QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! ! ;We had the Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "asteroids" and the graphics sucked azz! Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! ... Just like LIFE! I still remember the commercial for the new Atari that featured a "pause" switch. The phone rang or the doorbell rang and the guy just flipped a switch and paused the game. How f***ing awesome!

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 11:00 AM) O Holy Night is the most beautiful Christmas songs ever written. It's also one of the most difficult to sing. Cartman sang it.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Bingle and Bowie on Drummer Boy By far my favorite! I like O Holy Night as well. Didn't we do this last year?

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) haha...fine job there mreye!! Even with that description I still don't get how the dude ended up behind the rear passenger side wheels not the driver side I agree, I was thinking maybe he fell under the truck next to it, but it isn't explained that way.

I am sooo disappointed in a lot of you: Real photos; inaccurate description.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) The Tooth Fairy uses Sacajaweas (sp?) at our house, so we always have to have some on hand. The dead Preznitz will be a cool series. My favorit two will be Grover Cleveland and Grover Cleveland. But maybe not in that order. Everyone is this room is now dumber for listening to that. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) ^^ nice TMBG usage. This seals the deal for me quitting working at the bank by 2007. I hate when old people come in looking for 2-3 rolls of the state quarters. WTF are you going to use them for? you're missing out on the interest and you'll be dead before they're worth anything! My grandma gave my 3 year old daughter a roll of the new nickels for her birthday (Along with other stuff). I have no idea why. I didn't even ask.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) Hmmm, and now a news story has added weight to the assessment of the lone individual referenced in post 9 So there. (Stupidhead!) Let's take it outside, old man!

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Let's break this down..... To get the $24.99 ignitor you linked to, you would have to pay $32.98 after shipping and then wait for 3-5 days without heat for delivery. The company has to pay a technician to drive to the home and diagnose the problem. There is your service call. The technician has to drive to a parts house to get the part and back, then install the part, verify that was the only problem, cycle the unit to make sure it is working properly. Depending on travel time, time of day (was the call after hours? on a weekend?), a professional diagnosing the problem, installing the part, cost of gas, truck, tools, business overhead, the individual market and margin, the price could easily be justified. Service companies are not just charging for a part, they are charging for their time and services as well. FWIW, here in Birmingham, our company would charge as follows: Service call/Diagnostic Fee: $77 Flat rate price for ignitor and installation: $109 to $140 Possible return trip charge: $18 to $24 Energy and materials charge: $5 The charges vary depending on if the customer has an existing preventative maintenance agreement. So I guess a normal customer has the choice of paying $36 for an ignitor, waiting 3-5 days to get it and then paying someone to install it, hoping that is the only problem. Or paying a couple hundred bucks to a professional to handle it and have heat the same day (or worse, the next if the part is not available at night). I know which choice I would make. No need to get defensive. I just wouldn't go that route. And you don't have to wait 3-5 days. Any Menards or Home Depot carries these. Just my $0.02. Sorry if you took it the wrong way. Wow.

Pretty clever. I can appreciate it.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:47 AM) So far the forged ballot story is NOT being corroborated. Maybe a fake story floated to cast doubt on the election. http://www.voanews.com/english/2005-12-14-voa56.cfm Hmmm, I think someone said that in post #9.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) so you're saying Kerry lost the election on purpose? aka, it was 'thrown'. Kerry ran in 2000?

FWIW, I saw an interview with a General this morning that's in charge over there and he said he has not heard that report. He said he did hear the same thing during the previous election/primary.

QUOTE(Balance @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) My fantasy football team won its first playoff game this past weekend. I won my suicide league last week. The last remaining player took San Diego and I had Atlanta.

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) That's one of the few major hurdles left.. they don't know at this point and wont until they are able to test him. That testing is waaaaaayyy down the line. Him sustaining life is front and center at this point. He has shown signs of alertness and can follow noise and light. That's a good sign at this point. Hopefully he will be out of the sedatives enough this afternoon to give us some significant responses. But no formal testing will be done for weeks. Although.. they did tell us that the ventilator would be in "for weeks" also... Things change by the hour in the NICU... That's what I thought. I just wasn't sure.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) Define "taken" If you paid $229 for an ignitor you got taken.

Blah! There's a conspiracy for everything.

Great news, Steff! It looks like all the prayers and well-wishes are having some effect.
