  1. They gave out the Loaiza bobblehead after they had traded him for Contreras, right? Haha.
  2. White Sox announce 2006 promotional highlights http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  3. This and the fact that Uribe is a pretty good bunter are the main reasons for hope.
  4. Yep, that was in 1999. Some of the names on the list are interesting... http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/features/at100.html
  5. Uribe was a full-time starter with the Rockies in 2002. He was mostly a reserve with the Rockies in 2001 and 2003. That's all I was trying to say.
  6. With the Rockies, Uribe started 67 games in 2001, 150 games in 2002, and 80 games in 2003. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stat...ontext=fielding So Uribe was actually a full-time starter for the Rockies in 2002.
  7. Oh, I totally agree. There's a reason all of these "good stuff" lefties are available. If they had good control they would all be on MLB rosters already. KW is just grabbing a ton of these lefties and hoping one of them sticks, just like Marte did in 2002.
  8. Yep... Juan Uribe (career stats batting 2nd): 584 AB's | .269 AVG | .321 OBP | .433 SLG | .755 OPS
  9. From a 2003 San Diego Padres Top 10 Prospects chat transcript: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/chat/...padreschat.html I guess he has a mid-90's fastball, or at least he did before his Tommy John surgery. No surprise once again -- good stuff, horrible control. Seems like a trend with all the lefties KW has acquired.
  10. Just heard this on the Score. The Score reporter also said that the Sox will look to pick up one more lefty soon. Rusty Tucker's minor league stats
  11. Dunn can still hit around .250 and draw a ton of walks (.383 career OBP). Borchard hasn't shown he can do either of those yet.
  12. Haha... http://www.progressiveboink.com/dugout/archive/jon12.htm
  13. The main reason the Astros want to dump Bagwell is because of his contract. I doubt they even care if he's healthy or not. They want to go with Berkman at 1B, Preston Wilson in LF, Taveras in CF, Lane in RF, and use that $17 million dollars on trying to acquire a starting pitcher like Zito or Contreras. Right now, they don't know whether Clemens will retire or not and even if he comes back to the Astros he won't be able to pitch for them until May 1st. Right now, the back end of the Astros rotation is Wandy Rodriguez and Ezequiel Astacio. That's putrid.
  14. Mark McGwire power, Jose Hernandez contact.
  15. Chandler's season started on November 2nd, 2005 and he has averaged 5.4 PPG and 8.70 RPG since then. Is Joe Crede a usual 1.135 OPS guy because he put up that OPS in September? Picking and choosing stats just doesn't work. I want to see how Chandler finishes by the end of the season before declaring him some sort of stud.
  16. Ummm, the Bulls essentially traded Brand for Chandler. What's wrong with that comparison? It was and still is a horrible trade. Chandler will never be the player that Brand currently is.
  17. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines
  18. Good point. All they got in return for Contreras was Loaiza's 8.50 ERA. :puke Yahoo and ESPN.
  19. Fidel Castro must be disgusted right now seeing both Contreras and El Duque standing next to our president.
  20. Baines played for the Rangers in 1989 and 1990 when Bush was a part owner of the team.
  21. Haha, not at all. Bust for both the Yankees AND the Cowboys but he sure made his millions... just like Borchard.
