QUOTE (Real @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 08:11 AM) Floyd vs liriano? already seen this movie SPOILER: the ending sucked QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 11:52 AM) This will not go well... He could no hit them again. Or at the very least it will be a dominant start. This could be his last chance to make an impression and get traded to a contender so he'll wanna pitch his ass off and he's owned the Sox in the past. Just so much could go wrong tonight, I'm afraid to watch... But I will anyway. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) If Dunn starts, you can pencil him in for a hitless night. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) Can't wait for the Sox to miss the second wildcard by one game because Ventura refused to make lineup adjustments. Oh, Soxtalk...

Gavin Floyd is an ace.

My internship is done in September. Started to get very concerned about what happens after that.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) Also, it's worth noting that it's been eight years between TDK and TDKR, so cities can change. Yup: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=2654200

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) There really wasnt too much CGI in the first, really. Basically seeing through the eyes of the people who were on gas, and when the gas was released into the city. I love that Nolan stays away from CGI as much as he can Uh, they CGI'd the s*** out of Gotham in BB.

Total pipedream, but just imagine if the White Sox could land Felix Hernandez somehow? It'd be like when we got Peavy, but even better.

I don't know that I can ever recall seeing Ichiro perfectly clean-shaven.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:12 PM) We also had some flukey first halves that probably won't be duplicated. And I'd still take our rotation (if healthy) over theirs. Defense too. Beatable if they beat themselves? That's a joke. -
Ichiro on the Yankees feels dirty. I hate it.

Tigers Acquire Sanchez and Infante from Marlins

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 05:04 PM) This is a team that won 95 games last year, and pretty much replaced Victor Martinez with Prince Fielder. Now they just added two players that address their biggest weaknesses. They are a team to be respected. Are they beatable? Sure, if they beat themselves. This is the team with the most talent in the AL Central. They should be on a pedestal. They also had a number of players overperform last year. Jhonny Peralta came back down to earth and so did Brennan Boesch, but now Berry and Jackson have decided to be the flavor of the week. That team was fluky last season and they're fluky as of late. They don't scare me at all. And as long as they continue to spend recklessly, that's fine with me. -

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 04:57 PM) Lol I love the white flags from some of you guys. Seriously the season is no where close to being over and were 1.5 games out of first. Give the doomed crap a rest. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) Meh This. It sickens me how people place the Tigers on a pedestal. They still don't scare me. -
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 04:09 PM) I'm not saying that Teague is better than Foye, I'm saying that the impact that Foye could make in those 10-15 minutes he gets instead of Teague (unless he plays the 2 as well, in which case, ugh) is of little significance in the big picture. EVERY SINGLE MOVE the Bulls have made this offseason have little significance in the big picture.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) I'll bet you right now we still gonna win 50 games this year. I have no idea why you over rate our old bench so much and under rate our new bench so much. Yeah, Foye and Bellineli are garbage...but C.J. Watson and Brewer, there were some great players! right? Brewer still hasn't been picked up by anyone yet btw There's not a chance in hell the Bulls win 50.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) I'm talking about this season, which is all that matters to the Braves. And there is no guarantee that his numbers don't regress back to the mean. His xFIP is over a run and a half higher than his ERA and his HR rate is down like 25%.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) LOL. Well then agree to disagree on ALL of that then. And I didn't say Gilmartin was a top prospect (even though he is like their #3 guy now), but that doesn't mean he doesn't figure in to their future rotation. How can you disagree with any of it? Vizcaino, who is a reliever for them, is coming off TJ, as is Beachy. Those are facts. Mike Minor is GOD AWFUL. Look at his numbers, then watch him throw 90 mph fastballs straight as an arrow. Teheran, however, will be a stud.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) No, not an awful trade for them. Braves are FLUSH with young pitchers. They get a legitimate ace this season (albiet for only 2+ months) for "one of" their top pitching prospects. They still have Minor, Teheran, Vizciano, Beachy, and even Gilmartin. Braves are still set up to be a pitching powerhouse. Vizcaino and Beachy are both coming off Tommy John. Minor is awful. And Gilmartin isn't considered a top prospect. And no, Dempster is NOT an ace.
-
Awful trade by the Braves.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) Dempster to the Braves per multiple Twitter sources Rumor has it that Randall Delgado is included in the deal. If so, big win for the Cubs. Dempster isn't a part of your future anyway.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) One thing I noticed about these three movies is that Gotham looks different in each movie. I don't know if that was done on purpose or what. It absolutely was. In BB, Gotham was in it's worst state ever with crime and poverty, and most of the movie was set in the Narrows, the ghettos of Gotham. TDK and TDKR are in a more peaceful Gotham in which Wayne Enterprises and the police force have helped clean up the city and the streets.

I liked it even better the 2nd time around, particularly the end. Allows you to appreciate the story-telling and the visuals even more. What an incredible movie.

Personal opinion: Gatorade is only to be drank during physical activity or when hungover. Because it's miraculous in both situations.
