  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 3, 2011 -> 05:54 PM) Andybody watch the MVP press conference? He was so sincere & humble, it was something neat to watch. I was almost in tears when he was talking to his mom. That was something special.
  2. Atlanta won't shoot lights out like that again. The Bulls came out slow but did a great job of battling back and taking the lead. I thought we had it locked up at one point, then Crawford and Johnson decided they'd make every single contested jumper for the last 16 minutes of the game. That was ridiculously frustrating. Deng, Brewer and Bogans played phenomenal defense on Johnson and Crawford for most of the game but they just could not miss. It was similar to watching the game against the Knicks earlier in the year when the shot lights out.

  4. I'm anxious to see how Rose's ankle and Boozer's feet are tonight.
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 2, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) The answer is obvious. So why are you trying to bring everyone down? I'm not trying to bring anyone down. I just don't think it should be ignored.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 2, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) Jesus, just drop it. We get it, you don't like that people are celebrating. Answer the question.
  7. Is this a fitting celebration?
  8. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) Its easy cheer when you have always been the majority, it is much harder to cheer when you are in the minority and you can remember (not personally but historically) when people were cheering the death of your people. Agreed 10000%.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Am I happy? Yes. Will I celebrate? Yes. Will I go out partying like crazy because he's dead? No. It's not respectful to those who have had their friends and family killed. Exactly.
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) Don't bother, Steve. This is the same guy who defended Slobodan Milosevic. Didn't see THAT ONE coming.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 2, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) How dare you question how other people celebrate such a momentous occasion? What are they portraying? National Pride? What a horrible thing! No one slaps the beer out of your hand when Serbia scores a huge victory or when the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup, yet you complain about people celebrating an event much more important. I see no reason why you should take offense to others finding the death of Bin Laden a reason for celebration. The entire country sat in disbelief watching the events unfold after 9/11, and we'd certainly hoped to have Osama, figurehead or not, brought to justice for his crimes against our country and others. The US Military, after a decade of close calls, has finally made Bin Laden answer for his crimes with the ultimate payment. If you don't understand the weight this event should have on national pride then you are just looking for reasons to complain. I, for one, enjoyed all footage of Americans of all races partying, carrying flags, chanting "USA, USA, USA", and I'd hope most others would as well. You're entitled to your opinion. That's quite alright. I never said it wasn't a reason to celebrate. I never said I was offended by the celebrations. And I never said a thing about Serbia (but it was only a matter of time before someone ignorantly mentioned it). For the sake of all people who OBL affected, I hope this doesn't turn into something it shouldn't.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:00 AM) With all due respect, WTF??????? He was responsible for 9-f***ing-11!!!!! Are you 2 nuts????? Please reconsider your position. That mother f***er is responsible for so much HELL in America. Deaths. 9-11!!! WE SHOULD f***ING CELEBRATE LIKE ITS A WS TITLE!!!!! Gosh I am disappointed in you 2. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:06 AM) Great line. When you said evil terrorists I thought of the Austin Powers movies. I'm just so disappointed in those two I don't know what to say. My god. Think of those of you that had relatives die in 9-11. This motherf***er that we killed was responsible for what, 3000 or more deaths? And we kill him and you are upset because we are f***ing celebrating?? I don't get it sometimes. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:14 AM) At least you said it's very important. But yes I think it's OK and good everybody is celebrating this. Like a WS title I don't condone burning cars or destroying property, but celebrating like it's a WS title??? f*** yes! This Bin Laden mother f***er is responsible for HELL ON EARTH. Families destroyed; our way of life changed forever. Burn in hell Bin Laden and celebrate all you want, USA!!! That's how I feel, sorry. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:23 AM) I'm not out celebrating but I did feel good when I saw the celebrations on TV. And your 2 posts flipped me out. Sorry if I offended. But I have personal feelings about this matter because yes, I know somebody who died on 9-11 and yes she is one who elected to jump out of the building rather than burn in the building. It's so horrific to think that some people had to decide whether they wanted to burn to death or jump and die on their own terms, and that mother f***er was responsible for this and that family will never be the same. So yes I want to celebrate this big time and I can understand why many hit the streets to celebrate this. I understand your position, but like someone said earlier, how many of those kids on college campuses were actually out celebrating purposefully? I saw a lot of pictures from different areas of the US, and I didn't see a single picture (now, of course, I didn't see EVERY single one) of a college students crying or praying. Instead, I saw pictures of people standing on cars and climbing lightposts and streetlights. I'm not sure if its fortunate or unfortunate, but my school finished the semester this past Friday, so a lot of people were gone and there was no crazy outdoor celebration with fireworks. I understanding the desire to celebrate. Ya, it's a big deal. But how much does it really change? Fireworks and parties aren't going to bring back any of the people that were lost at Bin Laden's hands. Sure, celebrate all you want, but be mindful of the big picture and what you're portraying in your celebrations.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 1, 2011 -> 11:37 PM) And as usual, us Americans getting alittle too carried away here. I know I'll probably get blasted for this, but I agree. Some of the pictures and videos I've seen make me shake my head. There's a difference between celebrating and throwing an outdoor frat party.
  14. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) Gasol & Z-Bo are gonna give OKC all they can handle inside. Randolph is one such an underrated player. An absolute FORCE in the paint.
  15. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 10:07 PM) You guys really think the Thunder will have that much trouble with Memphis? I just don't see it. ...............................
  16. The Patriots traded the 193rd pick to the Eagles for the 194th pick. That's it. That's the deal.
  17. After the Packers selected a TE in the 5th round, Trent Dilfer went on to say that h-back is the most important position after QB in an offense.
  18. I'm a firm believer in football being won at the line of scrimmage, and I absolutely adore the Bears top 2 picks. You've got to think the left side of the line is set now with Carimi on the outside and Williams on the inside. Kreutz can still hack it a little bit, but we need to find someone to develop at center. Garza will probably stick at RG for as long as Kreutz does and I'm a big fan of Webb at RT. He's still raw, but showed steady improvement. And his physical attributes are nuts. I would have LOVED Boling or Cannon in the 3rd round but oh well.

    Finals Week

QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) Just out of curiosity, do you think Marketing Research gives individuals skills to use in the real world (as in Marketing Research jobs)? Often times I wondered if I should have studied Marketing instead of Management and wanted to know what you thought of the course. f*** if I know. I didn't focus on that class at all. I had 4 broadcasting classes and this bulls*** required marketing course which I skipped 60% of the time.

    Finals Week

Had 2 finals today. First was just to turn in a resume tape to my professor and have him critique it. He gave me a 9.2 out of 10 and told me that I'm going to make it as a broadcaster and that I get it. That was nice to hear from a 10 year CNN correspondent. Then had another broadcasting exam at 2. 80 questions, multiple choice, T/F and a couple matching. Finished it in about 9 minutes and aced it. Now I have to study for a Marketing Research exam (tomorrow at 2) as well as a Broadcast Seminar exam (tomorrow at 6) after watching the Hawks lose game 7 in OT. May or may not mail it in.
  22. So now I'm supposed to study for marketing and broadcasting exams?
