  2. I disagree. The more starts Garcia and Vazquez can get on the road the better. But there's no way to control it once the order is set, although it can be set again after the All-Star break.
  3. Buehrle Contreras Garland Garcia Vazquez For the reasons already stated -- Contreras owns the Indians and this order will makes Freddy's first two starts on the road.
  4. BOOO... http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/...xt=.jsp&c_id=sf
  5. It isn't crazy at all. Vazquez knows how to throw strikes and K's a lot of batters (1.27 career WHIP, 7.77 career K/9). But he's prone to giving up the long ball so pitching at the Cell won't help him much. I think Vazquez will struggle at home but pitch great on the road and still have a good season overall. Garland depends a lot more on the defense playing behind him than Vazquez. If Garland starts walking more batters than his 2005 rate, he will probably go back to a ~4.50 ERA. Contreras has great stuff. The question is -- will he continue to throw strikes like he did in the second half of last season? If he does, he will have a great season.
  6. Mark Gonzales needs to do a better job on his fact-checking. Vazquez's career-worst ERA was 4.91 with the Yankees in 2004.
  7. I doubt Juan Gone could stay healthy anyways but I saw him on a Spanish TV channel a couple days ago and he was ripped. I'm not sure if he could pass a steroid test or not but he was in great shape.
  8. Read the article in the first post of this thread. It's a must-read.
  9. Juan Encarnacion will be their starting RF'er. LF will be a Spring Training competition between Larry Bigbie, John Rodriguez, and So Taguchi. 2B will be a competition between Hector Luna, Aaron Miles, and Junior Spivey. Spivey will likely win the job.

  12. Look at their respective splits. Looper is great against righties but horrible against lefties. Rincon is great against lefties but horrible against righties. La Russa will use them the right way and make them productive. He's the master of the righty/lefty matchup game.
  13. Yeah, I guess he did flip-flop on the Podsednik/Rowand position situation last year.
  14. More comments from Bonds: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/11450068/
  15. I would hope that no one thought that silly quote was real. One would have to be truly naive to believe that Bonds would have said what a typed. I didn't really think that green was necessary but I guess it was. My opinion on Bonds is that he is a great hitter that probably never even needed to take steroids but he did and his career is now tarnished as a result. Anyone who defends Bonds should also be prepared to defend Sosa. But there's actually proof that Bonds took roids while there is none that Sosa took them. That's just my opinion and I didn't even read it on Rotoworld.
  16. How so? Did Bonds not use roids? What did I fabricate? It was just a joke, lol.
  17. http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/...xt=.jsp&c_id=sf Good riddance, roider.
  18. Prior isn't really an injury risk. He just has fluke injuries like getting run over by Marcus Giles and getting hit by a line drive. Now Wood? He's injury-prone. And Dusty will make the stupid decision of starting Glendon Rusch over the much better Jerome Williams. But I agree with the rest of your assessment.
  19. I disagree with the solid lineup comment. They will still have two rookies (Murton & Cedeno) in their lineup and with Dusty as the manager they will see plenty of worthless Neifi at 2nd base, especially if Walker is traded before the season starts. Also, Jock Jones is a mediocre hitter (horrible for a starting RF'er) and horrid against lefties. And I doubt that they will be smart enough to bench him against all lefties like they should. Good rotation (if healthy), strong bullpen, but questionable lineup.
