  1. Think? Cotts, Hermanson, and Politte all had career years last season. Do you really think they are going to match their performances from last season this year? They could be good but there's no way I see them matching their stats from last season.
  2. I'm not saying that we will win 100+ games but with such a solid rotation and even a good sixth starter in case of injury, we will have a good chance to win every game as long as our offense is decent. El Duque wasn't exactly a solid fifth starter last season due to nagging injuries. Long gone are the days of having guys like Todd Ritchie and Danny Wright in our rotation in which we didn't have much of a chance to win the games that they started. Kenny has built a rotation that I wouldn't have even believed could happen two years ago.
  3. Yep, I didn't have much faith in Hermanson coming into this season regardless of his back problems. He had a career year last season and his stuff just isn't that great anymore. Also, it seemed like he was getting saved by quite a few great defensive plays on a lot of hard liners last season.
  4. Yep, f***ing Indians and their cheap signings -- Victor Martinez, Travis Hafner, and now Jhonny Peralta.
  5. The fan's message is correct though. Cuba would be a better place without Fidel. Hell, the U.S. even tried to assassinate him several times in the 1960's.
  6. I didn't see the game but it sounds like he got roped. But didn't he get screwed over by an error by Josh Fields? Maybe we will end up trading Borchie for a reliever.
  7. Recap | Box Score Wow, Thome now has 6 BB's and only 1 K in 13 AB's. How many RBI's is Konerko going to knock in this season?

  9. We can't do that though. Both Borchard and Gload are out of options, meaning that they either have to make the opening day roster or be placed on waivers in which other teams can claim them. So ideally, we will keep one of them and trade away the other. Borchard (27) would have the most trade value of the two because he's younger than Gload (30) and because he was once a highly rated prospect. He can also play pretty good defense at every outfield position while Gload is basically a backup first baseman.
  10. That's what I was just going to post but then I read that Jose Guillen's wrist isn't as badly injured as they originally thought. Guillen was originally supposed to miss around 3 months but now he will be able to play within a week. I was hoping that KW could steal another good prospect from Jim Bowden for Borchard.
  11. And you have to remember that even if Borchard makes the team, he's the fifth outfielder behind Mackowiak now that we have both Cintron and Ozuna to play the infield. Borchard would barely get any playing time unless an injury occurred. Also, neither probably has much trade value but I'm sure that Borchard must have more than Gload.

  14. That shouldn't be in green, IMO. He should be called up when there's a starting spot open for him in the outfield.
  15. Sorry, I didn't mean you. But yeah, I'd have to agree with them just based on the small sample size I have seen of their respective swings and plate presence.
  16. My point is that Anderson is still a rookie. It took time for Rowand to develop into the player that he is today. I think a few people are expecting Anderson to be as good as Rowand THIS SEASON. That's just not realistic.
  17. Yep, some people seem to forget that Rowand was a 4th outfielder before the past two seasons. Anderson is a 1st round pick but he's still in his rookie season. It's not fair to compare him to Rowand.
  18. Agreed. Sweeney looks like he has great plate presence and can easily tell the difference between a ball and a strike. He looks like he has a good idea of what he wants to do and waits for the pitch he wants to hit. Anderson looks like he's just up there hacking at every pitch. Either way, Anderson has to be our starting CF'er for defense alone.
  19. I don't think that either is very good, although Singleton hasn't had much practice yet. He could get better. But at least DJ will always have that sweet homerun call.
  20. No, he's just not meant for the outfield. Gload doesn't have the speed, range, or arm to play there. The only place I would ever risk putting him for a very short time would be LF. I would never stick him in RF again.
