  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) The very initial long term forcasts are actually predicting a warm up starting towards the middle to end of next week. My fingers are crossed. I've been watching the same thing. My 3 buddies and I are drinking a beer for every degree it is. I hope it's 60! That's 15 each!

  3. QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) He makes it sound like everyone that watches CNN is in a death cult or something. It'd be funny if you said it probably, because you have a demonstrated sense of humor. Sadly, I doubt juggs is kidding. Point taken.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) And what point might that be... ? See below
  5. QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) So its not enough to demonize the husband, now you demonize a network viewership. Classy. I took it as a joke. I thought it was funny because it's probably more on the true side.
  6. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) Not only that, but how many r-t-l supporters are likely to visit CNN to begin with? http://www.lawdepot.com/contracts/healthdi...ving_will_d&a=t Good point.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) From CNN.Com - 3:32pm Central time Who should decide Terry's fate? Politicians 1% 1196 votes Judges 4% 8479 votes Parents 22% 47346 votes Husband 73% 154304 votes I fail to see why that matters. Most people are answering these polls not knowing the things I listed earlier. Polls :rolly
  8. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) the rio is also pretty close to the Palms. IMO, the Palms is a better casino to play at. Cheaper tables and the atmosphere favors younger people. I forgot about the Palms. One other thing about Rio is they're owned by harrah's and there's a Harrah's boat near me where I can rack up some reward points.

    QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) I didnt see it, nor do I really care, but it must have been distasteful and unwanted. That's real cool to say. :rolly I saw the 2006 thread. I think it was locked (not deleted) because it was turning into an idiot fest. Not you, but the people commenting about your original post. I don't know what the other one is.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) This woman is being used in a personal and legal tug of war. The longer it goes on, the more she is being humiliated. Better humiliated than killed.
  11. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) I think nuke could have given a real answer not some elitest "I've been here longer than you crap" I think he took that as a s***ty question and in turn gave a s***ty response, but maybe I shouldn't be speaking for him. I'm just telling you how I took it.
  12. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) we're happy for ya' That's disrespectful, IMHO.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) CNN.com link I still can't get in on account of that lawnmower / big toe incident.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) If this guy had stayed by her side until the end, I would support his rights as a spouse. I do not consider him anything more than her "legal" spouse. My wife and I agree that unconditional love would have us at each other's bedside, and if we were the patient, would want the other happiness. I know I would not be happy abondoning her. I also do not believe much of the rhetoric on either side. Many people would lie to save a life. People are getting desperate or frustrated. My wife and I stayed up pretty late last night discussing this and we both agree that if there's any hint of a chance we would want any and every thing done. This guy is a classless jerk, in my opinion.
  15. Who are these newbies giving Nuke s***? A lot of class they have. This guy's been out doing the toughest job in the world and they have the gall to be assholes like that? That truely pisses me off! :headshake Good to have ya back, Nuke. Glad to see you're safe!
  16. This is the first time I've opened this thread and I'll admit, I'm not going to read all 16 pages. I originally was on the side of the Husband. Why should the parents be allowed to overstep his marital rights? I've since done a complete 180 after learning that he has a girlfriend and 2 kids with her. A nurse has come out claiming that he injected her with insulin in the hospital. The family claims the day before she went into the coma she told them she was leaving her husband. For years he has refused any kind of treatment or therapy for her. Even telling a nurse that had just given her a cold washcloth to hold onto that it was therapy and to remove it. Her brother (I think it was her brother) said that he went with his sister to a home to visit their Grandmother who had a feeding tube and there were others in the same condition and she never mentioned a thing about not wanting to live like that. That's usually the time when people say things like that. All this doesn't seem right to me. What's his motive? Why is this so important to him? Sickness and health? Death do us part? This guy is breaking every vow he made. It's sad. I pray for her and the souls of the people that are basically giving her, an innocent person, a death sentence.
  17. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Mar 23, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) The real questions is: Do they have a shuttle to Celine Dion's show as well? :puke Shouldn't that be in green? In all seriousness, thanks for all the suggestions. I'm not worried about losing. I always win. I have a system. But, really, I'm pretty responsible when it comes to that. So, in that case, I don't like your idea of not playing where you stay, Tex. Might as well get the comps, I say. These aren't first timers, so I'm not sure if they'll care about staying off the strip. That's the biggest hangup for me. I've always stayed on the strip and really enjoy all the people and sights. I only get to go about once every 2 years and I would hate to have a miserable time by missing out on all that. I guess I'll just run it by the group.
  18. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) White smoke means a pope and dark smoke means no pope yet (or something like that)... or maybe I transferring what I saw in the movie Shoes of the Fisherman (I think that was the name of it). That's about right. IIRC from my RCIA classes. The Cardinals meet somewhere in The vatican and a continuous fire burns that blows black smoke out the chimney. When they've finally decided on a Pope they put something in the fire that makes the smoke white. All the while, there are thousands waiting outside staring at that chimney for days, weeks, etc. Sounds like a pretty intense and beautiful tradition, IMO.
  19. IIRC, Percival was scheduled to come to Chicago for a visit and signed with Detoit out of nowhere. I don't fault Hendry for that. I do fault him for not getting somebody before now. Anybody.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Boy you had better get on that quick, youre running out of time... I think the Rio is a fine place for a bachelor party...It has a bit more of a "grown up" atmosphere. Plus the advantage of it being off the strip kinda keeps the tourists away...I.E. snapping 5000 pictures, kids and senior citizen tourbuses stopping on the way to the Grand Canyon. The pool setup is nice and it has almost everything you need as a gambler including a poker room. The Rio is IMO the Palms b4 the Palms...its a nice place, nothing extravagent but will fit what your lookin for!! Well, I'd like to get the final numbers ASAP for all the cheap bastards that are going so I can get my money before we go.
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) But, I would LOVE to have a certain Johnny B. back on the airwaves around these parts. Johnny was the best, and his stuff still kills me. You can find some websites with clips on them, including the final broadcasts that lead up to the daparture. I never got the whole Johnny B thing. I never could stand to listen to him. To each his own, I guess. I really would like to see Roe and Garry back together. Roe's show seems to be lacking something since Garry left.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Pffttt. cheapo... go for the Bellagio or the Venetian... Seriously, I stayed at the Rio when it first opened. Never for a bachelor party though. No frickin' way! I wouldn't spend that kind of money on this group of guys! I'm the best man and not very close to the rest of the groomsmen and the groom's friends. While I'll get most of the money back, I don't trust them too much. Personally, I don't care where we stay. I just want to gamble. These guys, on the other hand, aren't big gamblers and will be there more for the "atmosphere." Yeah, it's a mile from the strip, but I guess they have a free shuttle to the strip every 15 minutes, which is cool. I think I may go this way, but I still have close to a year to decide.
