LOL, Ozzie nails Simon Diamond in the back with the chair and then yells at him while he's laid out, "GET OFFA MY FIELD!!!" Then Ozzie starts laughing as he walks away.

Happy Birthday, HARRR... OOOLLLDDD!!!

That was sweet but the sample size is still obviously too small (4.2 IP) to judge and he isn't striking guys out which would be nice to see. I hope he keeps it up though.
-
Agreed, throw him against really good lefties. Afterall, those are the guys we will have to count on him to get out if he makes the roster. Jenks pitched in A, AA, and AAA as a starter with the Angels but only AA as a closer with the Sox. Cotts pitched in A with the Athletics and only AA with the Sox. Scott Radinsky is the last guy I can think of who went straight from A to the Sox.

We probably don't need a second lefty considering how bad Marte was against lefties last season (.267 BAA, 1.70 WHIP) but it sure seems like KW and Ozzie want one. I'm pretty sure that a righty and a lefty will round out our bullpen. Now whether or not it will be Hermanson and Logan, I don't know. Hermanson could be on the DL to start the season and Logan could get roped eventually and blow his chances of making the roster. I guess we will find out soon enough. Dude's got balls. Hopefully, he will continue to back it up.

Well, by innings-eater I just meant a guy who could go one or two innings an outing in the 6th inning or so like Hermanson did sometimes last season when he wasn't the closer. That way, Cotts and Politte could stay fresh for the late innings to set up Jenks. Basically, we still need a right-handed middle reliever that can pitch an inning or two if Hermanson isn't ready to go. I think that the guy in my avatar, for example, could fill that role for us if Hermanson is on the DL to start the season. I doubt that the Sox see this Logan guy as anything more than a pure LOOGY right now.
-
I know. :finger

I think they want the second lefty to just a lefty or two out. This Logan guy seems more suited for a LOOGY role than eating up innings. Hermanson (or his future replacement, whomever that may be) should be the innings-eater.

http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...ex.jsp?c_id=cws • Contreras after spring start: 350K • White Sox injury updates: 350K Herm Schneider gives a great explanation on Podsednik's, Contreras', and Hermanson's aches and pains.

Sounds good. I'll happily take 91 MPH from him. That's pretty hard for a sidearmer. And how much worse could he do against Hafner than Marte did? Hafner ate Marte for lunch.
-
It's cool. I thought that they show the gun reading on Comcast. Fuentes' fastball does look a hell of a lot faster than it actually is because of his funky delivery.
-
Fuentes can bring it at 91-93 MPH. I didn't watch the game today but what was Logan's fastball hitting on the gun? The Cheat said that he was throwing his fastball "87-90 MPH with late sinking movement."
-
I like that he's inducing a lot of groundouts but I would like to see him K a few batters.

I can understand that but Borchard will most likely have more trade value than Gload. Borchard was once a highly touted prospect, he's younger, has a lot of power, and can play every outfield position well. I'm pretty sure that he was being sarcastic. -
I just saw it on NBC 5 news. Simon Diamond is smack-talking to Pierzynski about AJ's title belt and Ozzie sneaks up from behind him and hits him with the weakest chair shot I have ever seen. Crede and Thome are standing around looking clueless like they don't even know what's going on. Hilarious.

I'm rooting for him to keep raising his trade value so we can get a decent reliever for him. -
According to George Offman of The Score, both Podsednik and Contreras have tendonitis. Both problems should work themselves out. Hermanson received an epidural shot and is scheduled to pitch Friday.

Dwayne Pollok thought otherwise. Man, are Farmer and Singleton ever hyping up this Boone Logan kid. O RLY?
