QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 06:20 PM) Without Bosh drawing defenders away Bargnani turned out to be really, really average. If 21-6-2 is average, I want more guys like him then. His percentages are down, obviously, because he's basically the only guy in Toronto who can score. But he can light it up.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 04:59 PM) you mean you cant build a team around Andrea Bargnani, LaMarcus Aldridge, Adam Morrison, or Tyrus Thomas as the star? Bargnani and Aldridge turned out to be really, really good.

Every time I think of Lastings Milledge, I think of interviewing him while he was with the Pirates in the Wrigley clubhouse and the entire team giving him s*** for wearing a hot pink dress shirt.

Happy Birthday, he's 4 feet of snow.

Heard classes were cancelled for tomorrow, so I immediately went to the liquor store and got a 6 pack of Goose Island Honkers Ale, Rogue Dead Guy Ale and a 5th of Hennessy just as Deathstorm 2011 started. Great night, drinking all day tomorrow too. I love college.

Grand Rapids has been getting pelted just as bad as Chicago. Grand Valley State canceled all classes at about 6 PM ET. Only the 3rd ever snow day they've called in 50+ years. So ya, it's bad. Things didn't start getting bad here until about 7 PM. The first few hours was just blowing snow, making a ton of drifts, but since then, we've gotten a lot of snowfall. Not sure how many inches, but the drifts are getting ridiculous. Nonstop snow with 40+ mph winds is nuts. As for family back in Chicago, well, my mom and sister got a hotel downtown to avoid driving home on LSD. Smart choice.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) Just stating the truth, Hopman and Davis Cups are insignificant, doubles tennis is lame. The Davis Cup is far from insignificant.
-
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) Nadal won the French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open all in a row before the Australian Open. Sad to break it to you but grand slams are all that really matters in tennis world. Oh, thanks. I'm new to the sport. I must have missed the part when all those other Grand Slams happened in the last 6 weeks.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 1, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) If you're gonna dominate a sport, it might as well be tennis I don't really need to rebut this.
-
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) Lol Serbian dominance continues? I'd say right now Nadal is far and away the dominator in Tennis and he is definitely not Serbian. Serbia won the Davis Cup, would have won the Hopman Cup, and Djokovic won the Australian Open, all in the last 6 weeks. Thats what I was referring to. And yes, that is dominance.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 04:27 AM) Aussie Open Men's Final looks like it is going to be an awesome match already Djokovic dominated that match, but Murray played terribly. Serbian dominance continues.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 10:11 AM) Ah hahaha. Your point? I never said Kevin Love wasn't awesome... or special... or a player I wouldn't love to have (hell, coming out of UCLA I was one of his backers). I said the statement that he was a top 10 player in the National Basketball Association was utterly stupid, and it remains as such. Kid's got charisma, he's a great interview, and he's a hard worker, but he's nowhere close to a top 10 player in the League. Yes he is. He's VERY close.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Head to Chandler, AZ, and go to the Heart Attack Grill. More for the novelty and to say you've been there, then to enjoy a gourmet meal..... The girls there are pretty sexy, and in skimpy uniforms, and that guy who runs the place was actually back there cooking when we were there. Ha. Definitely a "once in a lifetime" type place. The food really does taste good, but for all the wrong reasons, and the prices are not cheap. Single burger is like $5, and quadruple is like $11 or something. And people wonder....

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) Just perusing through the SLAM forum, and it would appear as though Soxtalk is collectively going to Florida. There are separate threads about Orlando, Jacksonville, and Miami/Fort Lauderdale. Just thought it was ironic. I'm going to Naples this summer.

B&B RIPPING Jason Whitlock right now. Whitlock says Cutler should have stayed in the game until he took a sack, and THEN came out. That's just stupid. And he's citing Brett Favre's love for acting. -

QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) in 5 career games against the packers (including the playoffs), cutler has a QB rating of just under 55 and a record of 1-4. sprained MCL or not, it seems that hanie gave the bears the better chance to win yesterday based on cutler's lack of success against Dom Caper's 3-4 DEF. that's a scary thought when your 3rd string QB (well really 2nd string QB) is even in the same conversation as the team's "franchise" QB. at this point, i really think the packers have gotten into his head. whether that had a factor in the way things played out yesterday afternoon, only Jay and maybe the Bears coaching staff will ever know... Not a chance. His week 17 struggles had a lot more to do with Martz' stupid play calling. And his Bears debut/debacle 4-int game skews those numbers a lot. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) I know you say this half-joking, but it's actually true. If there was anyone who could go out there and play effectively just off his arm strength alone, it would be Jay Cutler. And as soon as he made a poor throw people would be all over him, saying he sucked and that he's "Bad Jay." Come on. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) Ptatc brings up a good point...did they ever try a brace on the knee? Also, did Lovie mention what play is took place on? Cutler didn't even know on which play it happened, so how would Lovie? All they know was that it was one of the last 2 drives of the 1st half. -

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) The titanic was sinking and the captain decided to sit and watch...and he didn't even try to help his backups. Say what you will about Favre, you sissified sob's, but he'd have fought to go down with the ship himself, oh, and he would have stayed out there with 50 completely torn ligaments. And he'd have hurt his team much more than he would have helped it only to feed his oversized, stupid-ass ego. He's done it many times. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) Thanks, I probably have a better insight of medical stuff on this board (besides ptatc). To say the MCL is completely torn is wrong. I'd love to know what B&B have to say about this now. fathom, you disgust me. -

A strain IS a tear. It is NOT a rupture.
