  1. You just hijacked the thread as well.
  2. Gload probably isn't enough to net Williamson. Besides, they have John Mabry to back up Derrek Lee anyways. Lee doesn't ride the pine much. Agreed, it seems like KW has no problem bringing in Ozzie's buddies (Garcia, Vazquez).
  3. That was some pathetic bullpen work by Puerto Rico.
  4. This thread is worth reading just for quickman's classic comments on our scrubs.
  5. This was my point. You don't need to trade top prospect(s) for a decent reliever, especially if you pick up a bit of salary like we did in the Bajenaru/Cintron swap. I think there will be decent guys out there that KW will be able to acquire for mid-level talent.
  6. I noticed that. Saying that Borchard is pretty much a DH instead of a solid defensive outfielder is a bit of a stretch. He plays good defense in the corners and can even play some CF. He has decent speed, range, and a strong arm.
  7. His glove isn't as good as Uribe's so I say no. I do like his stick though and he's still young. He's the type of guy I wished we had a few years ago to play 2nd base when we had Willie Harris and a washed-up Robbie Alomar instead.
  8. Okay, take Broadway out of the list then. My main point is that there is enough mid-level farm talent like Rogowski for example, packaged with Borchard, to net a decent reliever. I doubt that KW will have to trade top rated prospects to obtain a bullpen replacement for Hermanson.
  9. I think his point was that Spring Training stats don't mean much for anyone. Meanwhile, Borchard has struggled in the majors and Gload has actually produced in the majors. He probably weighs regular season stats much more than ST stats, and rightfully so.
  10. I think most people just don't want to trade the top guys like Sweeney, Fields, Valido, Owens, Broadway, and Liotta. Who cares if they trade any of the other guys down there. Rock Raines mentioned Rogowski and he would be an ideal guy to package in a trade, although he obviously isn't going to have the trade value of the top guys.
  11. So? He could have kept it to himself. He could have left the Sox as a hero. Instead, he became Sammy Sosa Part 2. I love Frank but his exit was disappointing as hell. He was with a new team and should have been talking up the A's, not wasting time bashing the Sox front office. The Sox helped him get his ring like Ozzie said. He should have left all the bulls*** in the past. By the way, Frank only had a beef with KW. He has always had a good relationship with JR.
  12. I was also thinking that it would be Borchard and a mid-level prospect for a decent reliever, not just Borchard for a reliever. Like you, I also doubt that Borchard has much trade value by himself.
  13. Yes, but if they wanted Borchard for example they would still have to trade for him because the Royals will almost surely claim him off waivers before other teams get a chance to.
  14. Castro just bounced back... C'mon Borchie, keep hitting those dingers so KW can trade you for a decent reliever!
  15. The point is that this should have been his response from the beginning.

  17. I'm all for keeping Gload on the roster and trading Borchard now since we added Cintron. Mackowiak can focus on primarily being the fourth outfielder. Ozuna and Gload could serve as fifth outfielders (not that I want to see them out there), where they really wouldn't get much playing time anyways because Mackowiak can play RF, CF, and LF. Borchard would have the most trade value to net us a decent reliever if he keeps hitting.
  18. He's not walking anyone and getting a good number of strikeouts but he's also giving up too many hits. Eric Chavez is a great hitter but he's also a lefty. We need a second lefty that can get those good lefties out.
  19. Not good... Javier Lopez's line: 1.1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HR, 6.14 ERA He gave up a 3-run homer to Eric Chavez.
  20. According to the box score, Heath Phillips took the loss.
  21. True, but it would also be nice to see these young guys get other young guys out.
