  1. Scotty is pretty sexy.
  2. I can see why SNL isn't popular anymore.
  3. At the same time, with another guy.
  4. If we got Delgado, he would bat third and Frank would bat fourth. That said, I don't see it happening. Delgado AND Manny?
  5. I just hope he wasn't on steroids before this year. His power dropped dramatically.
  6. I think that will be pretty hard to fix. His weakness has been exploited, sliders low and away. Pitchers just didn't know to pound him with those in 2004 and he was seeing a lot more inside fastballs. The scouting report is out on Rowand and he will have to learn to take those pitches. Otherwise, he is just going to strikeout 116 times and walk only 32 times again next season.
  7. Of course. I don't think we were factoring in contracts.
  8. True, but Rowand didn't put up numbers similar to 2004 this season. He hasn't shown the consistency that Damon has offensively. I would take Damon's offense over Rowand's any day of the week. But I would take Rowand's defense over Damon's any day of the week.
  9. Fielding percentages are overrated. You don't get errors when you get a horrible jump and a ball flies over your head. Use your eyes. It doesn't take a genious to see that Podsednik isn't a great outfielder. He wasn't all that great in left field this season. I would describe him as "shaky at best." I wouldn't want to have to watch him move back to center field next season. His reads on balls are awful.
  10. Rowand was good in 2004, not 2003. But it's not 2004 anymore. Damon has always been a consistently better hitter than Rowand.
  11. Here's the montage of audio clips that they played on ESPN 1000. Sox audio highlights
  12. Laugh at him and chant "1908, 1908, 1908!"
  13. I'd take Damon's offense over Rowand's in a second though. Rowand's arm was far from great this year as well. He is the better defensive center fielder though.
  14. El Duque has shown that he can't handle starting every 5 days before his arm eventually gets tired and he has to rest on the DL for a few weeks. He did this with the Yankees and with us. He is a long reliever / spot starter at best. El Duque is 40 years old and making $4.5 million next season. Did you guys forget that he ended the season with a 5.12 ERA? He also had a 1.46 WHIP. I really don't see El Duque having much trade value.
  15. Good point. Just like the Cubs started the season with a washed-up Burnitz in right field and Hollandsworth in left field, fans would still always show up. The Sox don't have the huge fan base like the Red Sox and Cubs that will show up to games regardless of personell moves.
  16. I don't see Rowand, Marte, and El Duque netting Manny.
  17. Signing Paulie would be about winning. He may not be the hitter that Manny is but he's still a really good hitter. If you haven't noticed, Kenny has been all about the team chemistry this season and losing Konerko for Manny would be the complete opposite of that philosophy.
  18. There's a lot of them. Every fan that chants, "PAUL-EEE, PAUL-EEE, PAUL-EEE!" at Sox games.
  19. Bad example. Not resigning Pedro and signing Clement was an awful move by Boston. I see your point though.
  20. This is why Kenny and Reinsdorf are in a hole. The average fan doesn't care about stats, they care about their fan favorites.
  21. Manny runs like a 35 year old catcher if you factor in his laziness. He turns doubles into singles because of his lack of hustle and posing for balls that he thinks are homeruns. He is obviously a better hitter than Konerko though. I agree with fathom. I just think that to the White Sox, bringing back the face of the franchise is more important than adding a guy like Manny. Plus, it would be cheaper to resign Paulie than it would cost in players to trade and added salary for Manny.
  22. Manny in right field would be just as bad. His range is brutal and a ton of balls would fly past him in right. The only way to set up that outfield would be Manny in left field, Podsednik in center field, and Rowand in right field. But that would be bad as well because Podsednik sucks in center field. Any way you set it up, it would be the worst defensive outfield in the majors.
  23. I think the highest the Sox offer Paulie is $13 million a year. $20 million a year for a player is a lot more than $13.
