  1. I was never a big Nix backer so this doesn't bother me at all. I actually love the move if he can help Alexei and Gordon out defensively.
  2. Bulls win 101-87. This was basically the 1st time I got to see the Bulls this season for an extended portion of a game and the thing that stook out to me most was how much better the defense looked compared to years past. Yes, it was against a mediocre/bad/young Kings team, but we played extremely disciplined defense. They didn't leave their feet on pump fakes, they worked hard to get around screens, they hustled to every loose ball, they didn't allow any easy entry passes to the post, they communicated well on switches, and their man defense overall was very sound. It's definitely apparent that the coaches and players have put a great deal of focus on defensive effort, and it seems to be paying off a bit.
  3. Typical Bulls, up 16 in the 3rd, play stupid basketball, lead now down to 7 with tons of time in the 4th. They need to learn how to put teams away and hold on to leads. EDIT: FYI, Joakim Noah has quickly become one of, if not my favorite Bull. I hated the pick when we made, but he's making me eat monster nuclear crow. He's worked his ass off and become a fantastic player. Leading the league in rebounding right now and averaging a double-double. 13 points, 14 boards so far against the Kings. Love it.
  4. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) I hope you're doing better in broadcasting than me. Funny you mention this, my unofficial broadcast career started last Friday doing play-by-play for the GVSU Hockey team. Remember that PM you sent me a while back? That was reassuring. :lol" Oh, and my favorite line from the reponse he sent you: "so don’t tell me how you can do my job. You can’t. You don’t have the training, the access or the staying power."
  5. I'm so very excited to see how this turns out...
  6. I might hate Cowley more than I hated the other moron...
  7. They're probably going to be 19 year contracts.
  8. Could you imagine the run-producing/OBP potential we'd have with Beckham, a healthy CQ, Gonzalez, and Nick Johnson!?!?
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 03:31 PM) Yeah, even the guys who don't like giving up young players (i.e. me) would do it with Hudson as a starting point. It's giving up all of our top 4-5 guys that would trouble me. If I'm KW, I have no issues giving them any of our prospects. The only guy I'd REALLY want to keep is Flowers, but anyone other than that can go. Thing is, I also don't see them dealing Danks2, so that might become an issue, but who knows. If they wanted Flowers, I'd still pull the trigger depending on who else was involved. You have the opportunity of adding a premier LH bat with a ton of power and great defense who is in his prime and cheaper than dirt for 2 years.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) FWIW, A person that I know that is in the Padres organization has also told me that the trade is being discussed. He told me the Padres want Hudson in any deal for Adrian. As far as I would be concerned, not an issue at all.
  11. Not quite NHL, but if you guys have some free time or want to hear what I sound like, I'll be doing my 1st live hockey play by play call tonight for GVSU vs Western Michigan. I'm really excited. It'll only be audio so it's free if you guys want to tune in. http://www.gvsuhockey.com/d2/?page_id=134 It'll be a bit rough, but it's our fist game so cut me a little slack. Feel free to critique though...
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 02:09 AM) :o That's gotta be a top 5 or 10 posterization of all time.

    De Aza

    QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) He probably should make the roster as the 4th/5th OF and primary speed guy off the bench. De Aza has his value just not as a starter. I couldn't agree more.

    De Aza

    I could absolutely see him being on the Opening Day roster. Don't forget who runs our organization and creates our lineups...
  15. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 9, 2009 -> 06:10 PM) Joe Johnson is too, but he's not better than Ben Gordon who we could've had for pennies on the dollar in compared to Johnson. Says Ben Gordon's biggest fan.
  16. Since I was 8 years old, I've wanted to be a sports broadcaster. That's been the one and only thing I've ever wanted to be. I'm currently a broadcast major as a junior in college.
  17. The Breslin Center is a pretty damn cool place to be. The Izzone gets pretty f***ing loud.
  18. I hope they both just have Danks on the back. If you're a fan, you'd be able to distinguish by number.
  19. I'm going to East Lansing tomorrow to watch Michigan State/Grand Valley State at the Breslin Center. I'm excited, I've never been to MSU before and the last time we played MSU, we won.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) I'd much rather have Wade. My brother and I talked about this, and how passing His Airness' statue would do the following to people: Kobe: Push him to accept the challenge Wade: Find in an honor LeBron: Be pressured and eventually whine about it. Also, small annoyance, you play a 3 forward rotation then, since Deng is untradeable (if he plays bad, he'd get shopped, if he plays well, they'll keep him and let Salmons walk). MJ and the statue be damned, if Lebron wants to play for the Bulls, you offer as much as you can. And I still think that Wade and Rose are FAR too similar in that they are most effective with the ball in their hands that they would be counter-productive to each other. We'd have the fastest backcourt in the league with an ability to get to the hoop like no other, but I don't think it's an optimal fit. I wouldn't complain, but there are better options. My wish list would go as follows: 1.) Lebron 2.) Bosh 3.) Stoudemire 4.) Wade 5.) Johnson 6.) Nowitzki/Redd/Boozer
  21. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) I like 3 of the 5. 1. AP 2. Steven Jackson 3. Chris Johnson 4. DeAngelo Williams 5. Michael Turner I'd flip-flop 2/3, other than that, I agree.

    QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 7, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) Rock, I just got a copy of the program, but think I may be missing something. The introductory DVD was good and referenced doing an initial fit test. Did I miss the test on that DVD or is it on another DVD? I'm wondering if I am missing one? I have one marked Intro and the 12 workout DVD's. Thanks I don't think the test is on a disc. It should be in the booklet. It's on paper.
  23. QUOTE (The Beast @ Nov 7, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) I wouldn't say that drinking is something that I enjoy doing. I do not mind trying new things but there has been nothing that is out of the ordinary amazing about alcohol. A lot of people I have seen do in fact have alcohol issues. There are also many who do not. What I enjoy is when people aren't being idiots and are there just to be social and have a good time. You know, the ones that want to get to know you and give two s***s that you are at the party, social gathering or whatever. Just not frat parties. f*** frat parties. I'm willing to vouch that some people do look forward to getting hammered over the weekend. Again I have to use the word some before people because I know many of you hate generalizations. Some people enjoy doing their own hobbies. I will say though that if a person DOES need alcohol to have fun, they obviously have issues. I love getting hammered. I look forward to it when I know it's in my near future. Doesn't make me an alcoholic. There's a difference between looking forward to getting hammered to where it impairs your ability to function on a day-to-day basis and looking forward to getting hammered because you know it'll be a good time. I get my s*** done, I work my ass off during the week, and I unwind hard over the weekend. You seem to take the biggest idiot of the idiots and base your opinions of the whole on that small group of jackasses. And this is just a personal opinion, but if you're drinking to be more social, well, that kind of makes you hypocritical. I do agree, however, that frats and frat parties can suck it.
  24. 1.) Eminem - Cleaning Out My Closet 2.) Rick Ross - Hustlin' 3.) Big Tymers - Still Fly 4.) Michael Jackson - Thriller 5.) Papoose - Alphabetical Slaughter 6.) Jay-Z - Public Service Announcement 7.) Drake - I'm Still Fly 8.) T.I. - You Don't Know Me 9.) Lynard Skynard - Sweet Home Alabama 10.) Matisyahu - King Without a Crown
  25. QUOTE (The Beast @ Nov 7, 2009 -> 01:55 AM) Tonight I tried a shot of straight vodka, had a miller light and then did the shot of straight everclear Just curious, but how did you feel after that?
