No, they won't. They signed Ryan Dempster to a pretty decent sized contract to be their closer. They won't spend another $10 million a year for another closer. They will probably go after Bobby Howry though.

Maybe, but I still think that winning games and a possible World Series ring this year was more important to him than 500 homers. He even admitted that he was selfish and played for the wrong reasons in the past but not this year.

It's possible. The pitching should be better with McCarthy as our 5th starter and El Duque as our long reliever but I doubt guys like Cotts, Politte, and Hermanson will all have career years next season as well. The offense should definately be improved as I think we will have a #3 hitter whether it's Frank or a guy like Lyle Overbay. In other words, the team should be even better next year but who knows if they will all perform as well as this season. Also, it seems like we got every damn clutch hit this season and almost everything bounced our way in this postseason. It will be tough to repeat that.

Did anyone see this horrible manager toss a cheer in the dugout, shake his head, put his hands on his knees in disgust, and just all-around show up his players? What a pathetic display. Garner bashed his offense after the game as well. He said that even if the game had lasted 40 more innings his offense probably wouldn't have scored a run. It must suck for Biggio and Bagwell that they have to play for this clown in the twilights of their careers. Hawk must be smiling right now about Garner's meltdown. B)
