Joshua Fields Forever...
Ozzie did say Fields has improved greatly but his defense still looks shaky to me. He has 3 errors in 28 innings this spring. But I think that two of those errors came on hard liners off of his glove. He still has a lot of work to do with the glove. His bat is looking damn good though.

KW says that he most likely won't be trading for another reliever... http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/sportsstory.asp?id=164410- Ryan Sweeney is a monster
You're looking at the numbers far too much and forgetting about defense. Who else do we have besides Anderson that could be a full-time starter in CF?- Ryan Sweeney is a monster
The difference is that Ozuna was a 30 year old non-roster invitee nobody of a player. He was a highly ranked prospect at one time but that's before he was found to be 4 years older than his listed age. Sweeney is a 21 year old top prospect that the organization is going to take it slow with. They want him to continue to develop his power in the minors, not in the majors as a fourth outfielder where he won't get enough at bats. He's not going to make the opening day roster regardless of how well he hits this spring.- Deal may mean bye-bye, Borchard
Also, Gload wants to stay with the Sox. He doesn't want to be traded... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines- Deal may mean bye-bye, Borchard
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...ack=1&cset=true- Everett takes jab -- moves too disruptive?
Carl was just pissed about the date that KW had set to trade for him this season. Sorry Kalapse.- Good news on Fabio Castro
No offense to Fabio but I hope he continues getting shellacked so the Rangers ship him back to us.- Everett takes jab -- moves too disruptive?
I think it's funny that Everett doesn't seem to realize that Thome is a MASSIVE upgrade over him at DH. Also, Thome is the best clubhouse guy in baseball. I don't see how he will hurt any chemistry.- Second lefty update
Thanks for calling me a Cubs-loving idiot. :finger Reynoso is a Sox prospect. I guess when he doesn't end up making the team, they will just assign him to AA or AAA. Almanza was signed to a minor league deal so unless he has an out clause in his contract in case he doesn't make the opening day roster, I guess they will send him to AAA.- Everett takes jab -- moves too disruptive?

I'm not so sure of that. KW seems to have some serious man-love for Anderson. And who replaces Anderson in CF if Sweeney replaces him? The Sox don't seem to want Podsednik playing CF. But I agree that Anderson will probably stuggle. He takes some wicked cuts at a lot of bad pitches.- NFL Off-Season Rumor Mill
According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Daunte Culpepper is about 24 hours from being traded to most likely the Raiders, but possibly to the Dolphins or Jets.- Ryan Sweeney is a monster
If Podsednik is traded I think Jerry Owens would replace him in LF, not Sweeney. If Dye gets injured or is traded, I guess they would definately consider calling up Sweeney.- Ryan Sweeney is a monster
Agreed, repeat AA and then go to AAA for the 2007 season.- Ryan Sweeney is a monster
I know it's early but I think that the Sox will probably pick up Dye's $6 million team option for 2007 if he stays healthy this season. $6 million is just dirt cheap these days for the kind of production that Dye can provide when he's healthy. And I doubt the Sox want Ryan Sweeney on the roster as a fourth outfielder. I think he could take over for Dye in RF to start the 2008 season. That would give Sweeney two full seasons to develop his power in the minors.- kill kill kill them M's
It's too bad Armando Almanza doesn't have good control. His stuff looked nastay. Paulino Reynoso and his high socks were giving me bad flashbacks of Marte. Recap | Box Score- kill kill kill them M's
^^^ I didn't believe the hype but after watching him play, I'm impressed. He has a great swing and a great plate presence. And that homer was so pretty I want to see a replay. His swing reminds me of Rafael Palmeiro's (minus the roids of course).- kill kill kill them M's
By the way, Owens looks pretty clueless in CF. Every catch looks like an ordeal for him out there. He's definately going to be in LF if he plays for us. Fields needs to work on his glove. I think that's his second error of ST. His bat looks great though. Gload is the Chevy Player of the Game. 2 for 3, HR, RBI-double. Time for Borchard to show his stuff.- kill kill kill them M's
Ozuna's story is pretty funny. I think Baseball America had him ranked the 8th overall prospect in all of baseball in 1998. Then they found out that he was actually 4 years older than advertised. Nice makeup call at the plate, lol. Sweeney was safe.- kill kill kill them M's
Wow, qwerty may have to change his opinion on Sweeney. I know it's just ST but he looks pretty damn impressive at the plate. I don't know much about him but damn, his swing is pretty. He also looks like he works the count well. Nice to see Josh Fields raking as well. And Owens showing off what he does well.- White Sox Acquire Infielder Alex Cintron
Interesting, there actually is a Red Sox / Bajenaru connection... http://www.azcentral.com/sports/diamondbac...intron0309.html - Second lefty update
