We should all play a drinking game. 1 drink every time the word "shark" is said and 3 drinks ever time a shark is on TV.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) I prefer to sit on my hand until it goes numb... then do "the business". I call it the stranger. I like to take 3 sleeping pills and go for it. It's like a game...and I always win.

SoxFan1 replied to DaveBrown85's topic in Pale Hose Talk
There is no offer, this is speculation by Gregor. -
Some asshole just tried feeding a shark with his hand. Nice going jackass.

Most exciting sporting event you ever attended.
SoxFan1 replied to bigklita's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
To be perfectly honest, the biggest and most exciting game I've ever attended was the NCAA DIV II Tourney 2 years ago. We were hosting our region and had an undefeated season going and the regional final was in our house vs our biggest conference rival, Findlay (who just won the title this past March.) The Fieldhouse was packed and the game came down to the wire. Everyone was wearing blue and it was the most exciting game I've been to, no question. We won a close one on same late FT's and awesome defense. Our student section was insane. I was also at the game last year where Thome hit his 2000th, that was really exciting. And I've never been to a post-season game in a pro sport, but the Sox/Rays game last Monday when Gavin pitched was very exciting and there was a playoff-like atmosphere. -
QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 02:24 AM) this should be fun Both are 25 year old 2B anyone want to take a stab at who player one is and who player two is? Player one is Player two is Honestly looking at what Chris has done in April, July and what he is doing to start august, i think he could easily put up career numbers like this . I have a hard time believing he would be capable of putting up a 900OPS season with out being on HGH or PEDs but you never know. Power is always the last tool to develop especially in left handed hitters and just a year ago chris hit 11HR in Charlotte. To me chris outside of his rookie adjustment period doesn't stirke me as the type of hitter that is going to go into prologned slumps. He is a welcome addition to our line up and the station to station baseball that has plagued us for so long, personally in the near future i would have him hitting second with Gordon hitting third with Figgins hitting leadoff and playing CF capping it off. Getz, to me, is ultimately going to be most effective as a 9 hitter who gets on base and makes things happen with his speed. If he does turn out to reach his ceiling, than he could be a damn good #2 hitter in front of Beckham at #3 or possibly even a lead-off hitter.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) You got yourself a good deal. I'm thinking about inquiring on a deal on Craiglist: TaylorMade Burner Driver (10.5 degree) for my dad and a 60 degree TaylorMade RAC wedge for myself. Both clubs for $115 total. Seems too good to be true. But, the seller says he bought the clubs new at the beginning of the summer and just doesn't like them as much as his old clubs. Either he doesn't know much about golf or those clubs are in BAD shape. Definitely worth the inquiry.

Peavy making his White Sox debut on August 27th would be an incredible birthday present for me.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Very true. Why does everybody love Getz so much? People started loving him last year when he got like 2 hits in 7 ABs. I like Getz, but he's been a below average offensive player this year playing mediocre defense. There's a lot to like about him (his speed, his peskiness), but he's not a good candidate for ROY. Because Getz leads a lot of rookies in a lot of statistical categories.

Just got one brand-new on eBay for $91 including shipping. Not bad. 2009 56.11 Vokey.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 08:02 PM) Popular wedge. And very good. I'm wanting to add a 56 and 60 degree wedge to my set. Particularly the 60 degree for flop shots. I currently have a 52 degree wedge that I love, though. I could steal you one from the course I work at and sell it at a discounted rate, say, $60... You know you put green, but on the low-key, you'd really do it lol.

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 06:56 PM) Titleist clubs are so pretty. When would you use that club? It's also known as a sand or lob wedge, and with this club, you can basically hit any shot within 50 yards. It's designed to get way under the ball and pop it up high around the green.

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) What the f*** is that? It sounds like a wrestling move.

Anyone want to sell me a 56 degree Titleist Vokey?

Is Linebrink done with 2.33 years remaining?
SoxFan1 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) But is it an arrow-straight 95 like Aardsma, Embree and Koch? Movement, command/location and getting ahead in counts is always the key out of the pen, and having a second pitch with a 10+ MPH differential from the FB...unless you're Mo Rivera. It had solid tailing action. It wasn't breath-taking or anything, but he made Posada look stupid, IIRC. -

He hit 95 today, he's certainly not done. He just need to improve his control and get some confidence back. -

Well, we had all the opportunities in the world to win that game, but we just couldn't get the hits when we needed them. Taking 3 our of 4 is nice, but if you have a chance to sweep, you've got to take care of business. Good series, now let's get the Angels. -

I have to say, our defensive positioning has been pretty damn good this series. We definitely did our homework. Now, where the hell was this against DET and MIN? -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) the ump is a piece of crap, that was not a strike... Well then,we need to work on Beckham's taste in music or lack of... He can ask PK for suggestions...he has the most awesome theme song. Great hit CQ,how huge was the stranded three bagger? Beckham should never, EVER change his intro song. Period. -

QUOTE (rockren @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 02:39 PM) I'd much rather explore cheaper alternatives with what we already have on deck in Jor Danks and perhaps Jared Mitchell. Mitchell certainly won't be ready, but there is a chance Danks2 might. However, he's going to need to drop the k-rate quite a bit, or else we're looking at Brent Lillibridge again.
