  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) That's my point. That's why you don't let players play GM. MJ is a classic case of that. Seems like they're scrambling to appease Dwight Howard. How is Arenas + whatever in place of Carter + whatever an upgrade? Or Even Arenas for Lewis? Even Lewis can stretch the floor with his 3P ability. Something Arenas can't do. Lews' 3PT% inly about 4 points higher than Arenas', 36 to 32.
  2. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) I think people understimate how much Lewis has regressed over the past season or 2. That said, we're going to miss Gortat's size against the likes of Boston come playoff time. I think a move had to be made as it's been said about Dwight Howard opting out of his contract next off-season. However our TO ratio probably went up quite a lot with the acquisitions of Hedo and Arenas. Is this the right move, I don't know. It's going to take Arenas at least half a season to learn SVG's complicated defensive schemes, and learn how to play the 1 in 4 out style of offense we employ.I'm hoping Hedo can get back to where he was when he made the NBA Finals but I think he's past his best, PHX have done well to dump that contract and get a decent big back. It's just a gigantic exchange of bad contracts and bad/old/regressing players. Richardson is the best player in the deal.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) If a team showed interest in me while my team was sending every player with talent away the moment they brought up the idea of being paid a fair amount, I'd jump ship, too. It's easy to say that in generality when the teams aren't the Blackhawks and the Red Wings.
  4. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Well Carter's been pretty woeful defensively, and the way Carmelo Anthony tore us to shreds the other night was probably the final straw. I would still like to keep Bass in the starting lineup, and play J Rich in a Jason Terry style 6th man actually. I just don't think these moves make them better.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) Chris Chelios was the face of the franchise for a decade, played through every injury, and won two Norris Trophies. He spent his prime on a team that traded off all of his teammates and phenomenal players such as Jeremy Roenick and Ed Belfour to name just a couple. The Blackhawks completely stopped trying in the late 90s and THEY gave up on him predicting he was nearing the end of his rope. Chelios requested a trade to a contender, and the Blackhawks presented him with the option of the Detroit trade, which I'm sure was a difficult choice. He won Cups in Montreal and Detroit, and the only stop he couldn't was his hometown Chicago because ownership sucked big time and basically gave up for the 2nd half of his tenure with the Hawks. Yeah, let's boo the guy for being the best defenseman in the NHL for the better part of a decade on our roster and watching management completely destroy the roster around him. Anyone who booed Chelly last night is an idiot. Right. That's one side to the story. The other side being that he said he'd never ever play for the Wings, then played there for 10 seasons and now work in their front office. Like I said, I understand why people would feel either way. I'm kind of indifferent to it. Like I told someone else, it'd be like Dick Butkus playing for the Packers.
  6. Are the Magic just going to try and outshoot the living hell out of everyone? They're perimeter defense is going to take a hit. Nelson/Arenas/Richardson/Hedo/Howard?

    I'd use the stall, primarily because the short urinals are just WAY too low for me. At 6'6, I'd either have to stand back a foot or squat down in front of it lol.

    i am drunk

    QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 11:45 PM) I guess I should clarify a bit...in the metropolitan areas of the North, Midwest, and West Coast, vodka seemed to supplant whiskey and bourbon as the hard liquor of choice. But my beloved brown liquors are rising again in popularity. Whiskey and cognac is where it has been and always will be at.
  9. Is it bad that I hope Tim Tebow never sees an NFL field again?
  10. Chelios got booed. Not sure how I feel about it. I can see both sides.
  11. I'll never stay at a Red Roof Inn. The chances of that are........................remote.

  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) This is probably one of those things that has the potential to get a lot worse if it's not corrected. Apparently it is the exact opposite. They let him play tonight because there was literally nothing he could do to make it worse.
  17. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) One thing that I like about it, is that he not going to be with Minny. I'm not sure what type of stats our line up had against him, but the times that I saw him, we didn't do very well at all. I kind of remember him making us look silly at the plate. He started throwing his slider more frequently and it worked.
  18. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) ill pass on wood, he was ok last yr but i dont want him. hes too wild(6.2 walks per 9in), was a cub and doesnt want to be here and i perfer that our pitchers actually throw baseballs, not towels Wrong frequently injured Cub pitcher.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) A 6 inning set up man apparently.They're called starting pitchers.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) Wood be fascinating to see Wood come here, as it would have to be with the promise of being a closer. If this happens, someone like Quentin or Danks or Floyd is definitely getting traded. It's likely, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary. None of us know exactly how much they have to spend, so it's all speculation. I'd much rather just sit back and see what happens.
  21. Man, this off-season would be BEYOND incredible if this was to happen too.
  22. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) ok so now someone tell me,since im confused, why havent the twins resigned anyone or signed anyone in general?? what happend to all the money they made this yr with their new park? Joe Mauer got a FAT extension.
  23. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) Somebody give me some more confirmation Umm, I'd say Gammons is pretty legit. Anywho, Merkin just confirmed. Article on whitesox.com soon.
