The NBA is a f***ing joke. And Boston is a piece of s*** team led by it's piece of s*** leader Kevin Garnett. They just got 3 straight and-1's. Oh, and KG gets away with swinging an elbow at Bogut.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) I was in a different state when it happened to my best friend's dog that I basically adopted (my mom was allergic so couldnt have one at my house but my friend was a neighbor so I was with him every day). My friend's mom couldn't even tell me on the phone about the news of putting him down, but I knew right away why she called (he had bone cancer and it was known he was going to have to be put down soon). Really sorry for the loss, a pet can really be a best friend. She had some sort of bone disease in her spine which rapidly got worse. Essentially, her vertebrae were slowly disintegrating and she was in a lot of pain the last week so they decided to put her down. Worst part is we adopted her right after my parents divorced, so it's twice as s***ty. Just really tough to handle right now.

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) I've been there man. I'm sorry for your loss. I appreciate it. It's just so hard to wrap my mind around since I'm away from home. Finding closure will be tough.

My family had to put my dog to sleep tonight while I'm away at school. I'm a wreck.

I f***ing love Halloween. I also really love Jameson Whiskey.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) It depends on how many miles and what kind of shape the car is in. 2 years ago, I would have taken my 1993 Camry pretty much anywhere, and sort of did...I drove from Vermillion to Bismarck quite a few times, down to Sioux City several times, up to Minneapolis, to Fargo, and I was ready to go to Denver in it too (but the plans got canceled at the last second). Now that engine is beginning to go out, I'm afraid to make a 1 hour drive. I make the 3 hour drive from Chicago to Grand Rapids in it many times. The engine is in great shape. *knock on wood*

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 02:57 AM) You were prepared to drive a car made in 1996 over 1600 miles in 2 days? f*** ya. Anyway, got it fixed for $125. Baby purrs now.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 06:23 PM) I think my friend's did too today. And we're supposed to be driving to South Bend tomorrow so I hope it gets fully fixed. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) That sucks. Similar thing happened to me my freshman year of college. We were supposed to drive to St. Louis for the MVC tournament and my buddies car broke down literally like at 11 o'clock the night before. I didn't have my car in Carbondale at the time so it was quite the panic for a while until we found out about the greyhound. Ouch, luckily I didn't have anywhere specific to go today or tomorrow, but it did happen right after I volunteered to take my car down to South Padre Island for Spring Break.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 12:20 AM) The 4th was awful. I was having Vinny flashbacks. My initial reaction was 'good thing we got another rookie coach that doesn't know how to coach the last 5 minutes.' Obviously, that's unfair but it is a concern until he proves otherwise. And yeah, the 2s are brutal on this team. Keith Bogans starting? Ugh. It's hard to get excited when they don't have Boozer and have no shot of getting out of the 2nd round anyway. I thought Bogans actually played really well. He basically did what Thabo did for OKC. The problem is, we don't have a Kevin Durant. OKC is a tough matchup because Durant might be the best player in the league, Green can really open up the offense and get a big out of the lane which leads to 2nd chance opportunities, and you have guys who can hit outside shots and slash as well. They're just a great team. To have been in position to win the game late is a good sign with your 2nd scoring option out. And FWIW, if this team can really crack down and be a top defensive team, I think they can beat anyone.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) Just watched game on delay. WTF on fouls? 27 to 11!! I am sure it was discussed earlier in the thread, but that discrepancy is ridiculous. 50 f***ING free throws are you ridiculous!! Ya, I knew it was on early after Durant got a block on a blatant charge. The phantom goaltend really turned things around too.

Those bulls were horrid in the last 6 minutes and it cost them the game. Rose lost his aggressiveness. They forced plays for Kyle Korver for some unknown reason, and they couldn't hit a jumper to save they're life. Once Boozer gets on the court and Scalabrine finds the end of the bench, we'll be golden.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 01:21 AM) I'm struggling real hard this year to come up with a costume because mine the last 2 years have been so damn good. It's actually starting to drive me crazy. What's everyone else going as? Here's a good option, especially if you have a friend: Jonny Quest and Hadji.
-
I am disappointed in myself this year as well. I've had such great costumes the last 3 years and I just couldn't come up with something great this year to top it. My freshman year I was the doll from Saw, Soph year we went as a group as the Alltel commercial guys (I was Sprint), and last year, I pulled off the most epic Mugatu costume the planet has ever seen. This year I'm going to be Al Borland. I thought long and hard about Old Gregg, but I just don't know that enough people will know it and that I can actually do it.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 10:53 PM) Call the local junk yards and auto salvage places. I had a dead starter on my 2001 Saturn replaced with a salvaged starter for 1/4 the cost of a new unit. Eh, it's a 1996. I'd rather just have a new or rebuilt one to save the hassle in the future.

QUOTE (3E8 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 09:14 AM) Mike Ilitch is one of the richest Americans, worth nearly 2 billion. The Tigers have the ammo if they choose to use it, they do not have "far less" to spend than the White Sox Exactly. Illitch will spend as much as his heart desires, he always has. The only question is will his recent purchase of the Pistons affect his spending. I say probably not. -
The starter in my car died today. This sucks.

Jackass 3D is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) One of the things I like about baseball is every field is different. Hockey has gottena way from that. Of course football and basketball have all been about the same. Wha........?

Anyone fish Western Michigan at all? I'm going to try to get out there before everything freezes for some late catfish. Looking at some areas on the Grand and St. Joseph rivers.

Hawks were up 2-0 now down 3-2. Dumb major by Brouwer led to a PP goal and 2 other deflections have the Hawks down. They seem to be lacking that timeliness and crisp passing they've had.

QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) oh man I cant wait for the Miami/Chicago game.. Cameron Wake is going to eat Jay Cutler alive with that line you guys got.. They've been pretty good stopping pass-rushers, outside of the NYG game I guess, but we did well against Matthews and Ware. It's been the blitz pick-up in general that has killed them, not one really effective pass-rusher. Although they seem to have gotten progressively worse so who knows.

Jerry Angelo has NO excuses for not improving this oline, ever, for the last 3-4 years.

Apparently Tom Hardy has been cast in "a lead role" in the new Batman movie.
