  1. Make it happen Kenny. Then re-sign him.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 12:29 PM) Oh I understand that...do goals in a penalty shootout count as goals? If not, so he may have scored plenty of PKs before in a shootout situation before? It was probably just an unfortunate coincidence. No, they do not.
  3. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 12:26 PM) Scoring from the penalty spot isn't exactly the same as scoring from open play. There are plenty of defenders who are very good penalty takers. 2-way defenders are the most beautiful thing to watch. See: Maicon.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 12:09 PM) That he's never scored outside of MLS. And that had been your only justification up until your last post to back up your initial statement on the subject. Perhaps I should have been clearer. I didn't mean LITERALLY never scored a goal/ I'm quite aware that he has actually scored goals outside of the MLS. All 2 or 3 of them. I meant scoring/finishing form. Unlike you seem to believe, I actually watch the sport and talk about it.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 12:05 PM) Deleted your first post huh. Wasn't claiming he was, just wanted to address your made up comment. What comment did I make up? And ya, I deleted my first post. It said "STUD." Caps lock on, internet slow, accidentally clicked post. Conspiracy!
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) 6 games with Villareal and he's scored a goal. Studly enough for them to loan him out twice to 2nd league teams. 28 games at Hull, 1 goal.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) I dont know if I'd go that far, but you are one of the more informed posters of international soccer here so it's nice seeing that sentiment coming from a non-American. You hear that DHAH0, you're like, the resident soccer expert on SoxTalk! CLEARLY its because Australia beat Serbia.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 11:50 AM) He was one of the youngest players in the entire tournament. How the hell doesn't it apply? I mean s***, everybody is going gaga over Alexandre Pato (21) and he wasn't even included in Brazil's team. Pato has had success at Milan already, but Jozy's rights are owned by Villareal. Not exactly a crap club. So it's not just Americans who see something in him. And you still havent addressed the questions of why. That Serbia flame out must really be bothering you still. Ya, his rights are owned by Villareal, awesome. He's played only a handful of games there and hasn't scored goal anywhere outside of the MLS. And again, what does Serbia have to do with anything related to Altidore?
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) Hey, that's about as long as I've regularly posted here, and it's been going on that entire time. Four years is a pretty long time when it represent more than 15 percent of your total time on earth like it does for me, although I do admit I don't know the full history of the country you seem to like far more than the one you actually live in. Why the f*** does it matter to you who I root for?
  10. Yes, I'm not an Altidore fan because of "years of tough Serbia losses" even though they have only playing under that name since 2006.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) Dont mind his opinion. He must be bitter since the US won their group and Serbia finished last in their grouping, especially since he said the US shouldnt be involved in anything soccer related. Ya, thats what it is. Good call.
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 08:04 AM) Based on what? Kid is just 20, has a great physical make up and has already had success. This is soccer. "Just 20" doesn't apply.
  13. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) I believe I heard/read that the Bulls have no interest in Amare and prefer Boozer. But at least with Boozer he won't get a max deal (~$10-11 mil is what I read). They love Johnson, and also like Boozer over Amare, but Bosh over both. And I've heard/read $13 for Boozer.
  14. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?i...DALLASHeadlines Lebron, Wade, and Bosh met in Miami Monday night.
  15. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) I love Altidore and think he will be a bonafide stud by next World Cup but they need to find someone to put next to him. Don't count on it.
  16. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 11:35 PM) My sources tell me that Lebron and Bosh are going to join the TuneSquad because they feel teaming up with Michael is the best chance to win a ring. Stealing this as my facebook status...
  17. Hoping for Lebron/Bosh, bracing myself for Johnson/Lee.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 10:47 PM) How much value does Toronto get if Bosh just opts out? We could also include the first we get from Charlotte.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) The dissapointment in Buff by the front office was his point totals. The guy simply didnt become what they thought he could until they faced the Canucks in the playoffs. Beach is the guy they think could play that role coming next season. I would guess ALL of the young guys in the parade will be up with the team next year. Even Toivonen?
  20. I think all the Bulls previous Free Agency failures have made me weary. When we signed Ben Wallace, I thought we were on our way. Obviously that is not even in the same galaxy as signing Lebron. But what if we strike out? What if we end up with David Lee or something?
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) If LeBron signs, that is top 3 for me behind only the Bulls and Sox championships. (1 behind the Hawks title since I'm a bigger NBA fan and wasn't alive for the Bears one) This is getting out of hand. Championships > Free Agent Signings no matter the sport. Signing Lebron guarantees us nothing except a playoff birth.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) The Hinrich trade off-setted the Byfuglien loss from my end tremendously (though the same friend who loved Byfuglien yesterday liked Hinrich alot too so he's having a bad week) One of the top 10 most happiest days of my life as far as sports in Chicago. Peace Kirk! I won't be happy or sad until Free Agency is resolved.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Well yeah. But I'm certainly not counting chickens yet. Hopefully that report is bulls***. That's a scary f***ing thought. The Hornets could certainly do better than a washed up Vince and good but hardly great PG for arguably the best all-around PG in the game when healthy. I'm still bracing myself for a Johnson/Boozer combo. I just don't have enough faith.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) What the f*** is this s***? http://www.clickorlando.com/magic/24029691/detail.html This is some serious bad news for the eastern conference. A healthy Chris Paul and Howard? New Orleans CANNOT be stupid enough to do that deal.
  25. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) A guy who shoots 41% on the floor on mostly open jump shots is not a good shooter and while Hinrich tries hard and is a good defender he is far from a lock down defender and that is what it takes for me to consider someone great on that end of the floor. Perhaps "streaky" is a better adjective, but I still think he's a good shooter. And name 5 "lock-down" defenders in the NBA now-a-days. It doesn't exist.
