  1. This right here. Ozzie is a relic. He is an outdated 8 track in a digital world.
  2. He did revisit his Monty Python call from the previous game.
  3. Ozzies kids were notorious for always being in the locker room.
  4. Which is funny, because his kids got opportunities because of who their dad is.
  5. Teachers are trying, but they also haven't gotten anything in the way of resources or training, which is the whole problem here. Somehow this has turned into teachers need to die to prop up the entire economy, or they need to figure out every single issue with remote learning to earn the right to not die at work.
  6. Who is giving these kids laptops and internet access?
  7. My contention all along is if the standard was going to be in person education mandated by the federal government, then they should provide the funds and resources to make it safe. To this time they haven't done so. There aren't many good options without a massive injection of funds to make other forms of education possible at a higher level. School funding has already been robbed for charter and religious schools, and public schools are having problems with just normal day to day stuff. They have no room for more unfunded mandates from the President. Just because the President doesn't care how many kids or teachers die, doesn't mean that the school systems shouldn't be able to make other choices than death. Hell, they want to talk about how traumatized kids are right now, how do you think a kid will feel when they give Covid to teacher who ends up dying? What about kids who are scared to death about being in public during a pandemic, why isn't their mental health important? Why? Because this is what the President wants. He wants to sabotage public education so it can be sold off to the private sector, so people like him can profit from it. The outrage shouldn't be aimed at CPS trying to make choices with no good ones on the table, it should be aimed at the federal government calculating that 0.02% of kids dying is OK, and no science will stand in their way of doing it.
  8. That's not what the President is talking about. He is literally threatening to withhold funding for schools which don't open in person, and his Press Secretary is blaming them for a rise in child abuse. If they are going to be for in-person education, they should get paid for every single job the President is saying that they are responsible for.
  9. Only if they start getting paid extra for hazard pay, virology, social worker, law enforcement, economic development, babysitter and every other lame excuse that has been made for why kids and teachers need to sacrifice their lives for the economy.
  10. Lack of funding for a normal school year is a regular problem. Now when you start throwing in all of the unfunded mandates being required to get back to school, most facilities don't' have these resources. On the opposite side of this, when you have a poverty issue like you do in Chicago, getting kids on a laptop and internet at home isn't an automatic thing. You can't make the assumption that this is normal.
  11. Are these baseball changes, or expense changes? That seems important here. We have seen a decent amount of turnover in a lot of departments with this team, and if that is a continuation of that it is completely different than saving a few bucks.
  12. It is a loss of revenue, which is probably what he is thinking of when he made that statement.
  13. My guess? This is one of those situations where it is the second set of books talking. Most team groups have a ton of money they make outside of things that fall under the "baseball" operations. Their local TV ownership, parking lots they own, etc. He is probably getting to "9 figures" by including everything they aren't making, instead of just the baseball stuff that Forbes reports. EDIT: And also remember that number wasn't supposed to reflect just the White Sox either, is was for the Sox and Bulls.
  14. When he stays on top of it, it is nasty. He almost put one into Vaughn's head, but he threw some just nasty curves up there at different times.
  15. If they really are going to let him log time over there, it gives him something to work on.
  16. I will fully admit feeling a tingle in my loins over that curveball.
