This is the most accurate statement in the entire thread. Most American's don't save at all. They also don't typically get bonus money, especially in the lower brackets, so this is the one time a year that they can run into a large amount of cash in one setting. While it might not be much to many people, it is a BIG deal to a lot of lower income households.

That's not really true. The big problem is the Sox are never the ones offering the biggest money. If you listened this off season, no one has actually said they didn't want to play for the White Sox. There have been plenty that said they didn't want to play for Philadelphia, including both Machado and Harper, if the reports are true.

Rule #1: No one WANTS to go to Philly.

Draftees can be traded after the World Series of their draft year. They did it to close a loophole where people were trading guys as PTBNL in deals and just sitting on it until the deadline passed. Now you can't be in any deal at all until after the world series, even as PTBNL.
