  1. You can't just say that all Texas relievers suck. Many of them suck every year due to park factors. We're not going to get a stud here. We just need a decent guy who can pitch some innings to give rest to our better relievers.
  2. Gene Honda Civic (Cheat) made a great post at his blog:
  3. The WhiteSox.com article also mentions that Podsednik is still bothered by discomfort in his left shoulder. This is why he hasn't been playing much. The Sox are playing it safe to make sure he is ready by April 2nd.
  4. McCarthy Lopez / Reynoso Politte Cotts Jenks C'mon Kenny, get us another nice right-handed reliever and I will be happy.
  5. Fluff article filler... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws Ozzie and Freddy are heading to Venezuela to break Urbina out of jail.
  6. Nice to see Cintron hitting... 16 AB .312 AVG .812 OPS 1 HR 4 RBI
  7. Ozzie is "very concerned" with Hermanson's back... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  8. And he's playing RF for them instead of LF. You can check out the Gameday at: http://www.worldbaseballclassic.com/2006/index.jsp
  9. Are there anymore Puerto Rican ex-Diamondbacks that we can acquire? Javier Vazquez Javier Lopez Alex Cintron
  10. Boy, I miss Marte... 20.25 ERA, 0.1 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K :puke Anyone remember Jose Santiago? He pitched for Charlotte in 2004 and is in Puerto Rico's bullpen.
  11. Vazquez's line: 2.25 ERA, 5.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 1 HR, 0 BB, 5 K
  12. Vazquez is da man... 2.25 ERA, 5.0 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 1 HR, 0 BB, 5 K
  13. The pornstache ownz. I prefer to call it the Valenstache though. Has there ever been two cooler brothers? What f***ing pimps.
  14. Man, anyone who thinks we miss this headcase is insane. The dude is a choke-artist at this point. He definately is not the same Marte from 2002-2004. It's amazing that we got a guy like Mackowiak for him. That trade was a steal.
  15. Politte and Cotts should stay in setup. McCarthy should have the El Duque role from the postseason and also spot start when needed. But we still need someone to replace Hermanson, IMO. I didn't think he was going to have a very good season when I thought he was healthy. Now that I know he's not even close to 100%, we definately need another arm.
  16. Great point. There's more than enough available roster spots to add another reliever. I believe that we currently have 8 open spots on the 40-man roster. Even if you factor in adding one of the non-roster invitee second lefties to the 40-man and getting Fabio Castro back from the Rangers, we will still have more than enough spots open. And trading Borchard or Gload (possibly for the reliever we seek) would also free up a spot.
  17. There's no panic mode involved. Hermanson was actually PULLED from today's game due to some sort of injury. He was also throwing weak meatballs. I don't think it's considered panic mode when a guy has been throwing horribly all ST and looks to be injured.
  18. Yeah, that's interesting. I just read that at Baseball America. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/featu...0329team31.html
  19. It seems like both of these guys have a similar delivery and they both are pretty much two-pitch pitchers -- low 90's fastball and good slider. I know that Reynoso's problem is control just like what Marte's current problem is. But could Reynoso be the next Marte (hopefully the 2002-2004 version) or does he just walk too many batters to be successful? Anyone know more about this guy?
  20. He just likes proven talent. I do believe he has said he likes Ryan Sweeney though.
  21. Francisco Hernandez is listed as a non-roster invitee at WhiteSox.com.
  22. Me too, he wears the high socks just like Marte and also has a similar body type. That's scary. But he pitched well today. I know they are facing mainly minor leaguers but Reynoso struck out the side.
