Solution: Don't listen to Murph. He's a loud-mouthed Cubs fan with no radio talent whatsoever. Anytime it's supposed to be Sox talk on his show, he somehow manages to talk about the Cubs instead.
Sosa's decline started when he got nailed in the head by Solomon Torres of the Pirates. The pitch shattered Sosa's helmet and from then on he stood a mile away from the plate. That and the inability to use steroids anymore is what made his numbers crap.
I didn't know that you knew that because you never mentioned it in your post. And I never inferred that Harold couldn't use a stopwatch so take it easy with the CAPS. There's probably some reason behind this that Ozzie hasn't stated yet.
Raines. One of the best leadoff men of all time and the most successful basestealer in MLB history. That's why this move doesn't make much sense.
Not quite. The first base coach times a pitcher's delivery with a stop-watch to help the baserunner know when to go.
Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not or if I was wasting too much bandwidth but then I remembered the massive "Pics for sigs" thread in the "How Does That Work?" forum.
The Mariners have improved but their rotation still doesn't look strong enough to me. They have a really nice 1-2-3 but their 4-5 looks weak to me.

I like it when I have the park all to myself. I don't like to be cramped. But it's also cool when the whole stadium is rocking after a big walkoff homerun.
