HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
SoxFan1 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:14 AM) What?!!? They actually throw real octopuses on the ice!?!? I thought they sold toy ones that people throw on the ice..... ? Haha. They actually have an agreement with a local fresh fish market or something along those lines to sell octopi to fans going to the Joe. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) You know, I remember there actually was a time when Garnett was one of my favorite players but now I don't remember ever actually liking him. The Kings were always my 2nd team behind the Bulls and in the early 2000's when they got monumentally screwed over by officials year after year against the Lakers. When they played in the playoffs against Minnesota, I still always wanted to see Garnett do well but for the Kings to win. I remember when he punched Anthony Peeler in the chest and then Peeler caught him with an elbow right on the jaw. He was definitely one of my favorites. Now I hate everything about him.

Here's hoping this game propels Niemi to the next level. I think he can turn into a stud goalie for us for a long time. -
Defiance was really good. If you overlook most of the horrible accents, it was an extremely enjoyable movie.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:23 AM) Melo's game has taken off (he was already really good) since they got Billups. Other than Lebron, he's the most unguardable player in the league. And KG was cool until he won that title. I don't know what's happened to him. Still one of the best players I've ever seen, though. KG was one of my favorite players of all time before he went to Boston. Now I despise him. He's taken this whole "I have so much passion" bulls*** way too far and it's annoying as hell.

4/17 GT: Sox @ Indians, Peavy v. Westbrook

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) Ozzie has no clue. Really. It's so embarrassing. Just like him leaving in Liney last year at Wrigley, this is laughable. His in game decisions with pitchers are probably the WORST in baseball- and I don't think I am exaggerating here Jim Leyland is still far worse. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) Wall isn't overrated as a NBA prospect neither was/is Oden, now if you're going to predict a Wall injury than that's fine but otherwise he's the best prospect in this draft. Don't get me wrong, I love Evan Turner and think he's going to be quite the NBA player but he'd be 3rd on my personal draft board behind Wall and Cousins, he's just not as good a prospect as either of those guys. Anyways, I agree with the rest of your post though, like I said earlier, this Bulls team is fighting for the 5th spot if Noah didn't miss that month and that's not even including the other injuries. I agree with Brian, I see us losing in 6 and wouldn't be surprised if we take it to 7. We're not going to win it but it will be a good series and there's no way in hell we get swept. So you're saying Oden isn't good because of injury? And that if he never suffered injuries in the NBA, he'd be better than Kevin Durant? -

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 08:29 AM) Don't think there has been a better natural scorer in the NBA since MJ than T-Mac argubly (Kobe and Lebron his main contenders), although I think Durant has taken that crown now. Allen Iverson. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) Including that was when Noah came out and became the monster he now is. People are really underestimating the potential of this Bulls team. You figure Rose and Noah are going to keep getting better, though I think Noah is much closer to his ceiling. Gibson was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully Johnson doesn't take the Tyrus Thomas route. Deng is Deng. Then you add a Bosh to this mix, as well as a mid 1st round pick? And hopefully a SG who can hit the 3 consistently. Thats dirty. I'd absolutely drool at the chance of having a team like... Rose Reddick/Allen Deng Bosh Noah Then you have Hinrich, Gibson and Johnson coming off the bench. You add a 1st rounder (Xavier Henry would be the tits), and fill out the bench with some veterans. You're looking nice. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 10:11 PM) You could be right. Although I don't know if I'd add 9 wins to their total if they were healthy all year. I mean, they lost to the Nets twice. No excuse for that. Ya, I'll give you that. It's inexcusable. But the team was firmly planted in the 5th seed of the East before we suffered those injuries. We were one of the hottest teams in the league at one point. Then we had that horrible stretch which included a starting lineup of something like Pargo/Law/Murray/Gibson/Miller.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 10:06 PM) I was talking about your injury excuse. Is it not true? Noah was the leading rebounder in the NBA when he got hurt and was like 3rd in the league in double-doubles. And Rose clearly stepped it up in November when his ankle was finally healthy. Either way, my point stays the same. I highly doubt people were expecting Noah to get injured when they made their predictions.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) Fans from every team can point to multiple injuries and say the same thing. Fans from every team don't have Derrick Rose and a ton of cap space this summer.
-
If Noah and Gibson don't get plantar fascitis and Rose was healthy to start the season, this would be a 50 win team and everyone who posted in this thread would look dumb. This team is very promising for the future. Now give Cleveland a series and go sign Chris Bosh please.

I can't believe people would be rooting against the Bulls. If we miss the playoffs and don't get a top pick, MIL swaps with us and we're a f***ed non-playoff team with the 18th pick. If we DO win the lottery, and get any of the top 3 picks, we lose our ability to sign a max free agent in the offseason, first and foremost. 2nd, you're forced to pick Wall if you have the top pick and then you have to make it work with him and Rose. And IMO, Wall is pretty overrated anyway. I think Turner is the best player in this draft. See: Oden, Durant. Third, we made the playoffs and now we have the opportunity for Rose, Noah, Gibson, and others get valuable playoff experience. We saw Rose take it to another level last year in the playoffs. He's not guided this team to the playoffs in both his first 2 seasons. Do I expect to beat Cleveland? Not at all. Do I expect us to put up a fight? Of course. There is no possible way the Bulls MISSING the playoffs helps the team. -
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) Basically, without honestly being an apple fan boy. My dream device would be an iPhone with 80gb of space. An even faster processor. Quality camera on front and back. FLASH support (lolz). Wow i guess thats really it for me. My jailbroken iphone does everything and more for me. Ooo maybe netflix support too! Basically all that, with improved speakers and a webcam. Netflix on my iPhone would be awesome.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Just got back from the game. First of all, holy hell alot of fairweather celtics fans live in chicago. And they are dumb fans. Second, talk about a different league, D Rose just schooled the s*** out of Rondo, and told him about it the entire game. Awesome. Pete Meyers even f***ed with Rondo at one point. TNT actually caught that. When Meyers had the ball was holding it above Rondo's head when they went to a media timeout. Rondo got a lot of shoulders to the chest in the middle of the Bulls huddle. -
