    They seem to be having much better luck with guys who are good pitchers without the big upsides.
  3. And it'll be nice to see Miguel Olivo again, along with Jeremy Reed and Valdez.
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) For those who don't know, we went to Opening Day and quickman's seats are right next to these four guys. These guys are like XL jugheads with buzz cuts and they all blond and they all look like Cliff Politte plus 40 lbs. Big yellow teeth and they spit when they talk. Then there's Lieuteneant Politte ... a big huge guy who appears to be the family leader ... it only took about 5 innings before he told quickman to "settle down". These four guys are about 1100 pounds of rompin' stompin' Politte. It is not a pretty picture. That is a great picture.
  5. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) This going to turn into a smack talking, s*** slinging spot?? This is strictly a test. If this forum turns into a pissing contest, we won't keep it. That being said, we are hoping to have some contacts with other Soxtalk type boards, so that we can get some good discussions going on. It would be cool if we can broaden things by having some other viewpoints, without HAVING to be involved in them. That is why we created this board, so that if people don't want to chat, they don't have to even know it is going on.
  6. Great story
  7. We were actually recently approached by some Mariner's fans from another board, who were interested in making contact during their visit to Chicago. We kicked aroud some ideas and came up with this place as an experiment to see how it would work out. This place is for visiting fans of other teams to stop by and talk baseball while their team is playing the Sox, or to talk about trades, or anything related to baseball in general. This area will give us the option of talking to visiting fans, or if posters don't have any interest, they can just stick to Pale Hose Talk, and be around their bretheran Sox fans. This forum will be decently moderated, as we don't want to have an MLB/ESPN type board, and if that happens we will pull the plug on this board. We will also not allow visiting fans to abuse any of our members or rules, or they will not be allowed to stick around. And after that intro, we welcome in the Seattle Mariners and their visiting fans from SportSpot.net. If people have questions or comments, please feel free to PM me or post them.
  8. Did you still need that MC class info? BTW good luck and make me proud.
  9. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) http://whitesox.mostvaluablenetwork.com/ and this: http://www.sabrsox.blogspot.com/ I had the first one up there, and just added the 2nd one. Thanks! Keep 'em coming. I want to have the most comprensive Sox info spot on there.
  10. Good luck EJ! Hopefully everything works out for you.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) Oh yea.. no doubt. Baj is a sneaky little sucker.. not to be trusted. (repeat x4)
  12. Just a friendly reminder, be sure to get in your picks to click and YNOT picks before game time. And if you will not be around a computer for the weekend, you can make all of the weekends PTCs in advance. Good luck
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) I've passed the torch to the Neal fan club.. Its all about BMac now
  14. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 08:56 AM) Didn't Carl Everett get a cell phone thrown at him in Oakland? I forget what team he was with back then. I know it was in Oakland as a visitor. He must have been with Texas at the time

  17. I am curious what age this kid is, and any guesses at projecting his draft position? He sounds like a 2nd round pick to me.
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) Max, sign and trade. This is exactly what I am hoping for. Give me a PF who can score and a tall SG who can defend and I do the deal in a milisecond.
  19. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 07:06 AM) Never fails here........ Someone should really start a list of all the "sucks" or "hates" or "blows" threads over the season. Im sure we would have no one to root for by July........ And it is usually the same people who do all of the complaining, which tells me all I need to know about the thread. Some people you just don't pay any attention to, because all they do is complain.
  20. This never stops being funny. Why don't we go after Sammy for RF as long as we are looking for overpaid, overrated athletes on the downside of their careers which we are trying to use to replace players after a whole 9 games
  21. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Paulie with a three run bomb to RF. Nice GMTA
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) whoa, how'd we tie up the score? Comacst talking about Curry now. PK 3 run bomb to RF
