QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) The only thing he sucks at is hitting, and in his good years, he's not even that bad. I haven't busted out the numbers on his fielding because I thought people knew Inge was actually a pretty good defender, but now I don't have much of a choice... As a 3B, Brandon Inge has racked up a UZR of +34.7 at 3B, that's 5.9 runs saved per 150 games. Over the past 3 years, Inge is ranked 8th among all full-time 3B in UZR, only behind names like Longoria, Beltre, Zimmerman, Figgins, Rolen, and Feliz. Over the past three years, Inge also ranks 6th among all 3B in Plus/Minus, only behind some of the names I listed above. What's funny is that over the past three years, Inge is also the leader among all 3B in zone rating, which is the amount of balls the fielder can handle that are in his zone. So your Tigers fan friends aren't exactly right about him being terrible at routine plays. I don't tell them what to think. But I'll take the word of those who watch every game.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) Worst case scenario from Ric Bucher; I think I can take SOME solace in the fact that there is no way the Bulls TRULY strike out. At worst, we'll land one of Boozer or Lee, which still improves the team quite a bit. And you'll have more cap space to work with as well.

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) sportsguy33 BTW: The only thing I'd bet on - Wade back to Miami. I think he's milking this for his doc. No way he walks away from 30m during a divorce. 3 minutes ago via web He also said in his previous posts that this is just him guessing. He doesn't have any inside information.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:19 PM) I'm sure Jason Goff has some decent sources, but the dude told us that Wade and Bosh to the Bulls was imminent on Saturday. I'm not believing another thing he says. At this point, the only people I'm paying attention to are Wojnarowski, KC Johnson, and David Aldridge.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) In other words he's human just like every player and every manager put under a microscope. All most fans do is gripe about players inadequacies . It's all well and good for message board fodder. I'd imagine if a player fielded and batted 1.000 we'd still hear about how he wears his hat wrong or how ugly he is or w/e else the sheep are bleating about that day. I'm really not sure what you're trying to say. Inge is a pretty bad player that Leyland loves and plays all the time, similar to what Ozzie has done with certain guys. Thats all I'm saying.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) Stop hating. AJ posted a very vague tweet based off a rumor that was all over the place. If you have a problem with it, don't follow, but don't lump SLTC in with what Jason Goff has been doing. I guess I just hate the use of the phrase "I'm hearing."
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) AJ (the man behind that tweet) has done nothing to represent himself as someone within the inner circle and knowing what's going on... it's all entertainment from SLTC. What about this tweet? http://twitter.com/LeBrontoChicago/status/17614261985 And I know your stance and involvement in this. But it's becoming quite a bit of a farce.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Only way I'd do it is if we could pull off some major deal to land Carmelo using Noah or Gibson or a combo of those guys plus Deng and draft picks (Or Brandon Roy). Which isn't happening, especially with multiple reports saying Denver has no interest in trading Carmelo at this time.

Amare agrees to 5 year deal with Knicks: http://www.nba.com/2010/news/07/05/stoudem...icks/index.html

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) Eh, I think this is the same thought process people had about Alexei. Overall, Inge is a good fielder. If sure handedness was the measure of good defense, Jeter would be one of the best defenders in baseball - he's clearly not. Except Inge really does suck. Like, a lot.

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) Prediction: Wade never had any intention of leaving the Heat, same with Lebron, though Lebron actually considered it mildly Could be really devastating for Bulls fans if we end up with Boozer and David Lee, ouch Why would we ever sign both Boozer and Lee? We're going to play 3 power forwards at the same time?
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) Toronto for getting nothing in return. They're basically getting played. But if Bosh is all about getting the larger deal, they can basically tell him to f*** off. They knew he was going anyway.
-
QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) ouch. Is there a story behind this? Ya, both parties trying to make a name for themselves all the while pissing off all the people who are actually trying to keep up with real/relevant sources.
-
Amare to the Knicks is done, should be announced within the next hour according to David Aldridge.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) If Toronto takes too long, they get nothing. People think Bosh can't live without the extra $30 million, what's that supposed to mean? Sprewell can't feed his kids, now Chris Bosh can't either? Bosh will find himself another contract later on, he doesn't need the extra $30 million, he would like to have it, but if Toronto's being too picky, Bosh might just say screw it. I understand the position that Toronto is in though. Bosh has basically made it known that he is leaving Toronto, but he needs them for the extra year and the extra money that no one else can offer, so he puts them in a really s***ty position. Who's the bigger loser? Bosh for not getting the bigger contract, or Toronto for getting nothing in return for him?
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) What's wrong with Brandon Inge? I know he can't hit, but his defense is pretty damn good. Except it really isn't. He'll make some spectacular plays at 3rd, but he also makes some dumb mistakes and will botch routine plays.
-
Niemi has filed for arbitration. Hawks can still sign him beforehand.
-
QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) If there was going to be a S&T with the Heat you would think it would have gone down already. Miami doesn't have much that the Raptors would want. I know it's better to get something for Bosh then let him leave for nothing, but, it still seems like Miami doesn't have the pieces. I think it has more to with Colangelo wanting more than Beasley. He's trying to play the "we have all the leverage" card and its not really working. All the reports say they want Noah if its Chicago but the Bulls won't budge. Who knows.

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) As someone from Southeast Michigan, most of my friends are Tigers fans, and you are absolutely right. They HATE Leyland, and make some pretty persuasive arguments as to why. If you think Ozzie makes some headscratchers, just try watching Leyland for a full season. That said, probably Gardenhire by a slim-ish margin Ya, I go to school in Michigan and am there for 9 months out of the year surrounded by Tigers and Wings fans. Its horrible. And what people blame Ozzie for doing with guys like Kotsay or Mackowiak or whatever, Tigers fans have been crying about this for years with Brandon Inge.
-
Jim Leyland is a horrificly bad manager. Overuses his pitchers, doesn't have a clue about using a bullpen. And he's older than dirt. If White Sox fans hate Ozzie, then there is no word to decribe Tigers fan's feelings towards Leyland. I'd take Guillen 8 days a week over Leyland.
-
Gardenhire Guillen and then some....Leyland.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) If you can get Bosh, do you trade Noah to Raptors? If all it took was Noah AND we were getting one of Lebron/Wade, then yes. Then you're probably looking at dealing Deng for some depth. The deal with POR makes sense with Przybilla and Bayless if its Bosh and Lebron. Rose/Bayless/Lebron/Bosh/Przybilla Or the Deng for Okur deal and then go out and sign a SG and end up with Rose/FA/Lebron/Bosh/Okur. If it's Wade/Bosh, you're looking at probably starting Asik, which I probably wouldn't have a problem with: Rose/Wade/Deng/Bosh/Asik.

Chad Ford: "Understated: Cavs can't offer 'Bron $30M more if he only signs a 3 yr deal. Only $1M more than other teams."

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 12:40 AM) I hear you. I couldn't possibly be more pessimistic about LeBron right now, but I feel reasonably good about Wade. I just hope we get somebody at this point though. I'm still cautiously optimistic. I think its down to CLE, CHI, and NJ for Lebron. I really don't see him going to NY, and if he did, I'd have a lot less respect for him, not that it matters. In my eyes, the main thing is that I don't see why he'd wait until after his kids basketball camp to make his decision if he was staying in Cleveland.

Don't know if this was posted or not, but this is amazing and BOLD as s***. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont...?urn=nba,253378 And just to ramble a bit more on whats going on, it really seems that things are looking promising for the Bulls. Not a peep out of Lebron during this whole thing. Not a peep out of the Bulls front office. All this about Wade wanting to be in the best situation for his family in Chicago. Lebron waiting to make his announcement until AFTER his camp.
