QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 10:31 AM) I wonder how insistent the Sox are on PK taking 2 years. Maybe something creative can be worked out for the third. Boom!

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 03:44 AM) I have you beat. This week I have: 2 presentations 3 projects 2 papers 2 finals 2 homework assignments That's just what I have due tomorrow, which is now today. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 03:05 AM) Oh good, so I'm not the only one procrastinating? It's 3am and I still haven't started a paper that's due tomorrow. I'm an idiot... I just finished a marketing assignment due tomorrow. Now I'm working on a 10 minute presentation & power point for a film culture class. After this, I have 3 2-page analyses to do and then go over another 4-6 minute presentation for tomorrow. Yay.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 02:28 AM) Paranoid much? Nope. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 02:31 AM) Seriously, who in their right minds spends 10 million dollars to hurt a team not even in your own division? I don't think it was directly to screw KW over, obviously. But I could see it having gone through his head.

QUOTE (chunk23 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 02:01 AM) Low low low BABIP last year, yet still had a nice Iso. He should bounce back nicely against the NLCentral's terrible pitching. He hit .186 on the road last year with a .222 BABIP. He hit .207 at home with a .221 BABIP.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 01:43 AM) Jim Hendry just had to ruin the 1B market didn't he? Ugh. I hate to play conspiracy theorist but the Cubs are completely rebuilding and are on the verge of shedding Ramirez, Silva's and Fukudome's contracts, as well as Dempster and Zambrano's after 2012. They aren't competing any time soon. On the other hand, we nabbed Peavy and Dunn from them. Could Hendry be doing it to f*** KW over?

Heyman confirming deal is done between Cubs and Pena.
-
If Carlos Pena and his .732 OPS are about to get 10 million, this could be bad news.
-
Apparently the Cubs and Carlos Pena are close on a 1 year, $10 million deal. Wow.
-
Simply because I need to find other way to prevent myself from being productive. This is my last real finals week. Wow.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) Yep, but the one thing that would have me somewhat concerned if I was an MSU fan is that this team is made up of basically all JRs and SRs. They shouldn't be struggling like this right now. They're averaging 18 TO's a game to boot. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) They do this every year. Ranked top 5 preseason, lose some games out of conference, win the Big Ten, make the Final Four, repeat. Oh I'm aware of their tendencies, doesn't mean it's guaranteed to happen every year. And that's part of my problem with all the MSU fans I have to deal with daily. I respect Izzo, but after that I can't stand anything about that school and it's fans. They make it seems like it's ok to lose games all the time. If I had a $1 for every time I heard "They'll be fine in March" I'd be a thousandaire. -

I love it when Michigan State fails. -
Morosi: #Rays and #WhiteSox are showing interest in Accardo. Intriguing buy-low for pen. #BlueJays

QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) More and more I'm rooting for DLee and some bullpen arms.... I'm kinda rooting for this too. It'd be pretty cool to have him back in Chicago on the South Side. I was the last person in the Chicago media to interview him on his last day as a Cub.
-
I too would be interested in attending, but only if I can see if Heads is really ferociously cute.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Well, I can find objections to 3 of those. Santos is still something of a newbie at this, as is Sale, and Pena has been below average. Santos did quite well for a newbie, and another off-season and ST as a reliever can't hurt. Sale was awesome and there's a reason he went so high in the draft. Pena was below average overall, but he was HUGE for us in an unexpected long relief role. And there's no denying he has great stuff.
-
The bullpen panic is funny to me. We have 3 legitimate relief options in Thornton, Santos, and Pena, and a 4th in Sale. Yet people are saying we have 1 reliever.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) in the last two years PK has more than twice the number of plate appearances. Who cares about early in their careers? DLee is injury prone, PK is not I'm sorry, but you are incredibly mistaken.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) Post of the decade! Haha, I try.
-
I love moves like this. He and Maybin were the main pieces that allowed DET to get Cabrera and now they're both out of Florida. If I was a GM, I'd go to town on low risk, high reward guys.
-
White Sox are very interested in Kerry Wood.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 01:48 AM) Talked to the girl that saw my penis the other night. Described it a "ferociously cute." I have no idea what that means. She may or may not be disappointed by it's size, but she's intrigued. Pursue and conquer.

SI_JonHeyman #chisox, konerko talks appear to be going well.he'll likely get $12.5 mil a year, maybe 3 yrs. #rangers, #orioles other options.

Before Boozer, the Bulls don't win if Rose only scores 11.
