  1. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) 1. 7 is WAY too many just in general for a league, no matter the settings. 2. You have to monitor the Carolina situation, but if DeAngelo leaves like expected, Stewart should be a Top 10 RB. He is a definite keeper. 3. If everyone in your league is keeping 5-7 players, I can't image the first round having much better talent at WR than Dez Bryant, so I say keep. I agree 7 is too many, but I didn't choose the settings, so oh well. One team will be leaving the league for sure (and be replaced) and all his players are sure to be left available. Of those, Ray Rice, Arian Foster, Lesean McCoy, Sidney Rice, Aaron Rodgers. Problem is I don't know how many will be there for me in a theoritcal 6th round, maybe 7th.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) Um, first of all, holy s*** on your team. 12 team league? Really? Wow. Anyways, I absolutely keep Bryant. I'd strongly consider Freeman or Stewart as well. Do you need to decide now? If so go Freeman since we don't know what kind of mess Carolina will be or not next year yet. Hahaha, well I WAS league champion. But Williams and Romo were both picked up after others foolishly dropped them once they went on IR. Stewart was a late season pickup for me as well and was a clutch flex guy for me the last 4 weeks or so. And no, I don't need to decide now. I think I have until June, but wanted opinions while football is still fresh in people's minds.
  3. How the hell does Boozer not play the 4th quarter?
  4. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) So now that the new NFL OT rules take place (each team gets a possession unless the first team scores a TD), if you had 4th and goal from inside the 3, do you go for the win and risk the other team moving the ball down field from the 3 or do you kick the FG and allow the other team to field the kick off? I think I go for the win. I'll take my chances with my offense needing to get 3 yards vs theirs needing to go 97. I'd go for it every time.
  5. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 11:04 PM) geez hawks are going to struggle just to make the playoffs Really frustrating game. They got dominated in the neutral zone and Dallas played stellar D all night. It's like they forgot how to pass and handle the puck. It's nice that their healthy, but penalties have KILLED them. I think 5 of the last 7 goals have been on the PK.

  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) I think their season pretty much rests on whether or not Porcello can become a good third option and if they can find a decent 5th starter. 2 of the 3 guys they were counting on to anchor their rotation for a decade were sent down to the minors last year. I'm not worried about the Tiggers. Especially since we normally do well against them head to head.
  8. Ok, got a question for you guys and gals. I'm in a 12 team, ESPN keeper league in fantasy football. The league gives you the option of 7 keepers, but you don't have to use all 7. The 5 I KNOW for sure I'm keeping: Philip Rivers Michael Turner Jamaal Charles Hakeem Nicks Vernon Davis Now, I have some other options too. If I was to keep just those 5, I'd have 2 picks at the beginning of next years draft to pick from the best of the non-keepers. My other keeper options: Jonathan Stewart Deangelo Williams Dez Bryant Tony Romo Josh Freeman Ryan Matthews Thoughts?
  9. Saints running game took a big hit. Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory both out, placed on IR.
  10. QUOTE (credescrew24 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 06:17 PM) Take this for what it's worth but recently I was out at the mall here in socal and ran into the halos GM Tony Regans and had a chance to talk to him for a bit...he showed luv to sox fans and saw my sox tattoo on my leg and be for he left I asked for anyinside info on rumblings for the offseason. Instantly he a huge smile and said that we were guna be getting someone else good soon...??? What do u guys think could it be soriano? Let's hope another AL gm knows something in the works haha... While I'd love to think that this means we're signing Soriano, I would think it was more in terms of the attitude and aggressiveness of Kenny Williams and he didn't know anything specifically.
  11. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) Just got a subscription to Netflix. I'm pumped. I might need to take the semester off from school to catch up on all my TV show and movie watching... Take advantage of the Watch Instantly movies. A great selection.
  12. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 01:37 AM) if u want to talk about nonsense, how about all the cheering and ovation scalabrine receives. It's better than cheering for a Big Mac, IMO. At least it has something to do with the game. He's the human victory cigar. People cheer for him just as the Lakers and Wolves fans cheered for Mark Madsen, or the Mavs fans cheered for Eduardo Najera, or the Pistons fans used to cheer for Darko. Scalabrine has an absolutley legendary status in Boston.
  13. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) Depends if they get Harbaugh as their next coach I suppose. Although it'd be interesting to see what would happen with Teboe also. They apparently want a 2nd rounder for Kyle Orton also (cue Bears fans in hysterics).... I think Harbaugh's best option is to go to Carolina and pick Luck 1st. He'd be very familiar with his QB obviously, they'd have a very talented backfield, and they could trade Claussen for picks to draft some WR/OL.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) What rookie qb wouldn't have stunk on that Panthers team. They are awful top to bottom. They actually had a solid running game when their RB's were actually healthy. Stewart was great for them in the last 5 weeks or so.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) I'm a bit young to say this from exact memories but I recall Chicago Stadium being ridiculous. I'm not talking about Chicago Stadium. But since Jordan has been gone, the fans at the UC have been bad. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) It's called sponsorships, and really, who cares if people are cheering really loud for a free Big Mac? That means the Bulls have won and scored triple digits, not a big deal. I worked at McDonald's when I was a teenager for 3 years and only one person I can remember (because I actually knew the family) came in and used the ticket stub for one so I don't think it is people that are really overly excited about a free sandwich more so than most of the stadium giving a sarcastic applause And I think many people are going the Stubhub way now (at least I do) and spending $5-$20 on a ticket, so maybe some people really ARE excited about the Bigmac LOL I've seen them cheer for 100 points even in losing efforts. Scoring 100 doesn't guarantee a win in the NBA. I blame the crowds at Bulls games on Cubs fans really. More of a thing to do/social event rather than a sporting event.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:06 PM) I could have swore people said the same thing about Rodriguez a few years ago. They did. Michigan fans are hopelessly annoying. I was just mentioning to a bunch of my friends that I wish we could go back to DEC 2007 to see them rejoicing with the hiring of Rodroguez. Now, they are happy he's gone. I'll give them credit for their loyalty but my goodness...
  17. QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) WHAT?! That's ludicrous. It's supposed to be like $20 for a 4 pack. Just last Christmas there was a ton of it at Binny's and now it's $50 a bottle? I can tell you one thing, it isn't worth $50. It's a good beer, but I would never buy it again at the normal price. Also, there were various Bourbon County stouts this year included one made with vanilla and some that were aged longer. It could have been one of those. Ya, I was pretty shocked. I was expecting to get the 4-pack, but that's all they had.
  18. Found a liquor store that had Bourbon Country Stout. $50 for a bottle. No thanks.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) For the season the Heat are at 100.7% of capacity (good for 5th in the NBA). Let's put that thought to rest. FWIW, Bulls are #1 at 102.6% of capacity, averaging almost 1,000 more fans than the #2 team. I really think not enough is made of how amazing a basketball city Chicago is... I couldn't disagree more. The Bulls have always been able to fill the UC, but the fans suck HARD. They cheer more for 100 points than anything else. There are seriously times where the stadium is silent. There isn't much of an atmosphere at Bulls games.
  20. Going to the Hawks game tomorrow night. Haven't gone since game 1 of the SCF. Hoping to bring some good luck on this homestand. Lord knows we need it. As for last nights game, obviously a huge win, but I'm happy with the resiliency they showed. Always great to have Captain Serious back. Kane looked much better as well and the power play, outside of 1, looked fantastic. Hossa scoring is huge as well. We HAVE to get these guys going.
  21. I am thoroughly enjoying all of the struggles at the University of Michigan right now.

Kick-Ass was actually an extremely enjoyable movie and not what I was expecting. I liked it a lot. And Lyndsy Fonseca is so hot.
  23. I'll be receiving a degree in Broadcasting this December with an emphasis in Broadcast News. It's a lot more specific than most degrees, but certainly a field in which you don't really have a shot unless you have some sort of degree in communication or the likes. It's also a consistently competitive field. I'd ultimately like to be a play by play guy one day but I know it's going to be ridiculously hard. The unpredictability is the hardest thing for me to deal with, personally. I have no idea what I'll be doing after I graduate, and its only about 11 months away. It's scary. Through internships I've done and talking to people in the industry, there's really only one thing that you can do, and this applies to any job market really: make yourself an asset. When I finished my internship last summer and was told I was one of the better interns they've had from one person and called a go-to-guy by another person, it gave me a ton of confidence.
