Looks like Taillon, Machado, and Colon next 3.

Bud Selig is a bum.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) Calipari would be the only other candidate realistically who they could get which would probably appease Lebron more. Dan Gilbert wants to become the next Jerry Jones though apparently, hence why Danny Ferry left. I heard Gilbert was going to appoint himself the head coach too.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Reports have Bulls hiring Tom Thibodeau for their head coaching position... yes, he doesn't have head coaching experience like Forman said they wanted in his press conference, but what he has is World Wide Wes as his agent. Welcome to 2 days ago.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!

In order to win the Stanley Cup in 6, we'll have to do something we haven't done since 1996. Win in Philadelphia. Well, if you're going to buck a trend, might as well make it for a Cup clinching game. 1 more! -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) One year at a D-III school really doesn't count. In my mind, any little bit of experience counts. Head coaches don't do as much technical stuff as you'd think. It's more about motivation and direction when you're the guy in charge.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) He has zero head coaching experience ...in the NBA.

Serbia up 4-2 on Cameroon at half. Interesting match to say the least. Attack looks great, defense was shaky in the beginning, giving up 2 early header goals but they settled down nicely without Vidic. Serbia ends up wining 4-3. Also looks like Arjen Robben might have gotten hurt in their 6-1 friendly win today. Said he felt a sharp pain in his left hamstring. -
KC Johnson reporting that Thibodeau has accepted the Bulls offer, but an announcement can't be made until the Finals are over. So it looks like Thibodeau will be the head coach and Pete Meyers will stay on as an assistant. Thibs could be brining along Ron Adams and Mo Cheeks as assistants, which I think would be fantastic. Randy Brown will stay on as a player development assistant, and they've talked about bringing Kevin Ollie or Rick Brunson in for that same position. Not entirely sure whats going on, but the Bulls have actually (hopefully) done quite well here.

QUOTE (Drew @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) Philly gets going and they steamroll teams. If you have your foot on an opponent's throat, don't let up or else the opponent will get away. They can not be given any more momentum. Yes, you can argue that Jersey and Boston had injuries to key offensive players, Montreal had injuries to key defensive players and was a Cinderella team that hit midnight in the Conference Final, none of those teams had the depth or talent the Hawks have, but the point is the Flyers are the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, they play not just physical but dirty, are benefitting from lopsided officiating, but they stand between the Hawks and the Stanley Cup. Think of Philly is a bigger, dirtier, more skilled version of Nashville. The Hawks have to play the game that made them successful against Nashville, only much better and a whole lot faster. 3rd Period of Game 1 and 2nd Period of Game 3 showed that Philly can't skate with the Hawks when they get going. Time to get it going, Hawks. This made me laugh. I counter with "the Flyers are the only team in the Eastern Conference with a temperature" or even "the Blackhawks are the hottest team in the Western Conference." -

Pronger plays goody-goody with the refs. He's ALWAYS talking to them and tries to get them on his side. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:46 AM) You sure about that? I remember seeing him back into on his own goalie, then deflects the puck with his skate making Niemi make a better save than a shot off a stick could have, which the puck deflects out to be buried into the net. What could he possibly have done better? Sopel stayed up high on Giroux and as soon as Sopel pulls up, he launches one towards Asham who is charging the net. Hendry had good position on Asham and is backing in towards Niemi, but the pass was behind Hendry so when he turned to try and knock it out, it went off his skate. What could he have done in that situation? If he doesn't play it somehow, Asham puts one behind Niemi. And with Leino charging the net down the slot, it became a 2 on 1 in front and the only one who could have played the rebound for Brouwer who had to come back because of Sopel. Its not like Hendry intentionally deflected it towards Niemi. If Sopel or Brouwer get back, Leino doesn't get a wide open net on a rebound. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 12:12 AM) HAHA Sorry there is no way Friday is a must win for the Blackhawks, its not even close. Friday is a must win for the Flyers and that is it. However Game 5 becomes a must win if they lose game 4. I wouldn't say must-win, but it's pretty damn close. The Hawks haven't been playing all that well, despite being up 2-1. They certainly need a very good performance in game 4. Philly's got confidence now, especially in front of their home crowd. After winning both at home, you probably go in to Philly wanting to split the 2 and then try to finish it off in game 5 at home. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) On which play, the game winner? That was entirely on the bench, a terrible change. Second time the Hawks have given up a game winning goal in Philly on a bad change this year. Ya, the change was horrible. But I think he's referring to Leino's rebound goal right after Kane's goal. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 11:50 PM) Damn you Jordan Hendry. Well all this means is we win on Friday and take this in Chicago on Sunday. There was nothing he could have done on that play. He was positioned perfectly. -

Pronger getting away with all this bulls*** is really starting to piss me off. They missed 2 cross-checks on Buff before they actually called Buff for a slash. He also blatantly tripped Sharp or Vertseeg, not sure which and no-call, and Hartnell's punch to the back of Versteeg's head was a brutal no-call. And the Hawks really need to get it together in these 3rd periods. Outshot 15-4 in back to back games in the 3rd. -

We've got Poland tomorrow and Cameroon on Saturday and I believe we'll be featuring most, if not all of the starting 11, so 2 good performances will be key for Serbia. Krasic, Jovanovic and Ivanovic are the 3 most important players. If they play well, I'll feel good about things. -

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) Ben Eager is pretty underrated. I actually wonder how good he and Versteeg would be if they played along side some more offensively minded talent. I don't think Eager is underrated at all. He frustrates the hell out of me offensively most of the time. Versteeg on the other hand, could be a pretty damn good scorer. We saw it last year. -
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 31, 2010 -> 11:11 PM) I understand that. I've thrown up gang signs in pictures too, it doesn't bother me. Now if he is out living a gang bangers lifestyle during the offseason that would be a different story. Why?

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 31, 2010 -> 11:06 PM) That picture doesn't bother me in the least. The issue is the gang sign that Rose is throwing up.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 31, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) I don't watch a ton(or any) hockey and I've watched probably 20 minutes combined of the first two games but to me Philly just looks bad. They don't seem to be very sharp. They can't seem to catch a pass. Glad the hawks are up in the series. Umm, did you watch the 3rd period? Also, anyone else think Sopel is getting a little too much ice time? He's valuable in spurts, but he's slow, not the best at handling the puck, and seems to make some costly mistakes.
