  1. Pretty devastated. Chris Campoli, WTF. Re-sign Crawford tomorrow. Give him whatever he wants. Try your best to dump Campbell and shore up the D.
  2. BRUTAL, TERRIBLE, ABYSMAL, HORRIBLE officiating. Unf***ingbelievable.
  3. I think all of Western Michigan heard me scream after Smith's goal. Lost my voice. Now I have to reschedule a final exam so I can watch game 7.
  4. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Growing up in the Chicago Stadium and then the UC prior to 2009 makes you hate the Wings, as well as their fans, more than any other team. Not necessarily because the team is always "classless" on the ice because that hasn't always been the case, but it is a hatred that runs deep. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 08:00 AM) Yeah, my disdain for the Wings was born in the 90s. I still hate the Wings. A lot. But I definitely hate their fans more having to live in Michigan for school. My facebook has been blowing up with idiot "fans" who just love their Red Wings. Literally 3/4 of the people who say anything about the Wings in the playoffs couldn't name you more than 5 players on the roster.
  5. I love Dwight Howard off the court. ON the court, he's a POS.

    Finals Week

It's back. This is my last finals weeks ever. Easy broadcasting final on Tuesday night, then marketing and broadcast seminar finals on Wednesday. I also have a resume demo tape to turn in Tuesday for another broadcasting class. Had a final project yesterday for a different broadcasting class which was a full 10 minutes newscast I produced, wrote, shot, edited, and anchored and I killed it.
  7. QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) Jesus christ, are you kidding me? My post wasn't baiting anyone to continue the stupid argument. It was an effort to get this thread back on track, as opposed to having the same pointless argument for the next 20 pages like we've had over the last few weeks. Seriously, just stop posting about it then. Just stop.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 12:47 AM) I've thought almost all year this was a mediocre team that never could overcome it's losses from last year, and had a group of core players tired from the regular season, playoffs, and in some cases olympics last year. Now, I wonder if maybe I was wrong, and they were merely a sleeping giant with a Cup hangover that lasted 85 games. We'll see in the coming days, I suppose. It's clear they're back in the Canucks head. The Hawks would be best suited to stay there. It's at times of adversity that you see the true colors of people. We could very well be seeing the true colors of these Blackhawks right now. Obviously, they have the heart. Bolland coming back was an incredible boost, and the resurrections of Marian Hossa and Duncan Keith are simply orgasmic. They haven't even peaked yet. Toews and Kane are playing better, but still aren't quite there. Campbell has been contributing MUCH more on both ends of the ice. Leddy is growing into a legit d-man in front of our eyes. And Corey Crawford is just doing work.
  9. Words cannot describe my disdain for Alain Vigneault and his group of f***ing goons in Vancouver. I even hate the Red Wings less. At least they have class. Torres, Bieksa, Edler, Kesler, Lapierre, Glass, Burrows, Raymond. Ugh. And don't even get me started on their fans. I'd love nothing more than to come back from 3-0 to beat Vancouver and absolutely shatter the hopes and dreams of all of Vancouver for the third straight year. Luongo starting game 6 in the UC. Keep it going.
  10. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) Is anyone worried that the 8th seed Pacers are really pushing the Bulls to the limit and are in real trouble versus better teams than the Pacers? This might have been mentioned by someone else earlier, but Chris Webber said it best. The first round matters not. It's a stepping stone. Getting acclimated to playoff basketball. Webber mentioned the Bulls 72 win season when he was in Washington when the Bulls were the 1 seed and WAS was the 8th seed. They got swept in the 1st round but were in it in every game and really played the Bulls hard. Didn't matter, Bulls went on to win the championship. Obviously this team isn't nearly as experienced, nor do they have 3 Hall of Famers on the roster, but the point is the same. This actually reminds me A LOT of the Bulls/Celtics 1st round series two years ago, except the Bulls are in the opposite position now.
  11. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 05:11 PM) One of the best ones, proving this guy knows nothing, is this: 3) You're up 6 - 1, and you're still using your top PP? If I remember correctly, in a blow-out game earlier this season, Quenneville was bad-mouthing the other team for still using their top PP unit (was it against the Canucks?). Why would you contradict yourself? Again, show some class, and let your other players - you know, the one's you've barely played, or did you forget about them? - have some PP time. Well mr. hockey, we put our top guys out there because you were running around like a bunch of ass clowns, so we wanted to tack on another one for good measure. The penalty in reference was the Edler charging call. Usually, yes, you call off the dogs. But Canucks being idiots? Let's go score again. It's the playoffs and its two teams that hate each other. f*** 'em.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 03:56 PM) I never said that. In fact, I think you missed the sentence where I said he never went for the puck. I should have prefaced by saying that I'm not accusing you of that, just stating my opinion of the masses. I didn't miss your point.
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) I know I'm probably in the minority because the hit happened to a Hawk, but looking at this unbiasedly I don't think it warranted a suspension. Interference? It certainly was, as Seabrook never touched the puck. But it was not an elbow at all, he didn't leave his feet, it wasn't from behind/side, and I don't believe he was targeting his head. He never went for the puck, which is troublesome, but if Seabrook did touch the puck it would have been a hard, but legal, hit. There is also more latitude given behind the net on hits than in other areas (NHL words, not mine). Just because a play "looks bad" live doesn't make it a suspension. Let me add that Seabrook put himself in an awful position on the play and needs to take some responsibility to have his head up/have more awareness, especially behind the net. That contributed to the intensity of the hit. I agree with most of this, however, if you don't think Torres came in trying to knock Seabrook's head clean off and into the 8th row, you're kidding yourself. That's where I'd be drawing the line, personally. Malicious intent.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:38 AM) Hopefully he finally figured it out, but I am going to be a doubter just because he has always been in trouble, back to his first arrest in 8th grade. What exactly does he have to figure out? He's been a monster the last few years. A 20/10 guy night in and night out and hasn't been in trouble in a few years.
  15. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) According to CapGeek, the Hawks are at about $8 million under the cap for next year with 14 players accounted for. So not a ton of wiggle room to add. Gonna probably have to hope the young guys improve leaps and bounds, and the current guys rebound. So glad they won last year because the window is so so so small in the NHL with such a low salary cap. Amazing how the Red Wings have managed to be a top 4 seed so many damn years. You've got to be somewhat pleased with the future of the Hawks though. They've got a ton of young talent down in Rockford, and plenty of them got valuable experience this year. Morin, Kruger, Toews, Kane, Frolik, Stalberg, Bickell, Bolland, Smith, Brouwer, Leddy, Hjalmarsson, Seabrook all 25 or younger right now. You've got to be pleased with the way Crawford played this year, especially with the swiss-cheese defense we had in front of him. Then you've got Makarov, Beach, the Hayes brothers, Vishnevskiy and Connolly waiting in the wings. And it seems like the organization is high on Salak, the goalie we got in the Skille deal. The Hawks should be a perennial playoff team for a long time with the core they have. Consistent production from the top players combined with development from the young guys should be enough for the offense to stay strong. The defense needs some help, no doubt, but I also don't think anyone could have, or should have, expected the regression from Keith and Seabrook this year. And the Campbell injury really got us off on the wrong foot to start the year. They don't have much wiggle room, as you mentioned, but they should be able to solidify some things here and there. If they could somehow rid themselves of Soupy's contract, they'd be well on their way. But it's damn near impossible to do.
  16. HILARIOUS http://www.wheresweems.com/?p=7552 #6 is BY FAR mt favorite.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Amen. Hopefully all the main players will be well rested, because of this early exit and they can add some players. Canucks got some great goalkeeping tonight. Hawks had more than a chance to win this one. Oh well. This is the Bulls' turn to reach the Finals. p.s. Is this current goalie the guy you want for the future? I hear Cristobal Huet might be available.
  18. Hawks have a lot of work to do in the offseason.
  19. No goals in this series from Kane, Toews or Hossa. Toews had 1 point in his last 9 games coming in to tonight.
  20. Hawks go up 1-0 on the PP goal by Keith. HUGE. The UC is electric right now. Hawks playing like the 2009-2010 version through the 1st 10 minutes. Finally some urgency.
  21. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) that is a good roommate to have! Absolutely. Ended up bottling something like 60 beers yesterday. He still has about 10 left from his first brew in the fall which was an Oktoberfest.

    i am drunk

Been living in this apartment off-campus for 3 years and we held our last party last night. Insane one to cap off the legend of T2. It was a hell of a run, but now 3/4 of the roommates are graduating. This apartment is as big a part of my life as the house I was born and raised in in Chicago.
