thats what happens when you finally win the whole thing. This team is not talented enough to just show up and win. They have to do all the little things, the hustle plays, like they did all last season. I can accept losing when the team at least competes. It's time for somebody on this team to stand up and let it be known this isn't acceptable. I will not be at all shocked if the Tigers come in this week and sweep. They are a hungry ballclub, much like the 2005 Sox. They will make this series out to be a very big deal. The White Sox better get their collective heads out of their behinds and do the same. I don't think it has to do with the lack of motivation. I will agree they don't have a chip on their shoulder, and the media hasn't been very negative recently all put aside Jay Moronotti but I don't see how that would be preventing them from winning games. It's our pitching and failer to get the bat on the ball. I mean alot of our pitchers are not putting the ball where they were most effective and alot of are hitters are swinging at bad pitches and taking what they can hit. Were not excuting on either ends of the game not like last season. Part of it is that everyone is gunning for us right now cause we are the champs. They are going to try to beat us at all odds to have some sort of glory. But I have faith that the sox will come around. "Don't Stop Believin'" Once they get hot they will be unstoppable.

hopefully we can bring this losing streak to an end tonight. I will be there.

Rumor heard during Phillies-Dodgers game...
WinningUgly85 replied to AWhiteSoxinNJ's topic in Pale Hose Talk
you got to be kidding me we just traded him. Has this ever been done before with a team? I mean I would love to have Rowand back but what makes these philly fans think that their organization would give up Rowand for Garland. -
QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Crawford has a great contract and the D-Ray's outfield is crowded. He should become available by the trade deadline. What do you think it would cost the Sox to get him? From what I hear the Rays want young pitchers. I don't think BA is that big of a problem, Im more worried about our pitching and Juan Uribe.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) Confirming the deal or confirming that there's speculation? that is not a bad trade at all for Jerry Hairston with incentives for Phil Nevin. I also heard they got tony womack in a deal prior to this.

I grew up reading the comics and I even watched the Cartoon show. I liked this film but at the same time alot of things came to a shock to me. I felt that they shouldn't have killed off some key characters I felt that it ruined the franchise...hollywood never ceases to amaze me, how they can ruin a franchise just so that they can get more money.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 27, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) Garland gave up 13 ER and 22 hits over 11.2 IP against Toronto last year--and their lineup has improved since then. I EXPECT Garland to give up five runs tomorrow. I'd love for him to man up, pull up the panties and actually pitch, but we're talking about the reemergence of Judy here. Is it just me but do you panic when you know Garland is on the mound. I am praying for a turn around and for him to start playing like last season. Hawk says Jon has been off because he hasn't been putting his pitches on the inside. He needs to find his groove and fast.

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 27, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) The protest apperantly didn't work: well, unfortunately, i feel defeated. only because i didn't get the turnout i was hoping for. maybe 15 people. we were all on the score for 2 weeks, many blogs, but not a big turnout for support. we were interviewed by cbs and fox news so that was cool. the only thing i can hope we accomplished with this, is for it to be noticed by others and maybe start to grow somehow. oh well, i gave it shot. i feel exhausted, but trust me, we were heard! so much so, that the cubs had their merry old band come out near us and play music to try to drown us out. it didn't work though, we had a LOUD megaphone. gotta run, i'm out. thanks for the support. i'll send pics to you guys over at 1060. Bill hahaha The Tribune had a band to block out their protest.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:03 AM) Getting this second hand from another site but p/ the Score Barrett: 10 games + fine BA: 5 games + fine Cora: 2 games + fine AJP: fine wait AJ is getting fined for WHAT?!!! I can understand Brian getting a suspension and a fine but AJ all he did was slap home plate and walk toward his helmet. He didn't even fight back. Cora I thought was a rumor with him biting someone.
