  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 07:54 AM) I could be way, way off, but I have a feeling there are going to be like 12 people there.... Why?
  2. I didn't see this posted. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws So, anyone going?
  3. I don't think I'll be able to make it, guys. Have a good time and here's to a White Sox winner!
  4. When the sound went out for Comcast I went over to WGN and a little while later they (WGN) said they were being kicked out with the reat of the media. I went back to Comcast and they were still in the locker room for 20+ minutes. I wonder if they got special treatment or just ignored the evacuation order.
  5. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) You may laugh at this, especially if you remember the routine from the Kids in the Hall (?) show when it was briefly on here. "I'm squishing your head!" http://isfullofcrap.com/oldcrap/2005/09/senate_follies.html Not bad.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Actually you know what, you're 1/2 right, and I apologize. While the Democrats didn't have a written rule, I believe they did remove people from power (Rostenkowski) when they were indicted back int he early 90's. The Democrats put the rule into their party's rules early this year when the Republicans were trying to remove the same rule from theirs. Link So they said, "Hey, we'd better put this rule in if we're going to criticize the guys across the aisle for removing it, even though they've had it for quite some time!!" Right? Hard to start a smear campaign that way.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Please note...the GOP tried specifically to change exactly this rule back in January of this year. There was enough of an outcry, by people including me, the entire Democratic Party that had played by that rule for decades (including the corrupt early 90's), and even many moderate Republicans., that they were actually forced to rescind that rule. It was casually known as the "Delay" rule at the time. The Democratic party played by a Republican party rule? I'm hearing the Dems don't have this same rule for themselves.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) No. However, the way it happend, it could not have been better. We were all watching on the big screen in CF when it was 4-3, then everyone saw on the board that it eneded up being 4-4, and when the score finally changed to 5-4, the place all at once went nuts. Standing O. It could have been better if they had the game on the big screen during the rain delay and it happened then. Still, had to be pretty awesome!
  9. Did they show the dropped flyball at the game yesterday? If they did, that had to be a special moment.
  10. You get jammed enough and you'll either back off the plate, like the others said, or you'll at least be back on your heals, leaving you unable to reach that pitch on the outside corner.
  11. Q: What do you call a black pilot? A: A pilot, you racist!
  12. I guess not, huh? You people suck!!
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 07:01 AM) Guest searches were eliminated too, for at least the time being. If you want to search for something you have to be a member. My belly's getting so big, I may have to search for my member.

  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) The timing of the sale, two weeks before the shares tumbled, is suspicious. None of the blind trust provisions cited above do anything to assure that priveleged information was not used in the decision to sell off all his shares when hhe did. Ahhh... the timing. Yes, but I guess it doesn't matter that it really wasn't 2 weeks. It was a month after the sell order was placed.
  16. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) I'm dumb No green?
  17. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Wait, I thought it was Aaron Rowand who hit the walk-off homerun. Just kidding.. but did you guys see the Indians' gameday recap? Recap It goes on to say "and the Tribe went on to lose to the first-place White Sox, 7-6, in 10 innings on Aaron Rowand's walk-off home run." Back to the topic, I couldn't take watching the top of the 10th. I was sure the Indians were gonna score 2 or 3, and I was starting to feel sick again, so I decided to take a quick shower and watch the bottom of the 10th. When I turned the tv on again, it was a commercial saying "stay tuned for the post-game show", and then it showed the Cell emptying out. For the first second, it looked like everyone was walking out bummed, I couldn't believe it, then they immediately showed the replay of Crede's walk-off homer. I took the biggest sigh of relief. I've never felt so good in my life. I was glad I didn't see it, because I'm convinced they would've lost if I had kept watching. Get a shower radio. I love mine!
  18. QUOTE(UC76 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) It didn't look intentional to me. In fact, I didn't even notice it until the commercial break was over and Hawk and DJ pointed it out. It just looked like Pierz had nowhere else to land. I wish someone would step on Travis Hafner. Did they point it out after the break? I stand corrected.
  19. You know what got me. Hawk and DJ never mentioned it. At least not that I heard.
  20. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:50 AM) Oh yes, he ABSOLUTELY went out of his way to step on Boone’s back. He he he. If you recall, AJ was only trying to get to the bag at third. He wouldn’t have overrun it toward the dugout. When the ball sailed past, he had to stutter-step to make sure he landed on Boone. Personally, though, I hope he was really aiming for his ass, not his back. I disagree. I think he tried to jump him, but relized he wasn't going to make it without risking injury and just went ahead and stepped on him. Like someone said earlier, you can see his hand going up trying to alleviate the pressure.
  21. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) I didn't mean to mock you, sorry, but I get offended sometimes when people make comments about Canada. And yet...oh man, I can't. It's just too easy.
  22. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 06:42 AM) Raised my arms and give a nice soft but quite passionate (the kids were sleeping). f*** ya, Get Back Joe Joe. My kids were sleeping too. I was sitting on the floor in front of the couch and just raised my fist as soon as he hit it.
  23. Yeah, Crede helped me sleep better as well. Well, him...and my wife.
