  1. I forget, whose fault was the coasting?
  2. Man if you are defending Tony today, I am not the one who is dreaming. The man had one job. His team completely failed and shit the bed. That's on him. That is quite literally why they fired Ricky after last year. Believe it or not the manager IS responsible for how their team plays and performs.
  3. He didn't give his pitchers a chance with his awful defensive alignments and horrible usage patterns in the playoffs.
  4. Why did he want to return this time? Ego and unrealistic expectations of his own abilities.
  5. The entire world could see the holes in this team. That isn't an achievement. The problem is the holes HE could affect, he didn't.
  6. I hope people realize if anything, he'd promote TLR.
  7. Get off your trackphone and align our defense.
  8. LaRussa hasn't argued that hard since his last DUI.
  9. Now Tony's going to get mad. Come on man.
  10. The ONLY way TLR is gone is if he does it himself. No one in this organization will touch him.
  11. Kimbrel gets out of his bad inning with nothing if the defense is right.
  12. This is a nice thread for me to poop in.
  13. You make up talent deficit by playing the game the right way. You give it away by playing it the wrong way. There is nothing that Tony's leadership did this year to help that. There is nothing to be pointed at this season to say "Oh man the Sox got better at X" that you can point to Tony as the reason for. There is no doubt in my mind that somehow Jerry though that this Tony move was the move to be made in lieu of spending for real talent to finish this roster, and it blew up in his face like Wild E Coyote. The only real good news here is the LaRussa move failing puts the onus back on management to approve some real talent acquision this winter, because this teams management isn't nearly good enough to manage this team deep.
  14. I wouldn't argue that you are wrong.
  15. How you can watch this team and think that leadership isn't a problem is beyond me.
  16. I can't say this enough, NOTHING changed from 2020 to 2021 in terms of what the Sox needed to fix to get deep in the post season. The baseball IQ didn't come up, the defense didn't get any better, and the pitching wasn't able to figure it out against the top of the league.
  17. Man, no one has been effective today. No one. People talk about team wins, this is a team loss so far.
  18. The dive by Abreu saved two runs. The perfect throw to first saved one run.
  19. He needed a pitch other than the fastball there.
  20. Yas also can not let one get by him.
  21. I do not want Kopech coming in with the bases loaded.
